I was traveling from Roseburg back home to Portland (after visiting my newly born first grandchild)…read morewhen I noticed the check engine light on, the temperature gauge all the way into the red and smelling burnt oil. I pulled over to the nearest place to park. I am not knowledgeable about many car issues/troubles. I discovered that the Auto Zone was within walking distance. My plan was to add coolant (after the engine cooled down) and see if that helped with the issue my car was having. The gal behind the counter was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. After I explained my situation she let me know that the problem could be more than just adding coolant and expressed concern if my car would even make it all the way to Portland. We discussed the possibility of me calling AAA and she offered for me to sit in a chair (she got from behind the service counter), with air conditioning, while I sorted out what I was going to do. This was a blessing as I have a serious health condition and going back into the heat to sort it out I feared would not produce a good outcome. I found out the gal that helped me, Zoe, is the store manager. Rightly so! Thanks Zoe! Great customer service, knowledgeable, and compassionate! Zoe you are awesome!!!

Come to find out, after an hour on the phone, Good Sam doesn't cover that area, AAA doesn't cover RV's, and several towing services also don't cover that area or don't service RV's. So we decided to try to drive to the next town 23 miles away and hope we could find a garage in the morning. 10 miles or so down the road was a big truck stop, so we pulled off, and as we drive up to it see Economy Towing. We pulled into their lot, called the # on the sign for after hours help, and within 10 minutes, two people were there to take care of us. Not only were they friendly and efficient, they had the exact replacement tire in stock! They had us taken care of and on our way in less than an hour! Definitely call Economy if you need roadside assistance in this area of Oregon! They are the bomb!!!
