Ryan is amazing!!! He came out to Boulder City to work on my Ram 4x4 that had been damaged with masking tape applied to the paint along with overspray from painters hired by my neighbor that had attempted to cover my truck with plastic while painting their house while I was away. The glue from the masking tape had dried to the paint in several places and Ryan worked diligently to remove it without damaging the clear coat or paint. The glue was stubborn, and Ryan did not give up after his initial attempts failed and continued with different methods until he was finally able to get it clean!!! To get the overspray removed, he clayed the entire truck getting off all of the paint overspray that had stuck to the paint where the plastic failed to stay attached. Finally, he hand waxed my truck bringing it back to the showroom condition it had been in. Not only is Ryan knowledgeable about what products to use where, but his work is nothing short of spectacular!!! My truck's paint feels like Butter and the shine is like looking into a mirror!!! I have an 18 year old black SUV in great mechanical shape, but the paint had become terribly weathered and 230K miles of wear and tear (and unrelenting sun) on the exterior had taken its toll. The rear hatch was the worst, the paint had become rough to the touch and hazy. The hood had a bunch of chips from pebble strikes on the highway and the sides were scratched from an off-roading excursion in desert scrub. I thought the only solution was a new paint job, that's how bad it was. The cost for re-painting was worth more than the car, so I decided to seek someone who was really good at detailing. Ryan asked a number of questions and then stopped by to look at the car and provide a quote. There are trade-offs and different levels of effort that can be employed in a detailing job (more effort, more cost...basic economics), and I told Ryan that I wanted my dependable road beast to look as good as it could get, given its condition. It was a three-day job and the results were spectacular. I can't even call it a detailing, it was more like a paint restoration. Seriously, just...wow! I had no delusion that the car would look brand new, but now instead of looking like an 18 year old workhorse vehicle that is past its prime, it looks like a three year old SUV that has been garaged, shielded from the elements and babied its entire life. Hired this guy to detail my car and clean the engine which he did. Mentioned I was going to LA for three weeks and had two techs lined up to work on my car (guys who I've worked with for years). One a mobile paint repair guy named Keith who's a magician. He uses factory matched paints (NEVER touch up paint) and worked on my Jaguar multiple times. He always fixed every scratch and the car always looked flawless. Never took more than a few hours. Second guy's name is Javier and he repairs rims. Another master craftsman. After my car was detailed, the owner Ryan told me he does paint and rim repair. I was hesitant (and this is what I get for not trusting my gut). I asked "Are you 200% sure the car will look like showroom condition?" He assured me it would and that was a lie as you can see by the picture I posted here. The day before I left for LA (I was driving out there) he comes out to do the work. The first red flag is that he brought touch-up paint, something any pro would never do (a chimpanzee can apply touch up paint). He also used a paint brush on my rim which Javier or any other tech would also shake their head at. I came out at the end of the day to check the car and was very angry. None of the paint had been blended anywhere. He tells me it's a two part process and that when I get back into town he'll blend the paint (I'm just getting started on this part of it). He NEVER told me this. He lied to get the work. I'm still mad at myself for cancelling Keith and Javier. Lesson learned here. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Stick with what works. After I got back into town things went from bad to worse. He comes by to blend the paint and accomplishes practically nothing. He tells me he'll come back. He does...without all the materials he needed. So he comes back again....and still can't blend the paint (I'm not making this up). I knew by now this job was a total loser but I figured I had no choice but to let him finish. Alot of people are hesitant to mess with work that somebody else started and that's totally understandable. At this point he basically made any excuse to not come back and to be honest I was done too. Now I have no choice but to take the car into the dealership for a professional paint job and I have no idea what they're gonna charge me. I don't get why people offer to do work they're not capable of doing. Car paint is something that takes years to master. I have friends in the industry and I know this. UPDATE TO OWNER'S RESPONSE: This response he gave has no merit. I clearly wrote that my pros in California DO NOT use touch up paint. They use factory matched paint, not the Mickey Mouse technique that was used here. Writing that touch up paint "will never match perfectly"....yeah, no kidding. I messaged a bunch of mobile detailers on Friday. Ryan was the first person to respond to the Yelp quote inquiry (at this time he has a 10 minute response time per Yelp), had the best deal going on, and was able to schedule me on Sunday. Messaged via Yelp and settled on service and location. He just moved here from California and is getting his clientele up plus acclimating to his first dose of Vegas summer! (Find him shade lol) Day of service there was a bit of a snafu with scheduling as the previous client kept asking for add on services. I didn't mind terribly as I didn't have plans that day but it could have been an issue if I was on a tight schedule. Ryan was communicative and offered a discount for the tardiness. I couldn't be happier and more satisfied with the job Ryan did in cleaning my Mazda 6! I had a can of Monster explode in my car several weeks ago and it left a HUGE mess all over the interior and most especially on the interior roof which had a multitude of stains. I had Ryan detail my Nissan Altima SL last year. Ryan gives the luxury car detailing experience without the luxury detailing price. He even offered to come detail my car at my house, but in the end, I preferred letting him work at his shop near my work.
