Best live festival venue I've ever been to. The environment is like nothing I've ever seen. Id come camping here even if there weren't kick ass festivals. Pros: solid general store with everything you would ever need at FAIR prices. Good luck finding that anywhere else. Lots of cools trees to set up a hammock and watch good tunes, Spanish moss.

Best camping/music park in America, hands down! Between the boundless amounts of laughter and music at the multiple bond fires, one might have a hard time fitting in time for swimming in the river or pool, disk golf, biking/hiking/equestrian trails etc... The amount of things to do is only limited by ones amount of time, energy and imagination. If you're more of a quiet or Back To Nature person, call ahead and make sure there's not a big Festival going on first. If you like big festivals, little festivals, bluegrass (ever Saturday)or perhaps a classic camper show , then this is the place! There truly is something here for everyone.

Sums up the quality of the single wide trailer.. I mean "Cabin" that we stayed in
    Stormtrooper H.

A group of us got a "cabin" at this place last weekend and were shocked when we got there. 1. The "Cabins" are actually small single wide trailers circa 1987? And while they are not totally run down, they are not in great shape. The 12" TV and non-working tape deck were among the highlights it had to offer. 2. At check in the woman at the front desk had some kind of affliction (like poison oak?) over her whole body, including her eyes which were almost swollen shut, and she kept rubbing them and then handling my credit card and paperwork. 3. The camp ground was 50% hippies, 25% rednecks, 25% retired folks, which was an interesting mix and we met some nice people. 4. The bugs were pretty thick, which you expect fro FLA, but still it needs to be said. 5. We kept reading about the "Bubba Slide" and when we got there they said it was closed 6. The pool was so nasty from lack of maintenance that after the first swim when we pulled literally 30 strands of 7"+ hairs out of it that were stuck to us we didn't go back in. 7. The whole time we were there we kept running into to really sad looking 5-7 year old kids whose parents apparently worked at the place that were basically running around on their own looking for something to do. 8. I stood in the restaurant for 5 minutes before walking into the kitchen and then the back area and never found anyone working, so I poured some coffee and left money on the counter. 8. People were partying and driving golf carts at all hours of the day and night, so that it was actually louder than our house in the city. I could go on and on, but I guess the bottom line is that if you go to this place for a show it sounds pretty cool, but if you are looking for a nice quiet spot to rent a cabin, this is not it.

    Christmas Light Drive - 2 's up!

Spirit of Suwannee is to be loved on a multitude of levels. Camping, music, Christmas Lights, food campfires, swimming just to name a few. We have been coming here for over 15 years. We typically travel from the East coast of Florida to the Alabama - Mobile Bay Area. This is a great midway point to set up our RV or primitive camp site. The Christmas light drive and walk through can easily take an hour offering awe and pure delight! The miss covered trees add romance and charm to the campsites as does the tall grasses in the field. Always nice to wander the property and then head to the music hall for some fantastic tunes! Camp store- Bear Necessities is ok for bare necessities., if you need something best to stop at the Busy Bee on your way in. *** If you want to crash just got a quick overnight.. And it's a holiday or festival weekend, call first. Their rates go up and $55 is a ridiculous amount to pay for a tent site for less than a 12 hr stay. And of course there is the brown river... Charming, great place to take a dip, jump from a rope or paddle... Although we have not YET paddled:)

It is unique the way the organizers make such an effort to foster a sense of tradition and not just focus on making a commercial music festival. The definition of folk music is fairly broad here - bluegrass, blues, Celtic, etc. It is mostly acoustic and a lot of emphasis on original songwriting (perhaps a homage to Stephen Foster). All the most beautiful sounds creative, acoustic songwriters can make inspired by a breathtaking natural setting. Just go to the river stage and you will understand. I will give you the negatives, but it gets 5-stars anyway EASILY. As with most festivals, the food vendors don't have a good selection, value, or quality. There is the occasional attempt at some different foods (hand churned ice cream) and regional (collard greens), so that is appreciated. Since it is May it is often hot and parking is a long walk but the stages are shaded and there are golf carts always offering you a ride to your next spot. Last year we stayed at Kelly's RV park down the highway and loved it. White Springs is a small town with places to camp all around. There is something magical about this festival whether you are from Florida, love Florida, or want to learn about Florida nature, history, and culture, just show up and it will happen. I am dumbfounded every time I meet someone who is from Florida and doesn't know about this festival.

The food vendor lines are incredibly long so don't come hungry. However, they do have some really good options. If you hit the dominos pizza line just right, you'll get a freshly delivered pizza with a low wait time. The bathroom lines were just as crazy. They do have porta potties that are much faster but if you want a real bathroom, you will need to wait. The shows seemed to be more entertaining than in previous years. All in all, it was a good time. Go into it expecting it to be packed with people and having to wait in lines but you will enjoy yourself. Depot Park is so much better of a venue than previous years and it was free...you can't really beat that.

So we missed a year of the fair because of the pandemic, but it has returned for 2022! With the…read morereturn comes a new location as well, as Alachua County has sold off the old fairgrounds by the airport. The new location off of Archer road near Haile Plantation has some things to be desired, but for a temporary location it wasn't so bad... at least, the fairgrounds themselves weren't that bad. The layout of the fair at the new location is different from the old two-lane model that was used at the airport. Now it is more of a quadrangle approach, with one quad assigned to vendors where you can buy all kinds of really expensive things that are half the price on the Internet, one quad assigned to food, one to the jousting field, and the final one assigned to the living chessboard and SCA fields. This actually presents a problem, because the location is the site of the old YMCA baseball fields, and the fences for the fields are still in place, creating barriers for a number of the areas and preventing the flow of people from one area to another. In addition, no longer is there a draw of people past some of the areas that they would normally have been drawn past in order to get to the jousting fields, which means that the SCA and living chess area had a lower flow of patrons, which is too bad because the living chessboard had its best year ever. Parking was also an issue, as the dirt road leading to the parking was rutted and kind of scary, particularly for those with lowered vehicles. Hopefully your suspensions are in good working order! Traffic to the fair is also an issue, with the line of traffic backing up along Archer Road all the way to the Interstate at a couple points during the day. As it is near Haile Plantation, a number of newer housing developments are in the area as well, and the added traffic was not a welcome thing to people living in the area, as could be witnessed by some signs along the road as you worked your way to the parking lot. It would be very surprising to see the medieval fair occur again at this location. As for the fair itself, it is about the same. Most of the same performers and vendors were there, and the horses did their thing by charging back and forth across the jousting field. Good times for those that want to see a good show and buy some expensive trinkets.

The weather was cool and comfortable -- perfect for camping without the Florida heat and humidity. The Christmas lights were AWESOME! The park does a fantastic job decorating, and it really puts you in the holiday spirit. Driving through the light displays in the evening was definitely the highlight of the trip. The campground itself was spacious and well-suited for RVs, and it worked great for a group stay. Plenty of room to spread out and enjoy time together. The only downside is there's not much to do in the immediate surrounding area. If you're looking for shopping, restaurants, or attractions outside the park, options are pretty limited. It's more of a "stay on property and relax" kind of destination -- which isn't necessarily bad, just something to know ahead of time. If you enjoy RV camping, holiday lights, and a laid-back atmosphere, this is a great seasonal getaway -- especially with a group. Would definitely consider going back for the Christmas display again!

The park has a good mix of rides and water attractions so there is enough to keep you busy. They also had a wide selection of animals on display which was great to see, though some of the habitats could have been a little bigger. The concert area looked legit even though we did not stay for the Taylor Swift cover band. Their lineup of performers also looks pretty strong so that is a nice bonus. The train ride to see the animals was worth it. We only waited about ten minutes but the line filled up fast so expect a longer wait if you go later. Lockers were also reasonably priced which was nice. The biggest downside was Waters Edge Brews and Bites. It seemed like the only place to get beer and it was pricey. More importantly it was very disorganized. It took a long time to get drinks and my stepdaughter waited a while for food as well. Everyone was friendly but it felt like no one really knew what was going on. I did not try the food myself so I cannot fully judge it. The park could also be a bit cleaner especially some of the bathrooms. Overall it is a fun park and worth checking out. I drove up from Gainesville and enjoyed it but would probably only come back if I was local or if there was a concert I really wanted to see.

Overall, it was a fun experience with some highs and a few things that definitely need improvement. First thing to note is parking is an additional $18. Not a dealbreaker, but something to factor in. When you arrive, it may look like you should park farther out, but the entrance gate is actually closer to where you first come in, so keep that in mind. Once we got to the entrance, security and ticket scanning were quick and easy, which was a great start. The park itself has a really nice mix of rides and animal attractions. We especially loved the safari train. It was such a unique experience seeing animals like lions, tigers, and even an anteater, plus getting a glimpse of the on site camping area, which honestly looks like a really cool concept. I do wish we had taken advantage of the giraffe feeding. Ride wait times were surprisingly minimal for a Saturday, which was a huge plus. The vintage Ferris wheel was one of our favorites. It was not only fun but gave us some great views and photos from the top. Bathrooms throughout the park were consistently clean and well maintained, which I appreciated. However, the restroom near the garden had a sink that would not shut off, with water constantly running. That seems like something that should be addressed, not just for maintenance but also waste. Food prices were fairly reasonable for a theme park, with one exception being beer. At $10 per can, it felt a bit steep, and both times we went to grab one, the stands were clearly understaffed. At one point, the employee actually asked us to open our own beers, which was a first. It did not bother us too much, but waiting around 7 minutes just to get a few beers was a little surprising. We did make it over to the water park side and enjoyed the lazy river, but unfortunately storms cut that part of the day short. Every water area was clean as well. I wish we had more time there. The park also has a nice mini concert area, which is a great way to wind down the day with live music. There is even a buffet option that looked like a solid affordable choice, though we did not get a chance to try it. A couple more things to note. Lockers are an additional $18 to $22 for the day, which adds up quickly. While we had a good time overall, the park could definitely benefit from some updates and a good power washing in certain areas. All in all, Wild Adventures has a lot of potential. It is a unique mix of a theme park and zoo, and if you go in expecting something about half the scale of a major Florida theme park, with pricing somewhat similar to places like Hersheypark, you will have a good idea of what to expect. With some improvements and more attention to detail, this place could be really great.
