Nurses and front desk staff are very lovely people. However physician Shabnam made me feel incompetent after forgetting instructions she swore she had told me a week before. I do take responsibility for that, but the way I was spoken to was incredibly rude. She also wanted to send a culture out that she was "pretty sure" my insurance will cover because it usually does. I now have to pay $300 out of pocket for that test. I have had good experiences with different doctors here before but I will not be returning after this experience. read more

Today is 4/26/2025 my first time to visit this urgent care clinic. The place felt and looked very comfortable. There was a patient in front of me, so I saw that they had a large video that introduced their staff, and who the attending physician is today. When it was my turn, the front desk gentleman was very nice and friendly. I saw that their environment and the individual patient room was very clean and the nurse were very friendly too. I also saw that their bathrooms were also very clean too. I met the physician, who is a PA, and was very knowledgeable and did a very careful check on me. On 12/23 My appt is at 3:30. I checked in and had me fill out 4 pages, it will be nice this form be available on line because all information are pretty much the same. Finally at 4:15 they took me in, they took my weight and at 4:35 the doctor came in and asked me if I filled out a diagraph to draw where my pain is. So he got me a form and had me fill out. It took me less than 5 minutes and now I'm back waiting for another 20 minutes. After the visit the Dr Alan McClintik asked me that on the follow up meeting on 12/27 he maybe a little & if I wouldnt mind to wait due to in between patients, which I agreed. I did not leave the place until 5:35 pm. Now 12/27 at 11 am via medcall I got a call that the person took the information messed up and put me in on-site visit. So they reschedule at 3:40 pm on 12/27. I logged in at 3:35 pm and waited until 5:02 pm and no show. Seriously?!!! This type of service should not be practiced in medical field. This is disrespectful of others peoples time. And yet if there's a no show they charged for a no show or if you are late more than 15 min some places they cancel Your appt. How is this fair?!!! This has been a very frustrating month with Instant Urgent Care. This has been first time in 6 years that I have considered switching providers. I'm not switching just yet but I am here to share my side of the story I've been seeing instant urgent care for 6 years for my regular adderal refill. Once a month every month. The last 5 months (from October and 5 months back) I saw the same provider at instant urgent care. I showed up at Instant Urgent Care on November 13, 2024 as per usual. 11:30 am check in and pay the full amount $179 for my visit. a nice nurse takes me in and I wait for my doctor. She shows up around 25 minutes later says that she will only fill 7 days of medication and says I need to do my blood work at Quest (and mentions a bunch of other things) and rushes me out the door. I did manage to get clarity of requirements the doctor had mentioned after carefully discussing and clarifying with the staff at front and reviewing my printed summary visit. Fast forward, I set up my appointment for blood work with Quest. After 1hour of waiting at quest for my blood to be drawn they are refusing to do my blood work because the provider didn't put her name on the paper. I had to beg them to do my blood work after talking to the manager and them reviewing my Instant Urgent Care charge. I am provided a quote of $680 for this visit because again my Instant Urgent Care made an error and put that I have insurance even though I have never used insurance at Instant Urgent Care and have always paid out of pocket. Same day I make appointment with the manager I spoke to before from Instant Urgent Care and he sets me up for a Telemedicine appointment for my usual adderal prescription with a previous doctor I have worked with before. He promises me that I can review the blood work and get my refill. So I am confident that everything is good to go. Well December 5 comes along and I await for the Telemedicime appointment. The doctor logs on and says they don't do refills, I told her well you know that the manager said it's possible-- she gets on the phone with him and gets back to me and cancels the appointment with me. She said that the manager will call me. I get charged $100 for this canceled appointment. I waited for the Manger to call me yesterday and he never called. I called Instnat Urgent Care and was told he was in a meeting but that the nice lady from "patient services" Said she will help me with the overcharge of $680. I was relives to hear this and get off in good spirit. I have tried to email support and billing support at Instant Urgent Care (no response). I am still hoping to set up an appointment with my provider. I didn't know it wad against their policy to do a refill via Telemedicine. I would not of scheduled something I knew would be canceled. To give a recap for those that don't like to read: 1) I paid upfront for $179 usual medical refill (out of pocket) receive only a 7 day supply instead of my usual 30 day supply. 2) was charged 500 above what I am normally charged at Quest because the provider didn't put that I pay out of pocket on the form) 3) charged $100 for a virtual visit that wad canceled by not myself but the provider Sadly still hopeful I can recoup the $100,cost and set up an appointment with my former doctor but at this point this is so embarrassing that I was signed up for an appointment that she's not allowed to do. So just want to blurry my head in the sand out of the humiliation I feel from all of this that has happened this month. I'm not sure if I have shed more tears this month over $1000 without a single refil of the normal amount I have been going to get or if I've cried more over the unanswered emails, waiting on a call that goes nowhere (Very hard to talk to someone) or the frustration of waiting for a phone call (foe two days still waiting) for the embarrassment of the 10 hours of missed work for a medication I typically get filled in less than 2 hours. (Cause they never see you on time). I didn't want to write a negative review but want to share my story please be a smarter patient than myself. read more

Slow to act on active bleeding urgent care appointment. Didn't have supplies for options during procedure. Spent over 2 hours on site to get stitches. Care of wound was rough and caused additional bleeding. Unable to fully complete procedures scope. Location did not have accommodations for the practitioner and patient size difference. I'll start off by saying I have Kaiser Insurance which I knew they wouldn't take, and heck, if I hadn't known it before going I sure would have as soon as I entered. I came into the office to overhear the reception going off about "Why was a Kaiser Permanente patient coming here?" My throat has been on fire and I wanted to see a doctor that day and see if anything could be done, as I had a performance to do in hours. Calling Kaiser for advice would mean to wait for treatment, going to their Emergency Room would mean to wait for treatment. I wasn't looking for cost effective, I was looking for professional and fast, so that perhaps I could have something that could help me get through back-to-back performances that afternoon. I am not poor. I did not care the cost.... What I DID care about was not to be condescended to about how much money I was wasting coming there and how to properly use my insurance--I KNOW HOW TO USE IT I JUST KNOW IT'S SLOW AND I NEEDED SOMETHING THEN. But did they ask? No. They proceeded to talk to me like I was stupid. So, I waved off the cost, whatever. I don't care. I just want to be seen. The receptionist, seeing that I am struggling to talk through my sore throat starts asking me registration questions, though I'd filled out the form online. I informed her of this, and she said that I hadn't, because she didn't see any forms. And then...she looked. There they were. Oh. Saw the doctor, first thing he did was make a comment about my weight. Oh, you have Kaiser. Did they make you do a sleep study. They made me do one because I'm overweight, too. No, they didn't make me do a sleep study, and yes, yes, I know I'm fat. I hate doctors who don't know you and fat shame, because do they bother to find out that you've actually lost a lot of weight and still are, that you're working out and eating better? No. Just, you're fat. Have you had your eyes checked this year? Have you had your physical? Because you're fat, and not to mention Black, and diabetes... Ugh. So, yeah, I did forget to mention that one of my medications is Flonase for allergies. I wasn't firing on all cylinders. Doctor proceeds to say yeah, it looks like strep--I see a lot of white patches, but the tests are coming back negative (strep tests rarely come back positive unless your strep is bad). It looks like you have something called a rhinovirus... Me: A cold? Yes. You can speak to me as if I'm someone who knows something. I won't get into my background, but it is not one of a dummy. So, then he says take Claritin or Zyrtec. These are meds I cannot take--gives me heart palpitations. No, I didn't list them as meds I might be allergic to, I will start if it stops doctors from talking to me like an idiot. I tell him I take Flonase and he lectures about how Flonase won't help with sinuses and takes 10 days to work. Hmm... my GP prescribed Flonase because I can't take the other stuff and she says it's the only thing that'll help with sinuses, clogged ears and allergies, and it does. And 10 days, fine, I take it daily anyway. So, he writes a prescription for antibiotics just in case and tells me to take them later if I'm not feeling better. I really have to pin him down on when "later" is. I'm actually a very good patient and follow instructions to the letter. Then, he also lectures me about just going to Kaiser. You know what? I will. The only useful thing I got from them was antibiotics I didn't have to jump through hoops to get (meaning I'd have to call Kaiser, get someone on the phone, have them send me somewhere, and then have to wait and walk around to their pharmacy when I had literally 3 hours to show time.). Please ask people about their choices instead of judging and talking down to them, and don't assume a fat person is sick because they are fat. Just say, hello, ask questions, probe a little more if you need better answers--because remember, you are talking to someone who doesn't feel well or is in pain--and give a diagnosis. I say this, because I felt that the doctor was more concerned about my being diagnosed with diabetes because I'm fat and Black than looking at my poor throat. I was insulted and left the office with nothing to help me. Just knew that I might have strep throat and I'd pick up the antibiotics the next day. Follow up--Throat still felt like sandpaper and glass the next day. Looked at my own throat and saw the thick white patches. Got the antibiotics along with other over the counter and home remedies I researched. Turns out, I also have a sinus infection that was compounding things. Doctor never asked about phlegm or fevers. Just if I'd had my physical and eye exam that year--to make sure I didn't have diabetes. I will never go to this place again. There was nothing like going on stage to be in front of an audience with a horrible sore throat, a croaky voice and feeling fat and belittled because of a horrible experience at this office. Incredibly inconsistent. First time I went there was a very patient doctor who listened and properly helped me. I did a walk in and only waited 20 minutes and the fee was reasonable. 5 stars if they had that level of care everytime but sadly they don't. Every time since then has been me being seen by people who aren't doctors. Some seem to be wildly guessing. And I don't know how much I owe because they send bills after I already paid before leaving. One guy thought my headache was a brain aneurysm and I figured out later it was because I had a bad glasses prescription. He meant well but I've never had such a widely dramatic diagnosis over something like a headache. read more

I would have rated five star because the people who were there handling the administration of Covid tests were great, clear, and caring. My issue came with trying to get results of a rapid test. 15 minute results that should have been given immediately instead never showed up. They were unreachable despite multiple attempts by phone test and email for hours afterward. Then when I finally received the results, they came in an encrypted PDF where the password was not shared with me. So I'm now waiting as long as a PCR test for rapid test results. I went to the urgent care facility for my Mom who was visiting from India. We called the insurance and they gave us the address of this facility as it was in network. She has UnitedHealthcare visitor's insurance. When we showed them the insurance card they said they accept that visitor's insurance. Although the insurance had a copay of $15 they made me pay the full amount upfront before my Mom could see the doctor. Not just that, they made us take the $175 covid test when i went to Palo Alto facility, which they mentioned would not be covered by insurance which I had to pay upfront. There was another person at the counter who had the same issue but was exempted. After a couple of weeks I called them as I needed to file the claim for insurance. They said they have no billing department. I asked for an itemized bill as the insurance had asked me. The customer rep said they will look into it. She was super unfriendly. I have no hope of getting an itemized bill from them. Very shady practice. I would give 0 rating to this practice. WORST place ever! read more

We actually had a positive experience here. My daughter was sick and i just wanted her seen quickly. All the pediatric urgent care had 5 hour walk in waits and even the minute clinic was booked today. This is not the greatest time to get sick. It was easy to make an online appointment, so much availability . When we walked in, just handed my insurance card and it was all set. Was seen right away. The medical assistant looked uncomfortable dealing with children (checking blood pressure, just interacting) but the doctor (PA) was very comfortable in talking to my daughter and speaking/interacting with her. The PA was very thorough, listened to our concerns, and was able to help us. When the original pharmacy did not have the medicine available, the office had no issues resending the prescription to another pharmacy that I called that had the medication. Dr.Ma misdiagnosed as bacterial infection during the first visit, then fungal infection for the follow-up visit and 3rd visit (within the same week) claiming its rupture eardrum and finally "I don't know what it is" all this while they were trying to clean my ear. They mentioned their other ear cleaning tool was broken. It is unacceptable to run a clinic without basic tools and tackles. Just for the visit which involved saying - "I don't know what is happening in there" and a vague referral, a bill of $555 in totaly. Stay away from this "urgent care". Please find a better facility and save yourself the mental trauma. I then had an appointment with a proper ENT who said its none of the above, eardrum is intact. My experience was awful. I ran to the their clinic on a holiday while feeling terrible of having viral and bacterial infections in my body. Rude and aggressive Dr who didn't even let me explain my symptoms and interrupted me several times. He prescribed 3 medications and when I was leaving the clinic, I was told by the front desk person that doctor has changed his mind(!) and he just wants me to pick up the eye drop and that she was going to cancel the other 2 orders to pharmacy. I went to the pharmacy to pick up and guess what!! The EYE DROP was out of the order and the other 2 med was ready to pick up. I was calling them for an hour to ask for the correction and got no answer until they closed. So, I went back home with infected eyes and had to wait for the next day to go to another clinic. Not to mention that don't trust their online booking system. I booked an appointment online and received confirmation email and all the info but when I called to make sure it was confirmed, I was told that their location was closed and I had to book for a different location! read more

The doctor was actually OK, no complaints really. The billing department is completely incompetent. After weeks and weeks of requesting an itemized bill, I still had nothing. They are condescending and seem to pretend to not understand this very basic request. It's like they have something to hide? I think normally customers just cave and they don't provide this information. Ridiculous. They coded a 30-40 min visit (for a visit that was at most 15 minutes in reality) and it cost $199 before the insurance discount. Oh give me a break (these other reviews), the VA sent me to this location 970 W El Camino, Sunnyvale since the VA was all booked up. I had a persistent cough and needed an actual DR to check me out and prescribe. The solution was "OUT-OF-STOCK" at my CVS and several CVS's Dr. Tansuwan, called. I went to my CVS for another drug that was waiting and asked them where I should look for the Cough Medicine Prescribed. They told me I should go to a 24 Hour CVS. The Dr called me later to see if I had found the stuff yet so she could send over the prescription. Then she found a 24 Hour CVS that had the stuff and I could pick it up in 30 minutes. Sunnyvale Instant Urgent Care took my VA ID with no other questions asked. I thought these people were GREAT!! read more

BEWARE! Instant Urgent Care is completely incompetent. Good luck trying to reach a live person on the phone. All calls go directly to voicemail and they do not return calls. They don't respond to email either. Instant Urgent Care refused to bill my insurance, even though my insurance verified that they would pay the bill quickly once it is filed. I called and left messages 10 times, as well as wrote numerous emails to Instant Urgent Care. They NEVER responded. I did receive an email from one of the doctors, promising he would forward my information to the billing department. Apparently, not. Now they have forwarded the bill to a collections agency. When I told the collection agency that they simply need to file with the insurance company to get the bill paid, they refused. AVOID this urgent care like the plague!!!!!! Called every so often over the course of 3 days trying to schedule a generic appointment with a pcp as I haven't seen one in a while. I called 2 numbers, no one ever picked up the phone. I'm in no rush, no big deal. I decided to just go into the office to schedule said appointment. Long story short it seems to me the two chicks working at the desk just silenced the phones or something and ignore them. I was looking to establish how to effectively communicate with the office as me driving to the office isn't the way I want 100% of our communication to work, and they got defensive, assuring me that the phones worked but they also had a call center and contradicting themselves in the span of 10 seconds. Over the course of maybe 2 minutes I went from looking to make an appointment with a pcp to realizing that these are not people I ever want to bother doing business with. I'm looking for a pcp I can rely on, not front office workers that play games with my time. read more

My wife had significant and growing pain, so we came to urgent care to make sure it wasn't something serious. The physicians assistant misdiagnosed it and prescribed topical treatments. 48 hours later the pain was so extreme we went to emergency. The emergency physicians assistant took one look and realized it was an abscess. She was shocked that any trained medical professional could have missed what it really was. They put my wife on morphine and performed surgery early the next morning. We went to urgent care to get an informed opinion on what the issue was, but instead we came out with a false sense of security. My wife was in severe pain far longer than she should have been, and it could have been far worse if we'd waited longer. I would avoid this place if you're looking for a reliable diagnosis of a medical issue. read more

I was happy with the service of the medical staff especially the nurse practitioner man,I believe. He was extremely friendly and helpful. I saw Dr.Alla, she was great too but afterwards was a complete mess. I had been prescribed medication for a sore throat and this was my first time coming here since I usually go to my doctor near my hometown. I asked for a print out of the pharmacy location or any paper indicating the medication I needed, since I'm used to getting something like that. The front desk lady said the printer wasn't working so I just clarified the pharmacy I had to go to. I got to the pharmacy the following day for my medication and they had no record of me. I called Urgent Care but no one picked up so I left a voicemail and waited for a call back and nothing. I called around 5pm the next day, I told them my situation and I was told to be put on hold so they could ask a different doctor to send my medication because the doctor I saw wasn't there. I was hung up on by accident I'm assuming but no one tried to call me after that. I called an hour later and the lady said she tried calling the pharmacy but it was closed so she would follow up with me the NEXT day BUT I did not get a follow up either. I am a full time college student and work as well so I don't have time to be playing phone tag all day long.This was extremely frustrating. My appointment was on a Saturday and I was not able to get my medication 5 DAYS AFTER. This was ridiculous and completely unorganized. The appointments are convenient and I waited no longer than 15 minutes. They instantly sent prescriptions to my pharmacy and I was able to pick them up the same day (if the pharmacy isn't closed). I rarely give out one star reviews but this place really earned it. On my first visit I requested that my prescription medication be sent to my nearby pharmacy. Standard right? Well since my nearest pharmacy is a Safeway I made sure they had the right address, phone number, etc Well surprise surprise when I arrive at the pharmacy my prescription is nowhere to be found. I call up instant urgent care and they apologize and send my information to another pharmacy. Again we speak at length confirming the name and address to make sure it arrives at the correct pharmacy. The next day I drive to the pharmacy and it's still not there. I call up instant urgent care at the pharmacy and they finally send over my prescription details. I came in for a follow up appointment and I had to wait twenty minutes for the doctor to arrive because apparently she wasn't there. Thanks for making me late to work since you couldn't show up to work on time yourself. Update: Here's another awesome feature at this place. All outbound calls are routed through the same number. If you try and call back it sends you to the front desk, which doesn't have a direct line to any of the other staff. Be prepared to play phone tag on steroids if you actually want to speak to the person who called you. read more

I was searching for a new primary care physician and made an appointment. I wasn't aware that this was an urgent care facility. Every experience that I've had with the staff and care at instant urgent care was a challenge to say the least. I had an annual physical done and doctor wanted me to do an in person follow up, so I thought there was something that warranted that. I took the time out to drive there, wait 30 minutes past my appointment time, then doctor comes in and asks if everything is ok, after which he states that's it. Literally less than 10 seconds. Of course they charge me copay and then bill my insurance over $500. Even after this, I made the mistake of going with them for the covid antibody testing, as my insurance covered it and it was with no copay. I even convinced my wife to do it. The person that set up the virtual appointment was almost an hour late. They then proceeded to bill my wife for her appointment. After taking the antibody test, I was told that I should get the results in about a week. One week goes by, no word. Two weeks, no word. Two and a half weeks and I called them to see what's going on and found that my results were in long ago - they just didn't post it to my records or notify me of it, so if I never called, I would've never found out.
