I went to Sutter urgent care in Mountain View and from the moment I got there I was treated terribly by a man named William/Will. It was so bad that I had to leave before I could get seen by a doctor. Another patient even corroborated how badly I was treated as he chimed in and confirmed it. If you'd like to have your desire to receive medical assistance be handled as if it is a horrible inconvenience that requires you to be treated with distain, go to Sutter and ask to have William/Will check you in. I've had need to use the facilities at the Mountain View PAMF Urgent Care Clinic a few times. Each time, the staff has been very attentive and competent. Depending on the urgency of the medical situation, when you are seen by a nurse or physician varies (understandably). I have been appropriately, somewhat under-treated, or over-treated by physicians. Most recently, an urgent care physician misdiagnosed my problem, in part because he ignored the symptoms I described to him. Instead of concentrating on an appropriate diagnosis, he check for a stroke-- even though he acknowledged that I had none of the symptoms of a stroke. Of course, the EKG and blood work all came back with no problems found. I was sent home with a "treatment plan" of being careful not to fall because I had had severe dizzy spells for a week, which continued after the visit because nothing had been done to help. I'd recommend using PAMF Urgent Care if you have a bad cut that won't stop bleeding after 30 minutes or your child has a high fever for a few days and the flu seems now to be making sounds in the child's chest. Also~ I think it's important that patients and patients' parents learn the difference between what's is a medical "urgency" and what is a non-threatening situation. Too many people show up at urgent care for problems that are not in any way urgent. read more

Omg.. had an appointment for 4pm. Checked in at 3.45pm (as requested by them) There was NOBODY when I got there.. I was the only one waiting. Then a couple came in 10 mins after me.. two more came in. 20 minutes later, EVERY single one of them got called to the back.. except of course me.. the one who was here before anyone else. I thought okay.. maybe their appt times were before mine and they came late. Then a lady came in.. with NO appointment! she was told she would need to wait for about an hour to be seen. Another 20 mins later.. i am still waiting for my name to be called.. SHE the no appointment lady got called to the back.. whats going on???!! So I asked the lady who checked me in.. just to make sure she really did check me in... her answer "im not sure....sorry" Finally my name was called.. they went to check my vitals.. took 5 mins.. then.. back in the lobby to wait some more for the doctor... This time not too bad.. waited 5 mins.. went back in.. wait another 5 mins for the doctor to see me. Took her 2 mins to see me... then said someone will come to take an xray on my finger (oh.. i had a bike accident.. bent my pinky backward.. and all this time waiting i had to refrain myself not to look at my pinky... coz it really looked freaky) So i waited in the room for someone to get me to take the xray.. doc said he should be here quick... 10 mins.. 20 mins... 30 mins... then finally the light in the room turned off! I guess they are motion sensored... and I wasnt really moving around much.. so guess the light got tired waiting too... So I went out of the room trying to get someone to help me.. coz the light didnt come back on completely when i tried to move around the room... the guys behind the counter looked surprised seeing me coming out of the room... and he was like "oh err oh.. sorry.. err.. the doc shOuld be there shortly.. err.. she errr had an emergency call.. errzz sorry abt that.. doc should be there soon" So i told him .. the doc saw me already and im waiting for someone to get an xray for my finger (showed it to his face) and he said "yikes!" .. Back to the room.. waited another 10mins before I got the xray taken... then told to go back to the lobby to wait some more. I am very grateful to the awesome people at Urgent Care. Everyone there was super professional, kind and understanding. It was a long day, but I knew it would be. You can wait in your car or outside, and they will call you when they are ready for you. Each professional I worked with made sure that I was comfortable, and that I understood the procedure, and why it was being done a certain way. All my questions were answered thoroughly. My prescription was ready at my pharmacy before I was back home. My recommendation is that if your situation is not urgent, try to go during lower volume times. I highly recommend Urgent Care. "Urgent" in the title seems dishonest as there isn't anything immediate about the care received. Even at 8am when they first open, the wait time is one hour. Is this a staffing issue? Somehow since the last time I came her till now this place has become a pediatric urgent care, so unless you are a child with a cold do not come here. I was told it would be an hour and fifteen minute wait. I was in a lot of pain so I decided to wait it out. Two hours later, after the waiting room emptied and filled up again at least three times, after a woman with a child walked by stating it was a lot quicker than the 45 minutes she was quoted, a nurse came for me to take my vitals. Thirty minutes after that I see a doctor who tells me to make an appointment with a doctor during office hours as there is nothing she could do. I ended up going to the emergency and a nurse there did what the a doctor at PAMF/Sutter couldn't/wouldn't do. PAMF/ Sutter has created a facility that's structured to fail. They cater to a very specific clientele at all costs. I can't help but wonder, if I had went to an adult UC would you make children wait around for two hours to be seen? What happened to first come first serve? I've already taken the majority of my health maintenance elsewhere. I have a general Doctor here and I don't even think it's worth keeping her to deal with the nightmare PAMF/Sutter has become. BTW- a half an hour after I arrived at the emergency room, another couple from PAMF/Sutter showed up. Clearly that UC is only capable of giving out antibiotics and stickers. Should have known better from the reviews! An over worked staff often makes more mistakes, they show signs of stress & fatigue as well. This is common place with everyone I met here minus the friendly x-ray technician who actually appear to be enjoying her day & career. I was hit by a car & FYI the driver did not stop after illegally merging over solid line into the bike lane too early to make a right hand turn. No blinker of course. Last thing I saw was them looking at me in their rear view before speeding away. Early morning no whiteness or nearby cameras, they got lucky. I had serious knee pain so I went here because I am new to the area & did not know any better. They initially diagnosed me to likely have an LCL tear based on movement, X-ray came up clean apparently, they suggested I come back for more scans gave me a knee brace & sent me on my way. I received a call 24 hours later, after walking 20+ miles measured by fitness tracker in day to day activity, saying they MAY have found a fracture making my injury a non weight bearing type & I should be using crutches. I want so badly to blame the doctor for making this HUGE mistake, in my line of work I would loose my job for much less. Curious why we even had an X-ray if they didn't take a good look at it? (Likely just so they could bill my insurance for it as they will try to do with more scans). Now I have potentially injured myself further by walking on a broken leg?! Thanks docs bet you'll do nothing for me in return per usual. This is not my first major injury as an amateur athlete, & doctors are inherently lazy because they are are often over worked, or have no personal interest in your recovery. My advise is find a doctor who does have a reason to invest in your health. Make sure they have a good reputation in the medical community & with their staff as well. I understand my criticism here could be directed to our country's Medical Care in general as this is found all over no just this location. read more

I went to Urgent care a little after 8pm with glass all over the bottom of my foot. They told me that adults are not allowed after 8pm. I explained I have glass all over the bottom of my foot. They had NO empathy and sent me home the same way I entered the Urgent Care. It was a horrible experience. Also, the waiting room of this Urgent Care is always crammed with very sick people (coughing etc) and waiting for hours to be seen. Now if I am sick I just stay home. If you are an adult, even if you are totally and completely ill and barely breathing, if it is after 8pm (even a minute after) definitely go somewhere else to get care. read more

My experience with the pediatrician was fine. One major concern was the packed common waiting area filled with coughing and sneezing adults. My baby is 7 m old and had to wait in the same area with them. I think even a well conditioned adult may walk out sick after ten minutes in that waiting room. read more

To begin with the staffs are extremely rude. I went for a bad allergic rhinitis to this urgent care as walk in and did not have a prior appointment. The receptionist rudely told me that I have to wait 1-1.5 hrs. She refused to give me an extra adult mask when I requested for it. After 1 hour, The doctor came for 5 min and without even touching me , advised an over the counter medication and suggested me to visit my primary care provider instead. The second thing that bothered me was that the waiting area for pediatric urgent care and the general urgent care were common which means infants and kids are susceptible more to germ born illnesses from sick adults visiting the urgent care. read more

I came to check in at 1.45 pm and they told me waiting time would be two and a half hours. I've been waiting more than two and a half hours and the front desk told me that I would be the next person but there was a nurse came out and called other patients even though they came in after me. I asked the front desk why and that nurse just came and told me that there were other patients more important than I was even though they came after I came. The worst was that she kept getting other patient charts and just ignored my chart. She kept calling other patients until I had to ask another nurse who came out to talk to the patient that how long I would be ignored just because I was considered that I was not important or not emergency enough to be seen by the doctor. I asked if I had to wait until midnight or be the last person to be seen because I was considered not important and/or not emergency enough despite coming earlier than those patients she judged important/emergency. I was willing to wait for two and a half hours that didn't mean I didn't have anything to do/go the rest of the day. Every patient who comes to an urgent care because he/she thinks that it's urgent to be seen and diagnosed by the physician at the urgent care than waiting to see his/her primary doctor in the next two or three weeks. They should be treated equally by first come first serve and should not be talked in front of their faces by the nurse even though they don't talk to that nurse at all. read more

Am I in the Silicon Valley? Doesn't seem like it. Imagine this, in the heart of the Silicon Valley, you're a very sick (fever, sinus infection, etc.) customer (yes, believe it or not healthcare workers, patients are actually customers) on a Saturday and need urgent care. I reluctantly visit this location as it's where many of my Drs are Saturday at 11:45. It's a zoo, all seats taken, overflowing into the clinic area, everyone coughing and aching. I wait in line and finally see someone and they tell me it's at least a 2hr wait to see a Dr. Well, I've been suffering for several days prior to it getting bad enough to come, 2hrs is no big deal. To their surprise, doesn't bother me at all. I think, huh, can you call me or page me when my time is drawing near? I would hate to stand here or go find a seat next to a bunch of coughing sick people (I don't have a cough... yet... but sitting in that area I'd be certainly to catch one). Suddenly the mood changes... What's wrong with me? Why the hell would I rather go home to my sofa and nap and watch football laying down comfortably when i can be sitting straight up in agony by others in a similar state... Waiting for who knows how long? I'm clearly some kind of A-hole based on how that question was greeted. Along with a no, I got an added "and, if you're not here when we call your name, we cancel your spot all together so you had better stay, if you leave, don't leave for more than an hour or so to be safe". What??? So, I go home, lay down, set an alarm, and an hour later it goes off. i get up with pounding head and no energy miserable, but somehow alert enough to think: Hey, I should call these guys and see where I'm at in line in case it's still far out... So I do. What an A-hole I must be again. I muster my most pleasant voice knowing the recent reception I had in person and ask if I may know my spot in the queue at the moment. What do I get? You guessed it? "We do NOT give that information over the phone, you need to be here in person to find out". To which I said "Thanks for the complete lack of customer service, goodbye" and headed in pissed. I write this while I'm sitting here in the waiting area literally sandwiched like a sardine by two serious coughs and many more all of the place. It's like a war zone in here, fortunately / unfortunately, I got a seat though. I go ask my spot in queue since now I'm here in person miserable and they tell me I'm 14th. It's been an hour and a half. So i'm thinking I have another 30min. But no, I go up frequently to ask where I'm at since i'm here in person and have that privilege despite being a mere lowly customer of this place. Finally, an hour and a half later, a full 3hrs since i originally walked in and ended up spending about 2hrs of it in that damn waiting area, I get called in. I see the Dr for about 1min, as i'd expected, get a prescription for what she asked me I wanted, and I left. I should note that this Dr and my other Drs in PAMF are all very well liked by me. I'd long ago given my family Dr there 5 stars. Here's the deal, and it's a message for the person who runs PAMF Mountain View and the person that runs that Urgent Care that has 1.5 stars (about as low as possible) on Yelp: The Sutter brand stands dependent on the service you provide your customers directly. Yes, CUSTOMERS! Patients too, yes, I agree, but have zero understanding why there's a difference. In urgent care, you arguably have the worst customers on earth... Very sick and miserable ones. To force them to sit amongst each other, in an uncomfortable chair tightly pack for many hours is ridiculous by any measure (I'm not arguing the wait time, I do understand supply / demand). To improve your urgent care: - Fire the person running it immediately. The staff is rude, has no clue of customer service nor operations. I don't know what they actually do other than caretake an extremely outdated process with no innovation and no customer service training. - Get rid of 80% of the desk staff in favor of automation. They are generally useless except for the 5-10% of cases that need special / immediate attention. Instead, have us log in remotely or at a kiosk there with the necessary information. The staff have no idea how to adeptly handle customers, especially sick ones anyway. - Adopt old technologies like a text paging system to alert you when your ~4th in line (like 15-30min wait) since it should be abundantly obvious keeping anyone waiting ""right there" for 3hrs is unacceptable, especially sick / contagious people. - You could / should adopt a visual system so I know where I am on the list in person (on a TV screen) and on the internet too. Can be by a given number or by initials or last name, whatever. - Last note to overall site owner, consider firing yourself too. This is elementary and shocking that Sutter would allow the brand damage. Hastens my move to Stanford. read more

The allergy patch test procedure which was recommended and prescribed by the doctor with the approximate cost estimate given to the patient and signed by the patient was charged 3 times to bypass the maximum limit set by the insurance company for this procedure with the total cost approximately 2.5 times larger. No understanding or excuses from the billing department later. Only one explanation that they did everything correct. Be aware of the possible huge overcharges, and don't believe in the preliminary estimate of their cost. I'm very much hesitate to go the doctor now. Our appointment time was honored with minimal wait. The doctors and nurses have been caring and attentive. Sutter Urgent Care provided excellent care when my nine month old son had an allergic reaction after we exposed him to dairy at home under our (wonderful!) allergist's guidance. (You win some food challenges, you lose some ...) They responded like an ER and provided a level of care just below what a full ER would have provided and after stabilizing him sent him on to the nearby ER for observation since they were undergoing renovations and had a limited number of bays available. If you have CHRONIC pain do not set foot in this place!! I wish I could give them something lower than 1 Star. I had the worst experience of my life here today. Let me start by saying this is a facility I have been to before and for the same chronic pain issue I went in for today. I checked into the urgent care about 11:45 AM. They told me it would be over an hour wait, but it didn't take that long -great. Then I got in a room and waited over half an hour to even see a doctor. Then waited about half an hour for a nurse to come put in an IV and draw blood. Over 30 minutes later a different nurse comes in with nausea meds and an anti-inflammatory that I already take for my pain. I asked for the doctor to be sent in because I knew it wouldn't help for my pain. The doctor was never sent in. I walk out of my room and up to the nurses desk and had to say excuse me (while walking with my IV stand and wearing a gown) because apparently nobody noticed I was standing there, to ask where the restroom was so I could give a urine sample. Pretty ridiculous that there were at least ten people standing around that desk and no one asked if the person in the gown and IV stand needed help. I thought that was their job? After that i was waiting for the doctor to come back in like I had asked. Guess what? She never did. My sister went out and asked the same nurse that we had in the first place why had the doctor not come in. Her response was: "we are waiting on the results from the urine test and now she is in with another patient so you will have to wait until after she is finished with them. Then I will send her in to you." I had asked to see the doctor before I even gave a urine sample. When the doctor finally came back to my room it had been over an hour since I had last seen her. During that whole period of time not once had a nurse or anyone come in and checked on me, asked if I needed anything or was doing ok. By that time I was in tears because my pain had gotten much worse in the almost three hours I had been there. Doctor: "I can see you are not doing any better since you are crying. I know you are not going to want to hear this but I can not give you anything else for the pain. Our policies on treating people with chronic pain have changed" SERIOUSLY?! One: Why didn't you tell me that an hour ago. Two: you knew I was having a chronic pain flare up why did no one tell me somewhere in the last three hours that you would not be able to properly treat my pain. I would never recommend this facility to anyone. LEAST of all anyone who has chronic pain. It is discriminatory, disrespectful and the worst experience I've ever had. Good urgent care because they have more technology but they have poor service. Most people were nice, but one nurse was extremely extremely rude. I already have stomach pain and she made me want to cry. Would only suggest going here if you need technology to get CAT scan, most urgent cares do not offer this. Can I give zero stars? Overworked understaffed office made my visit a miserable 2 hours and 45 minutes (by the time stamp on my paperwork), but by my clock says was even longer. Checked in and was told there was a 30 to 60 minute wait. Almost three hours later I was finally out the door with a high level of frustration. I finally was taken for vitals after an hour and 45 minutes. Then back in the waiting room until the finally put me in a room 2 hours after I got there. Another 45 minutes later I was re-dressed with a prescription in hand. I'm not counting the time where the doctor left me in the room to "check" whether the pharmacy was still open or not and finally "caught" me in the hallway after I decided to get dressed because it didn't seem like the doctor was coming back. Their paper work says 2:45. My notes had it over 3hours. I have used this facility since the day it opened but have been in urgent care only twice. This was miserable and pathetic. Been coming here for check ups and lab stuff for several years now. Doctors tend to be alright with some lemons here and there. Staff is like 60% helpful and nice, and the other 40% are pretty miserable and clearly hate their jobs (so the 3 stars). Facilities are clean for the most part but really when almost half the staff start every interaction jittery and angry, it's not a great experience. I am a patient of PAMF, and was told to go to the PAMF Urgent Care Center in Mountain View by a nurse practitioner in my healthcare team. I am currently experiencing fluid and pressure in my inner ear, and it's causing me to have severe vertigo and nausea from the dizziness. I was so dizzy last night that I vomited. I feel completely awful. A lady at the urgent care told me to come into the building (5/26/21 around 12:40pm). I walked up to the desk and a young lady started helping me. She asked me to explain my symptoms. I started explaining that I have severe dizziness and I think it could possibly be related to a sinus infection, as I suffer frequently from sinus infections. As I was talking to that lady another lady who was standing behind comes up and cuts me off, instantly has an upset tone in her voice, and asks me if I'm having any runny nose or coughing. I tell her no and say I have sinus pressure and pressure in my ears. She told me she couldn't hear me so i was having to try to explain my story and symptoms very loudly in from of others in the waiting room. She kept cutting me off and not letting me explain. There were three ladies just standing there looking at me rolling their eyes and talking to each other. Another lady in scrubs, who I believe is a nurse, then walks up and says that's what I'm saying doesn't make sense and "she's hearing me say all different kinds of things." She starts asking me rudely to explain my symptoms and to only answer yes and no to her questions. She was instantly upset with me too. I kept trying to explain that I get vertigo when I have sinus issues because it messes with my inner ears. No one would let me talk. There were three ladies just bombarding me with angry tones and questions, who wouldn't let me speak, and just kept cutting me off. I physically felt so sick and stressed, and then I just was verbally ganged up on by 3 women for no reason! It was such a horrible experience. I can't believe they did that to me and for no reason. The only thing I can think of is that maybe they were trying to figure out if I had covid and they were scared of me. I have no clue. One lady then got my information so I could be seen. She was standing behind the woman who was originally helping me telling her what to do on the computer. I went outside to wait, but I ended up leaving because I was treated so horribly. That was such a stressful experience, and it was humiliating have to loudly say what's wrong with me in the waiting room with other patients, as 3 women angrily gang up on me to question me and cut me off. This treatment of patients is so extremely messed up! I cannot believe this happened. I'm so disappointed. read more

Disappointing. I went in for a throat and chest pain the focal point being throat since it was starting to get painful swallowing even water. I suspected the chest pain was mainly due heartburn. Wait time was ~2.5hrs The Dr who came in to see me spent a total of maybe 2 minutes and was in a rush to go get her summarized printout. What I found frustrating was that she did not even give me enough time to address the various issues I came in for. She was quick to order me an inhaler and told me to flush my sinuses. When I mentioned that I don't have congestion/snot/sneezing, she said it always helps her. When I asked if there are potential concerns for taking the inhaler while breastfeeding, she printed out paper and told me to read through it. In the end, my insurance will get billed for a service that lasted 2 minutes where I walked out with my throat tissue and have to go home research ways to remedy the pain and also check to see what may be causing it. I find it insulting that I had to spend so much time waiting to be seen, then only to not even get a chance to address the issue, and be rushed out of there with no solution, where I have to seek help somewhere else. Took an elderly patient to be seen after a possible head & back injury. Front desk was amazing. Kind, patient and informative. The triage nurse was also amazing (thank you Dante). Very patient with the patient who was anxious and confused. Dante facilitated the pt being seen quickly. The bad starts with the physician. He, Dr. Curtis, was abrupt and condescending to the patient. He continued to interrupt the patient, who again was confused, and kept saying "I need to know why you are here". He also interrupted me and cut me off. I am the care give. Then we he told us, "Sutter doesn't pay to have a CT tech around so we can't do anything. You have a choice. You can go home and come back tomorrow or go to the ER." I asked if they could call the ER and register us ahead of time and, I am sure thanks to the nursing staff and not the doctor, that did happen.
