When she tried the door and realized it was closed, she completely broke down full-on tears, heartbroken. Out of nowhere, a kind gentleman came to the door, saw what was happening, and invited us in. Even though they were closed, he offered her some yogurt and instantly turned her entire night around. What could have been a disappointing end to her birthday became one of the most memorable moments, all because of their kindness and willingness to go above and beyond. This is what true hospitality looks like. Thank you for making our little girl's birthday so special we'll never forget it.

I think it's crazy they expect you to tip 20% to the kid that just rings up your total though. That is literally all they do, its self serve so its not like they do anymore than someone ringing you up at the mini mart. They also need more fresh fruit toppings. I love Raspberries, almonds and cheesecake chunks on my ice cream but they never have Raspberries anymore. They had strawberries and blueberries but they were kind of sickly looking. Please put out Raspberries again! Overall they have a nice store with indoor and outdoor seating and they keep everything very clean and they also make great flavors.

We saw a large line and was pretty curious what it was. On the outside it said "bank" but there was no way it was a bank because it was fairly later on a Sunday. We walked up the steps to find this ice cream shop and a couple smaller shops inside. The line moved fairly quickly and they let you try a couple of samples too. I ended up getting a single scoop of the cafe Cubano on a waffle cone. Single scoop with tax = $7.48. As of August 2025 pricing fyi. The scoop was pretty sweet, a tad too sweet. It did have a good coffee flavor where it wasn't too strong but strong enough that you knew it was coffee. It could have been the heat, but before I even stepped out of the storefront my ice cream was already dripping on the side. The waffle cone was also fairly small if I were to compare other waffle cones at other establishments. Overall, good but just a tad pricy for what it was.

Service was great. Workers were super friendly since I wanted to try a few things. I ended up getting the double scoop of creme brûlée. So good! We knew immediately this was going to be a special night. We went all in with the chef's prix fixe menu, and it delivered from the very first bite. Warm, homemade dinner rolls -- fragrant with thyme, garlic, and chili flakes, served alongside pillowy whipped butter -- set the tone perfectly. We loved them so much we asked for a second basket without a moment's hesitation. The Sonoma County Organic Salad that followed was nothing short of a revelation: crisp Little Gem lettuce, Pioneer Micro Herbs and edible flowers, beautifully shaved vegetables, whipped fromage blanc, and a Green Goddess dressing that tied it all together with effortless elegance. Perfection is the only word for it. For our entrées, the Petrale Sole Meunière was a masterclass in refined, soulful cooking -- the Costeaux sourdough croutons, potato fondant, haricot verts, and caper beurre noisette working in perfect harmony. And the pork porchetta with nduja? Cooked flawlessly, bold, deeply satisfying, and utterly memorable. We paired the meal with the Valette Rosé of Pinot Noir, which has instantly earned a place among the finest rosés we've ever tasted -- vibrant, nuanced, and a dream with every course. Dessert brought the ItsNotA 'Snickers Bar' and the Almond Frangipane, both executed brilliantly and the ideal sweet finale to an extraordinary meal. Valette isn't just a great restaurant -- it's our new favorite dining destination, full stop. We'll be back, again and again.

Valette was the meal we were most looking forward to on our 3-day Healdsburg visit, mostly because…read moreof the favorable reviews. It's a great room with good energy and although I was expecting more of a white tablecloth experience, it was casual, which was fine. Unfortunately, my entire entree (sole meunière with green beans and fondant potatoes) was uniformly bland...no trace of salt or seasoning whatsoever. The entire dish was blah. I can't remember the last time I complained about inadequate seasoning, but when it's nowhere to be found, it's hard to ignore. The beans were pretty much raw. I enjoy bright green beans served al dente beans, but raw? No. The fondant potatoes were anemic (zero golden color, zero confit). All three pieces seemed steamed, steamed unevenly, and served cold. One of the three fondants was very firm and barely cooked. I needed to cut it with a knife. The other two were fork tender but alas, cold and flavorless. Honestly, it was kinda weird that all three components of this dish were just so darned boring and lacking temperature. I had only started my meal when I told the server about my impression of the dish. He took my feedback cheerily and said he'd let the chef know for future reference, but no "How can we fix this?" It was a bummer. When eating a classically delicious dish feels like punishment, something's not right. On the bright side, the server had a very nice manner. The room was lovely and had good energy. The menu was priced lower than we expected. And the chilled english pea soup was absolutely delicious. So Valette is capable of getting some things right. I'm not sure whether to chalk it up to "off night" or poor quality control in the kitchen. I guess both, maybe.

This is my parents' favorite pizza spot, so I was excited to finally try it. The last time we tried…read moreto eat here was on a weekend around 6 PM, there was a 2 hour wait, so we ended up going somewhere else. Pizzando is a small and cozy restaurant with limited indoor seating, so this time we came early on a Wednesday around 5:30 PM to try to get seated right away. The hostess initially tried to put our group of 4 outside in 50 degree weather, but she managed to combine 2 tables so we could sit inside, which we really appreciated. You could tell she was stressed even though there was only one person in line ahead of us, but I think it might be because they handle a lot of online/takeout orders and she was constantly running around. They may be a bit understaffed(?), which would explain it. She was working hard, but the quality of service felt a little affected. We ordered the calamari appetizer, focaccia bread, beet salad, and 2 pizzas. I would probably order everything again if I came back. The calamari is not what you might expect, it's not battered and crispy but chewy and served in a delicious sauce with a nice kick from the shishito peppers, as shown in my photo. We ended up dipping the focaccia in the leftover sauce and loved it. The beet salad was light and refreshing, a good contrast to all the carbs coming our way. The pizza was great and I especially loved the margherita. You can really taste the quality in the mozzarella, and the dough was fluffy and chewy. Overall, the food was excellent, but I would give the ambiance a 3/5. Our waitress was fine but a little clumsy, and she asked to clear our plates a few times when we were still clearly eating... There were also tiny little flying bugs that kept hovering around our table. They wer SUPER tiny, even smaller than fruit flies but clustered together, and we had to keep swatting them away from our food. I am not sure if this is a regular thing or if it was just because we were seated near the door and they flew in, but it was a nuisance for sure.

Pizzando - Healdsburg…read more Healdsburg was quiet that afternoon. One restaurant had just closed, another bagel shop locked its doors early while someone scrubbed the counters inside. We were hungry and out of options, so we wandered into Pizzando. It looked decent enough. We sat outside next to the the sidewalk, by the street, half enjoying the Sonoma sun, half fighting off flies and truck noise. The fig and blue cheese pizza sounded like something crafted with intent...pancetta, blue cheese, ricotta, arugula, pear, balsamic. Forty-five minutes later, it showed up missing the pancetta. The server shrugged, wandered off, and returned with a plate of cubed pancetta like it was some kind of peace offering. We topped the pizza ourselves. It wasn't bad...sweet, salty, creamy...but the rhythm was off. The focaccia showed up late, the pacing sloppy, the whole experience just slightly out of tune. They knocked two bucks off the bill, a gesture as thin as the crust. Pizzando isn't terrible. It's just the kind of place that reminds you how fragile a good meal is...how easily it can all go sideways when the kitchen forgets what's supposed to be on the pizza. We won't be back.
