The owner, Inna, was amazing. She knew exactly what I wanted and how. There was no confusion on what I was saying and what she knew she had to do. I didn't have a ton that needed to be done but some had some tricky seams to work around. Inna did an insanely good job. Even the way she made the bustle was unique and easy to understand. Sadly I rescheduled my wedding before my last fitting. But the girls allowed me to pick up the dress and reschedule the fitting in 2021 if needed with no penalties! My wedding reception outfit was an Indian-western fusion dress made in India according to my measurements. When it arrived, it didn't fit me well and it wasn't what I envisioned. Through a consult with Inna, we were able to come up with a great plan on how to alter the dress that was still cost effective and didn't totally rip the whole thing apart. The end result was amazing and it fit me amazingly. My more traditional off white mermaid cut strapless wedding dress was altered to absolute perfection and my curves had never looked better. I originally wanted my dress as tight as possible around my hips but Inna suggested to leave some room in the hip area so I could last the whole day in the outfit and she was right! I was much more comfortable with that little wiggle room. Her turn around time was very quick, quality of the alterations were incredible, especially with the delicate silk fabric of my Indian outfit and the cost was very reasonable too.

I was seen immediately when I walked in despite it being mid-day on a Saturday. The tailor clearly knew what he was doing and was able to suggest solutions to help fix all of the issues I was worried about. I was very impressed by how quickly and expertly he made the necessary pins, marks, and suggestions. When I picked up the dress they had me try it to see whether more modifications were needed. It looked great, however a few dark marks had appeared on the dress since I dropped it off. To fix this, they got it dry cleaned within a few days. Overall it was a great experience!

Bought a gown for an evening wedding at a well known, national chain, bridal store. The wedding…read morewas in 3 weeks and I didnt want to buy a dress too soon in case it was canceled due to COVID. The dress fit very well and really only needed about an inch or so hemmed at the bottom to keep it from dragging on the floor. The staff made a big deal about, well the tailor is very busy, you need an appt for a fitting, yada yada. The cost for a simple hem was $60, plus the time to go back in for an appt, and because it was only 3 weeks away, and extra $25 to rush it. What a scam! Needless to say I bought the dress, looked on Yelp and found Penfield Tailors. No appt necessary, I stopped in, tried the dress on, Bulent measured the dress and quoted $20 to do the hem and he would have it done next week. Lovely space, private dressing room (he even had a pair of heels in case they were needed) and he was friendly & relaxed. He even helped zip me lol. Fast forward, one week later, we stop in, the dress is ready. I tried it on with my heels and it was the perfect length (which means I won't trip on it when dancing). Ali Gültekin has been a tailor for decades, and his expertise has been perfect in all the work he has done for us. In addition to standard alterations, he has come up with solutions to some specific problems with pieces we brought in, for example fixing some small areas on a camel-hair coat where rough handling had removed the nap. You would never guess it to see the jacket after his repair. I believe he understands all there is to know about clothing, fabric, findings/accessories, and tailoring. His prices are quite reasonable, and he is agreeable to work with.
