Despite having worked at numerous weddings, she gave me the impression that my wedding was unique and she approached the day with fresh eyes and excitement and a sincere desire to capture it all perfectly. She had chameleon qualities to blend in without disturbing the flow of the day, an octopus presence allowing her to be everywhere simultaneously and a stealthy radar alertness to everything going on around her. I cannot recommend her more highly. Thank-you!

Some of us began with a selection of teas, and others chose coffee. The finger sandwiches were delicious and included turkey and cranberry sauce, egg salad, and cucumber & cream cheese. My friends raved about the scotch eggs and sausage roll, but I enjoyed the salmon and dill roll. The buttermilk scone was perfectly tender and was served with jam and clotted cream. Desserts included a macaron, a chocolate orange profiterole, an apple crumble tartlet and Christmas cake. All were perfection. Staff were very attentive. Paid parking is adjacent.

I ordered the scallops and unfortunately found the metal piece used to hold the chorizo sausage casing in my dish. It was in the food, and when I bit into it, it nearly chipped my tooth. Finding a piece of metal in a dish is obviously quite concerning. The roasted potatoes that came with the vegetarian roulade were so hard that they practically required a chainsaw to cut! Then, when the roulade was served, the server did not mention that the gravy pot was extremely hot. I picked it up to pour the gravy over the Yorkshire pudding and immediately burned my finger. It was so hot that I dropped the pot, missing the Yorkshire pudding; the gravy ended up on my plate instead. Thankfully, I wasn't blistered, but my finger was red and painful. At that point, I wasn't even sure whether I wanted to continue with dessert. It's a shame because the hotel itself is lovely, and I have otherwise enjoyed my stay. Unfortunately, the dinner experience fell well short of what I would expect from The Angel. Hopefully this was simply an off night, but there were enough issues with the food and service that it definitely needs to be addressed.

I am in my mid-40s , but I was comfortably the youngest in the room for dinner, barring the staff. The menu was reasonably well executed but in no sense ambitious; my "Chicken Supreme" was nice but did not rock any boats. Similarly, the chocolate fondant with peanut ice cream was unspectacular. A very "safe" place to eat.
Recently celebrating my birthday, my mum bought me a spa visit and afternoon tea at The Swan in…read moreLavenham. The spa is actually Weaver's Spa and Shop, which is a separate entity to the Swan, and we had very different experiences at both. When we finished our spa day, a lovely member of staff walked us through the many (many!) hallways through to The Swan's restaurant - there is an outside walkway but, as it was raining, they were kind enough to take us this alternative route. We were seated at a nice intimate sofa and table, very relaxed after our massages, and ordered our tea to go alongside the food. The tea arrived fairly quickly with some lovely crockery but there was a huge wait for the food, during which time we felt very neglected. The eventual explanation was that the staff Christmas party was also taking place in an adjoining room - fair for them to have a party, but it shouldn't affect service this much! The food itself was good, with a very tasty warm bakewell tart and meringue swans filled with cream. The scones were also delicious, with both fruit and apple & walnut flavours served. The sandwiches were a let down with very dry bread and seemed to be an afterthought compared to the delicate pastries and cakes. We had a lovely time together but the afternoon tea didn't add much to the experience overall. A bit of a shame.

Used to be our go to place for pricey but excellent food and drink that was worth it. NOW it's terrible. They kept the prices and lowered the quality of everything! Used to have nice mood lighting with candles. Now it's bright as day and candles are burnt to nothing. God the food was so gross. Nachos=crisps, tube squeezed guacamole, bbq, sour cream.
