Just a 1.5 mile trail. 3 miles in all. The scenery is amazing. Beautiful views of the historic Suwannee River all along the trail. Hike ends at the majestic Big Shoals. Your experience will depend on the water level of the river, but ours was pretty impressive. Park is pristine. Trails are well maintained and easily accessible. We went in the middle of the week and were the only people there. It's really hot in the summer,so make sure you have water available. Don't miss the bat house at the very beginning of the trail. If the bats hear your voice they will start moving around and making noise. Great old Florida experience.

The lake is scenic and there are many things to do and see around the park. One of the best features is the ability to camp wherever you want, unlike most festivals where you have to camp in line with everyone where they tell you to. Camping under the trees feels like a true camping experience and you can even have fires here. Water spigots are plentiful so getting water is a breeze. In the venue there's even a regular bathroom with flush toilets which is a really nice touch. I've been here for two events: tipper and friends as well as Hulaween. I love this place so much I can't wait to come back again

Located in Live Oak, way down upon the Suwannee river, the crown gem of this park has to be their natural amphitheater stage built right into the woods. It's a sight you have to see to truly believe, but since I'm writing a review, I'll try to paint you a picture. Imagine you're standing in a forest that starts to dip low, like shallow bowl. Follow wooden steps down to the center, through the trees, to a clearing where hundreds of people are gathered, waiting. Suddenly.. LIGHTS! MUSIC! Yellow, purple, blue and red shoot out and spread wide, illuminating the dark woods and filling the crowd with excitement as the music starts bouncing off the trees, reverberating back to the crowd and out to the furthest corner of the park. It's a concert like no other, and all who have experienced it become united by the memory. Festivals here go all night as attendees run around like kids on the loose until 5 am and later. Hop from stage to stage and see who's making sweet music, or romp around the campsites to see friends old and new. It's an adult playground made of nature; a blessing to enjoy. During the day, you can hang on the beach and swim in the river. If you're feeling brave go for the rope swing; just hold on to your tops ladies! :) I've never had the pleasure of camping at SOS on a non-festival weekend, but I can't imagine a place more peaceful. After attending six festivals here, I have to say I'm a lifelong fan. This is a must-see in the wild and wonderful state of Florida.

First of all, the guide we were assigned showed up in the worst guide owned fishing boat I have ever seen. Seats were torn, the motor would not run above idle speed, the depth finder was broken, etc. In addition, the guide had not been on the lakes in years. The fishing itself was quite poor. This place is advertised as a "big fish factory". It's anything but. We caught no fish over 2 lbs and the majority were considerably less than that. Save your money. This is a very expensive trip which is definitely not worth the money.

Being here maybe understand what day did Stephen Foster write the classic song "Way Down Upon the Suwannee River," the beauty and serenity here is a balm for your soul, both soothing and making you realize that there is more to this world than the hustle and bustle of the cities and the grind of your career. Just up the street from here is the local attraction that is known, at least locally, as the Graffiti Bridge. It is not that far off of Interstate 10 and worth the trip. I would hazard a guess that it would take you fifteen minutes out of your way and that is counting both going to and getting back on the highway. Once again, head over that way, you will not be disappointed. Check out both the springs and the Graffiti Bridge. You will be better for the experience.
