I've been coming here for about 3-4 years. Everyone here is pretty good. I have no complaints. The frames are kind of expensive, but they have frames for all budgets. Second pair of glasses (about 6 years apart). Both same quality. Horrible. Don't waste your $. Went to ophthalmologist between then and will toss my Ford worthless free eye test, and go to an ophthalmologist again for a correctly done eye exam. Only for took for $70 this time though getting worthless safety glasses. My diopter $15 pair of safety glasses from Amazon were better. read more

Warranty with a free lens replacement my #££. I originally paid under $400 for a complete set, I broke the frame and scratched one of the lenses that I paid top dollar for scratch resistant ones. Needed to repair them and what did they do, charged me an arm and a leg. More like 50% of the original cost. That is crazy. I'm going bacc to America's Best. read more

I would avoid this place and go across the street to rx optical. Employees here are pleasant but not super welcoming. Some are wearing masks incorrectly. I was looking for a nice pair of frames - the lady showed me a handful of frames then kinda was like OK well, look around if u have any questions let me know.. she kinda gave up on me a bit.. also she told me "yes that one looks good" to literally every single pair. The worst optometrist I've ever dealt with! They scheduled an appointment in their "earliest time frame" Two weeks out. Then call the morning of said appointment 2 hours before the appointment and cancel. Therefore I had to schedule another appointment and wait another week. The morning of that appointment I received a call (again 2 hours before my scheduled appointment) to cancel my appointment yet again. Then the next kick in the pants. "Well, we don't have anything open until Saturday. Which will be another 5 days. In all they strung me along for 26 days with promise of 2 appointments. This SvS is unprofessional and not worth anyone's hard earned money! read more

The staff are giggling when I walk in - no not at me ... but could tell that they were happy to be at work! Areas of the retail side were being sanitized with spray, and I was the only one in there. Desk manager is loud- maybe offensive to some but she is nice ! Her OCD shows as she controls all the conversations in the office. Doctor is amazing ! Soft spoken calm, and kind. And the tech was quite. I'm sure because of the manger she has learned to be subdued. Great experience! read more

The staff where very helpful in getting my daughter to pick out new glasses. She had completely destroyed her old pair. Thankfully we had already did the vision exam back in October because she thought she was ready for contacts at age 12. Even then the staff was superb because I never did purchase contact lenses tweens are peculiar! I've been going there for year's now and they always fit my needs. read more

This is regarding the Garden City location only.... Two years ago I made an appointment for my then 10 year old son. I day before the appointment they called me and told me that they could not verify his insurance. I called the insurance company and was able to verify coverage immediately. Now 2 years later (he is now 12) the same exact thing happens. So when I told the employee at SVS Vision to do his job ( And I do admit I wasn't nice about it) he cancelled my son's appointment and refused to see him. I made him an appointment elsewhere however who does that to a 12 year old kid or any kid for that matter??? read more

Bad service, poor communication, and condescending attitudes in a nice way to describe my recent trip to SVS Vision. I visited this place once about seven years ago. The glasses were fine, but the service was subpar. I figured it was an isolated event, so when I needed a new pair of glasses SVS Vision seemed fine. The recheck and the service was about the same; nothing spectacular but nothing to complain about. I ordered two pairs of glasses. I specifically asked for and tried on Raybans for sunglasses and the knockoff frames were ordered. When I stated that they were incorrect, the service woman tried talking me into keeping them (I had to tell her three times that I was sure I didn't want the knock off frames.) I hate to sound like a snob about a pair of sunglasses, but I believe when people ask for something specific, that's what they should receive. Also, since the sunglasses had prescription lenses specially made, I asked to have the original lenses that come with the sunglasses from the factory. When the package arrived, there was a note on the bag to include the original lenses. The lenses weren't in the bag. The lenses on my regular pair of glasses were made incorrectly from the lab. I understand mistakes happen and I was patient with them for this mistake. To summarize, I'm generally a very patient man. I've worked retail jobs in the past and I understand what it's like to deal with ornery people. I don't usually go out of my way to complain, especially publicly, when something goes a little wrong. I know that we're all human and mistakes are inevitable. I also know that I would not go back to SVS Vision even if they rendered free services. read more

In August, i went in for an eye exam, new glasses and contacts. My eye exam went well and the doctor ordered me new classes and contacts(so I thought) I paid $65.00 out of pocket and I was giving an appointment to come in to take my eye contact class. This was a success. They sent me home with a pair of contacts and told me my other contacts will be ready soon and I had to made an appointment. They gave me contact solution and everything. Now, due to covid, the company had to close down for a minute. Fast forward to last Saturday, I called and asked when can I pick up my contacts? I was informed that I never ordered contacts. They told me that I paid for a contact class, not contacts. How? Why would I waste my time talking to the doctor about getting them, coming back and forth to contact classes if I did not order them. Who just pay for contact classes with the end result being not getting contacts. Oh yeah and Monica tried to handle the call with a promise to look over my chart and give me a call back. It has not happen and I will never be back. read more

Came in and spent nearly $400 on my new glasses that were supposed to be progressives, transitions and computer glare. First go to get them and the prescription was wrong. Pick up 2nd pair. They don't transition. Went back and they never charged me for transitions and it'll cost another $100! What?? Frames were paid for by insurance so what on earth was so expensive?? I got frames and entire package from Costco for less than $200. Will never come back here. So angry. read more

There is no rhyme or reason to this place. Not one employee approaches the customers as they walk in the door. I had to stand directly in front of the unfriendly, unsocial receptionist before she would even acknowledge I was there. I chalked it up as maybe they were having a bad day. Came back a week later to pick up my glasses and I received the EXACT same service. Again, I had to stand directly in front of the same unfriendly receptionist as the week before for her to acknowledge me. If they are not going to greet the customers in some way at least have a sign in sheet or something. On a different note, I got my glasses in a timely manner however, I will not be back as there are a lot of other places that will appreciate my business. read more

I waited 2 1/2 weeks to get a pair of $400.00 glasses with a Groupon. The service was OK. The employees were courteous but the wait for my glasses was inexcusable. Nobody should have to wait this amount of time with today's technology. I will NOT repeat with this company due to the ridiculous wait time to get the product. read more

I went to this place for over 10 years and I can't stand it. When I went there with my parents they would treat me like a human being but when I went by myself they rushed me through the process, they were impatient, and they were disrespectful towards me while I went through the frames to pick out what I wanted. They would make remarks that I couldn't afford the frames or that they didn't see me wearing that style. I went through the class to get contacts my final time there and she was saying I was irritating my eye and she didn't have all day to wait for me to get it. I was just super uncomfortable. There is only 2 people in this entire place who I trust to be nice and it's Cocoa and Lynn. Everyone else is rude, unprofessional and immature. Apart from the experience the doctor is a joke. I told her that I get headaches after wearing the glasses for a certain amount of time and she suggested to not only make my prescription stronger so I could see more bolder and sharper but that I may need bifocals. I am 28 years old I shouldn't need these things. I went to lenscrafters and my service was 150% different. They gave me a lighter prescription, made my glasses on site in 1 hour and my headaches are completely gone. Not to mention Lenscrafters doesn't require you to be a first time patient to get the deals they are running. read more
