We are pleased by the overall quality of care that our daughter received here. The medical assistant and nurse practitioner who saw our little one were friendly and excellent with our daughter. The nurse practitioner was knowledgable on the various illnesses currently going around and prescribed the appropriate medication for her. Overall, we are thankful that there are walk-in care options when primary care physicians do not have any availability for that given week. However, walk in care unfortunately does not see all types of patient complaints. If you have a sick child, this is definitely a viable option though.

Wait was definitely shorter and not many patients. After checking in at the front, I was immediately brought into the exam room. Within a few minutes, NP Thao Giang came in. Thao was very professional. She showed concerns and answered all my questions. After the examinations, she prescribed me antibiotics. Thao and the staff were very friendly. I managed to make a video visit appointment with Sutter walk in clinic two days later and was pleased even in my spacey state how helpful the intake staff was (phone call about three hours before check in) and I was promptly seen at my appointment time by a competent and helpful Nurse Practitioner, even though spacey me had my volume on zero and I needed to log in two times. My symptoms were addressed and I got prescribed a cough medicine and Paxlovid which was available later that afternoon. Definitely recommend a walk in video visit from this clinic, a first for me. I said I won't pay for a test that will reap no benefits if you are just going to tell me to go home and get rest. I asked to be tested for pneumonia but she refused, saying she won't test me if we don't rule out Covid and the Flu first. Ummm... WHAT? Pneumonia is a secondary infection that can develop anytime. As well, if I want to get tested and pay for a specific test I should be able to. I walked out so fast with no help. Come to find myself positive for pneumonia for another clinic a few days later. A different urgent care that actually listens to their patients, NOT this place. Never going to come here again. I arrived 15 minutes early with my QR code ready and Kaiser ID in hand. As I waited in line, it was obvious there was a significant miscommunication happening between another patient and a front desk representative. Despite that, one representative motioned for me to step forward after finishing with another patient. As I began to speak, I was abruptly cut off before I could complete even one sentence. The representative immediately re-entered the ongoing discussion between her coworker and the other patient, leaving me standing there mid-check-in. My child and I waited silently while both front desk representatives engaged in what felt like a loud and argumentative exchange with the other patient. It was disruptive enough that several people in the waiting area -- including security -- were visibly watching. I want to assume positive intent, but I did not feel acknowledged. There was no eye contact, no communication that I would be helped shortly, and no effort to make the situation feel calm or professional. Instead, I felt ignored while standing in the middle of what sounded like an escalating conflict. As someone who works in healthcare, I understand that difficult situations arise. I feel for both staff and patients in moments of frustration. However, professionalism and de-escalation are part of the role. The interaction felt loud, tense, and inappropriate for a pediatric setting -- especially in front of children. From my perspective, the patient next to me appeared confused and possibly faced a language barrier. Repeating information loudly and speaking over someone does not improve understanding. A calmer tone, different phrasing, or use of translation services might have been more effective. People come to medical appointments when they are not feeling their best. They are often anxious, sick, or overwhelmed. It is our responsibility in healthcare to lead with empathy, patience, and professionalism. My child and I did not feel welcome during this interaction. I hope future check-ins reflect the standard of care that your physicians provide. Please remember that how staff speak and behave -- especially in front of children -- leaves a lasting impression. I am disappointed!
