I had an appointment for my mother who is 83 years of age. I had to reschedule for 2 weeks later. I asked if she needed blood work done again since we rescheduled. Olivia at the front desk told me no since the appointment was only 2 weeks away. We get there and she did not have her down for that new date. She said it was for a month away. If that was the case she would had needed new blood work. My problem is that she didn't bother to see if any of the doctors could take my mom that day. She just said "we don't have her down for today". For those of you with elderly parents you know the effort it takes to get them to an appointment. I also took off work. But the main problem was that she only needed someone to go over her blood work and she refused to ask if they could squeeze her in. My mom has to prepare hours beforehand to get dress and get to appointments. She wasn't pleasant and had no empathy whatsoever. If I didn't like the doctors there, I would certainly never go back!!!! Very disappointed.

I recently moved to East Dayton and decided to ditch Kettering Health Network and support something smaller. Boy did I make a mistake. This place will see you only to make you reschedule to do blood work. I've been 3 times now and if they had their way they would have seen me at least 6 times. At $90 a visit (after Cigna pays their part) Even once is too much. Had to a see a doc who wasn't my primary one, today for an emergency. She would not speak to me about anything but the emergency (wanted her to order a blood test) and was just flat out rude. To the point I commented "someone is extra friendly today" Her response was asking me if I wanted to leave...NO i just waited 40+ minutes and that was our first 5 minutes of interaction. The office visit lasted only 10 min and I was prescribed some antibiotics. I would not even crawl in here if I had just broken both legs and happened to be right in front of this building. This urgent care used to be Well Now but is now Quickmed but its the same location and we have been there with similar experience under the well now name and the current name. I'm superstitious that if I crow about good care it will disappear (kind of like a universal I told you so), so to be clear this is only about the care I have received to date, and the experience going forward could change at any time. This is hands down the best urgent care medical services my family and I have experienced in two decades. The providers aren't just attentive and caring, they are competent. Like shockingly competent, which is something I don't really expect to receive in this region, even at the "nicer" areas, much less by an urgent care anywhere. The office side is a little iffy (mostly workflow problems: long waits, communication issues, computer system problems), but the office staff has always been courteous to us and I would far prefer to have people who care, try, and the providers to be medically competent than have shorter wait times and a more efficient workflow. Seriously, don't improve those at the expense of medical care.

The doctor I saw was Dr. Andres Barrero Ortiz MD., he was kind, insightful, and proficient in his abilities. I absolutely recommend him as a family doctor. Everyone seemed knowledgeable and resourceful. I found out they have a chiropractor and a dentist on site! Looks like I will look up both of those doctors and if they seem like the right fit .. we may try them out. We've been with our current dentist & chiropractor for a couple of decades ... worth a shot! Considering they are much closer than both of ours now. Paperwork was minimal and I didn't have to wait at all to get the Appt made - (less than a 3-day wait) and when I checked in today it took less than 10 minutes for them to call me back. The worse thing iEvery time I i need to call to seR my doctor the worst people I encounter are the front two people sitting at the front windows of this drs office. Their names are Julie & Amy are the absolute rudest receptionists I have EVER encountered at any drs office in the entire Miami Valley. Neither of them want to be bothered by any patients whatsoever ... they also do not work there hardest to get you in to see a dr EVER. Does NOT matter how sick any of you or any of your kids are. I do not recommend this place nor any doctors here. The drs are not successful here because of there RUDE staff! ... when or if I am reluctant to call them -one of us MUST BE truly in need DESPERATELY to see the dr or nurse - we R VERY SICK!! Heck with trying to follow up on any other illnesses; or needs. This IS just how awful the staff are there. Including the office manager. She has sent my family letters that most any other drs in this universe would NEVER send to their patients. This is worst situation to be in ever. I truly do not think or believe that these drs are aware that their staff (that mainly answer their phones & see people first once anyone walks in) are terribly horrible people. I am hopeful that anyone with in their Administration at the big Kettering hospital will read this and take heed by helping this (our) community center drs office clean out the bad employees. Kindly. Otherwise if this continues to drag on; I will send a letter to the hospital. I would highly suggest any administrator with Kettering Health look in to this immediately.
