He spent hours working on it and the car is seriously spotless. I have a dog who sheds like crazy, so he definitely had his work cut out for him, but you'd never know there had been a dog in the car when he finished. The price was extremely fair, especially considering the amount of time and effort he put in. Super hardworking, professional, and accommodating. I have been going to Jim's Amoco for about six or seven years. My first visit, my car at the time,…read morehad an engine problem. I took it to my old mechanic, and they said it needed a whole new engine. I went to Jim, because he is close to my office, and they diagnosed instead of a bad head gasket, an intake manifold gasket. I wouldn't have known the difference, but they told me the truth, saving me thousands of dollars. Since then, they have been my guys. They have always squeezed in my last minute emergencies. Because Jim knows I am often on a tight budget, he always tells me what I must do right away, and what I can put off and the cost and extent of what does or does not need to be done. I have even called Jim for advice when my car broke down up north and needed an engine repair up there. He didn't get a dime out of it, but he talked me down, when I was frantic, and gave me great information, that allowed me to determine that the remote mechanic I was forced to use, was honest and had given me a fair estimate. He helped me deal with my insurance company for an unexpected mechanical problem claim that came up after my body claim was completely settled, for a deer hit I had last year. When they fix my car, if it's not raining, they even run it through the car wash! Everyone is sweet, kind, NOT SEXIST OR CONDESCENDING at all. They are truly concerned about my happiness and safety! I have recommened Jim's to many friends and family members, who have all been happy, as have my co-workers! I have owned cars since 1976, and Jim's is the best mechanic I have ever had! Last but not least, fair and competitive pricing on all work! Toni Z., Madison WI

I also had them do radiator cleaning, checking fluid levels, anti-freeze, etc. The LED bulb changes to see at night are spectacular. I called around, and most places charged $500 or more, but Madison Auto Trim was around $300 at the time. I got the complete package, with mud flaps. It required the car be left overnight. That car never had any issues with rust. After having owned several cars that DID have issues with rust, I decided my next used car would get the rust proofing package again. I called Madison Auto Trim. The bad news was that now, over a decade later, the same package now costs $600. The good news is it no longer requires being left overnight. I called around again, most of the other places had kept their prices the same ($500-700) but no one else had any openings, so I stuck with where I knew. My appointment was at 3pm and they told me it could take as long as 2 hours. Surprisingly, I was done by 3.40pm. I wont know any time soon if it works as well as last time, but the service was excellent. I deducted one star because they went from being the most affordable option to somewhere in the middle.
