Where to start? I…read moreoriginally had lots of problems getting an appointment for an endoscopy as they were booked solid for months in advance. When I explained that I couldn't wait that long because I was going out of the country for four months, I was told I would get a call when they had a cancellation. Well, I didn't get a call. I gave up on them and tried to find another doctor when I returned from overseas, but that doctor was far more problematic for a variety of reasons, so I still didn't get the procedure. Almost a year later, I tried Mesquite Gastro again. I was able to get an appointment in a reasonable amount of time and get the procedure scheduled in a reasonable amount of time. And then, the night before the procedure, a major monsoon rain took out the dirt road I need to travel to get to Tucson such that it was impossible to make it to the endoscopy. They were very understanding about the situation, didn't charge me for missing the appointment, and found an opening for me to get the endoscopy a week later. And, too, after the procedure, the doctor spent some time with me explaining things in an informative and relaxed manner. He was quite kind. So, two or three stars for the original contact, five plus stars for the later contact and procedure. If I need another endoscopy, I would be happy to return to this surgery center. They ain't perfect, but they're a whole lot better than %#$&(!* on the other side of town!

I switched to this practice after receiving horrendous care at Arizona Gastroenterology. It was…read morelike night and day. I've never seen such a clean office and all the staff were very professional and caring. Dr. McNerny is excellent and came in after my endoscopy to go over the results. Unlike Arizona Gastroenterology which sends a medical assistant to read a scripted result. The waiting rooms are spacious and the exam room was spotless. I went all the way across town to get to this office and it was well worth it.

Before opting to have my procedure done here, I sat down with their front desk and billing, and we…read morewent over in great detail what this was going to actually cost me. From their telephone recording to signs all over the building, they say they 'collect ALL copay and co-insurance' upfront before scheduling any operations. They reached out to my insurance, we figured out what this would truly be out of pocket for me, and I paid them in full that day. Well, they messed up and I am well over $1500 in unexpected medical bills at this point. They said it was my fault. I have all their notes. I have my timeline and I know how serious I was trying to get in front of this, but they don't care and you all should be warned as well. Maybe look for someone more organized. They're so behind that when they send you an invoice, to pay, they expect you to write your credit card number on a piece of paper and mail it back to them. Update: I went into their office to pay. The place where I originally made my payment. They told me they wouldn't accept my payment in office and said I needed to return with my invoice or use their billing department method. I'm not writing my credit card info on a paper and mailing it. Update 2: After some back and forth, they agreed to take my payment. How nice of them. They assured me I was paid in full. This was over two weeks ago now. I just received another invoice from them. Update 3: I am now on my 5th ask - would you please send me a statement that I am paid in full. They have not sent it. I may need to go back to their office and get something in writing face to face. I don't trust their record keeping and need to protect myself. I wonder if the providers know how bad they are managed. Please also note they have no public facing email so all you can do is call. Chaos. Another edit!! They just sent me another invoice!
