I was assured Dr Petrou could perform this testing and that I should plan for an hour to and hour and a half for our appt. The appt before us ran long, and so we were not seen until 45 min after our scheduled time. Upon giving background Dr. Petrou suggested we were there seeking a "second opinion" to my daughter's standard eye exam she had had earlier this year, rather than acknowledging our concerns as an escalation of care. She then explained that a more extensive examination would take about an hour which was not what was allotted for by the receptionist(s) scheduling but that she would proceed with a standard evaluation. I declined to point out at that moment that it felt like we were being rushed along to make up for her prior long appt. As it became clear through the exam that this was another standard Vision exam and not a Neuro-ophthalmologic evaluation I voiced my concern and was reassured in a somewhat condescending manner that this was a Neuro-visual evaluation. The gist was that my daughter should change lifestyle (sleep, hydration, diet) and hold her phone further away from her face (ignoring our indications that symptoms presented year-round when school-schedule was in place). She also made a snide comment about "Dr Google and AI diagnoses. The receptionists and Dr. should be aware of their areas of expertise and not take in business that is beyond the scope of their practice. We left very frustrated with our experience and have now booked an appt with a Dr. with the correct credentials, title, and testing capabilities. As for any future standard care, you can cross this office off our list of candidates. It seems, based on their ratings, that they do basic optometry very well, but they should know what is not in their wheelhouse too.

She is the most talented optometrist I have ever consulted with. She can give you advice on your general well being, just by examining your eyes. No one has ever done that with me, until her! She has given me better advice than any ophthalmologist I have consulted in the past! All of my family members and I have been patients of Dr. Nina Christensen for many years. We live closer to the Grafton Costco but when she moved to Pewaukee, we moved our files with her practice. She is as caring as she is talented and certainly, is worth the extra long drive to Pewaukee. Here is one example: I had dry eye problem - especially in winter months. I went to see two Ophthalmologists. One of them was considered to be a leading Ophthalmologist in town. Both of them told me to use artificial tears, daily. They both told me, I got it because I look at the computer too much, with insufficient blinking.. and I am thinking - "Duh! Blinking is subconscious! What am I to do.. remind my eyes to blink more often?". They were explaining the problem and not the solution! When I went to see Dr. Christensen for an eye exam, I mentioned my dry eyes problem to her casually, as a part of patient history. Immediately, she said - just drink a lot of water and you won't need the eye drops.. She was absolutely right.. I no longer need eye drops! Dr. Christen is so very talented that she is the only doctor who explained to me that she can notice indications of high blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes, while examining the eye! She explained that people with high blood pressure will have pronounced capillary veins. She is the most talented Ophthalmologist that I have ever met! Once you meet her, immediately, you will see that she is genuinely interested in your well being. She charges only $60 for eye glass exam.. In the past I had paid $200 for a ophthalmologist for an eye exam and he was no where as good as Dr. Chritensen! If you are older than 50, I would encourage you to go with a designated driver and plan for 2 hours of time, so that she can dilate your eyes (1 hour for dilation) and give you a thorough exam! It would be well worth the effort.

They partner with insurance companies to collect data. They receive compensation for this. They really work for them. Not you. You will feel this from the second you walk through their doors until long after you leave. The icky feeling just sticks with you. You will not feel quite right. You may find benefit from Physical therapy, the therapists treatment and massage tips, and you may need/benefit from a splint, but those WILL BE COSTLY, both literally and figuratively... and it really is the figuratively you should understand most. This place shares inaccurate records far and wide. Inaccurate records. Records that WILL follow you and may haunt or hurt you later. Other dentists and doctors and insurance companies WILL get a plethora of information and a litany of "conditions" they see fit to create. Just remember, they do not work for you. The hygienist was extremely condescending and unfortunately this turned my nose up to this office. The doctor would not discuss pricing with me, even though I requested this two weeks prior (so I could budget for my wisdom tooth extraction), he told me to go online and look it up myself and they would just bill me. I thought this was laughable considering others HAVE to want to know pricing before just mindlessly scheduling. This was a top recommendation for me on my insurance website and I will be reviewing this office on their website to let others know not to have their hopes too high. Waste of time! I am impressed he's installing a clean air leaf filtration system that cleans the air every 8 minutes, really seems Dr. G is taking huge steps to make sure that the office is staying safe as possible. Have worked in Dental before has made me very picky about my teeth and unfortunately I had a bad fall where I had lost two and have two that need root canals, he has never made me feel bad about myself and is helping me get a realistic treatment plan together. His staff is highly qualified, most are in school themselves for Dental.
