I thought I left a review oops one of my favorite sushi restaurants ever locally owned and within walking distance of my hotel The food is amazing here!!! Great service and ambience

In this restaurant you will need to order first then sit at a table. They will bring your food to you. The place was pretty empty when I came, I was the only customer here at one point. The inside of the store is pretty nice. The food was alright, I got: Tuna Tataki: 2 out of 5 as it was very garlicky. Usually tuna tataki would also have sesame oil drizzles to add to the flavor but I didn't get that here. I also found a small gnat trapped in the green onions and garlic. Volcano roll: 3 out of 5 I wish the roll had cream cheese, would definitely help out the roll. If it was torched a bit more also. The nigiri tuna, shrimp and salmon had a generous pieces of fish but the rice were so small, and compact. Over all, it wasn't a bad place but I don't think I would be back.

Very nice casual sushi spot! Good quality fish and yummy rolls. The service was very friendly and efficient. The Bonito roll is probably my favorite here, a nice and interesting Smokey flavor. Would always recommend if you're in the area and need a quick sushi fix for any budget.

Great place with reasonable sushi. We got the fancy rolls, soft shell crab, & shumai shrimp dumpling. Everything came out delicious.

this restaurant is a kind of restaurant where you come in, order at the counter and they bring it out to you once it is ready. The have your basic coke products as well as some alcohol options as well. The sushi was delicious and fresh!! The restaurant staff were very friendly and attentive. We went for lunch and the sushi arrived not long after ordered. Quick and efficient, will definitely be back!

I finally found my favorite sushi spot in Orlando. We live in Virginia Beach but we are always down here. I've been on the search for good quality, tasty sushi here in Orlando and I finally found it. The mom and pop places are ALWAYS the best places to eat. They were short staff but you wouldn't have known if they didn't have signs posted. Even though they were busy, they still offered great customer services and good quality food. You order at the counter and they'll bring your food to the table for you. The price is fair for the quality of food. The menu is niche to sushi, poke, and just what you would get at authentic sushi restaurants. My food was delicious. It didn't smell and it tasted like fresh fish. The wasabi was definitely kicking. Some places use fake wasabi (is what I'm told). I recommend the spicy salmon poke. My son says the eel roll is really good. My husband loved the tataki. The place isn't fancy so don't expect anything but good food from a small business. We will be back to try more rolls and dishes.

The quality of the food was great. We got a poke bowl, tempura shrimp, gyoza, white rice and krab sticks. The prices online do not match in store, it's slightly more maybe by 1-2$. The lady at the counter was rude. I asked for a receipt and she said i didn't need one. It's clean in the lobby but behind the counter looks like every other Chinese restaurant, a bit unorganized. Took about 15 mins to get our food. It's definitely fresh and I would return but overall experience did not meet expectations.

Walked in on a Friday around 7, service was quick, and enough open seating! I had the gyoza and California crunch roll. The California crunch roll was really good, crunchy, and fresh with a little bit of spice!! Roll brought 8 pieces, gyoza brought 6 pieces. Overall, food is priced very well in my perspective. They have a wide variety of food to pick from. Staff was friendly and the place was clean. Will definitely come back here to try other rolls and dishes!

A hidden gem... The prices were great, and the food was delicious. I was if-y about going to a place that seemed really Americanized by its name, but I am totally glad that our other options were a no go due to it being a Friday night. :) The gyu don was yummy and filling! The accompanying sauce made it taste even better. The caramelized onions and red radish were great additions. I was totally glad to have a redo with this don here. It was just so flavorful and delicious! The comet sushi combo was great. It was 28 pieces of goodness that filled our bellies. There were two pieces of the following variety so it was perfect for sharing: nigiri, tuna, tilapia, salmon, shrimp, eel, and crab stick. There were also the California and salmon cream cheese rolls. The wait was a little long as they were understaffed, but it was well worth the food delay. I would definitely come back in a heartbeat!

Stopped here since we wanted some sushi and this was the closest spot. The menu is on your right as soon as you walk in, you order and once you're seated they will bring your food out to you. We ordered soft shell card, Eel California, Shrimp Shumai and banana tempura. Everything was okay and I mean everything. The food was OK, the service was OK, the place was OK. I wouldn't come back again though,

Dim lights and couches making it feel casual but yet upscale at the same time. The host and the wait staff was super attentive and great to have, no issues or problems with them. They were very kind and accommodating and super helpful in terms of trying to figure out all allergies and what my child could or cannot eat, but also make adjustments so that she has options. Now for the food! We had gotten the beef skewer and chicken skewers as appetizers and let me tell you they were probably the best meat skewers that I've had in a Izakaya style Japanese restaurant. The steak was so tender and had great flavor, same with the chicken! The sauce was good, maybe a bit too heavy on the sauce but good pairing! 5/5 The tuna flight was . So good and the cuts of tuna was so tender and was amazing, good garnishes on top! 5/5 The rolls, we got a couple Yellow Fever: it was good, I'm not sure if I was a fan of the asparagus but it was good to have every now and then every other bite or so but not every time. It did have a slight kick to it but I liked it. Distinguished Gentleman: was great. The meat was tender and it had good flavor and my kids enjoyed it as a more kid friendly sushi, but I also enjoyed one bite that I was able to sneak before the kids devoured it. Shrimp Tempura roll (specially made for allergies): Standard goodness! I also almost forgot, I had gotten King Salmon nigiri and also eel nigiri, salmon was good! Normal salmon vibes 4/5 but the eel...probably the most disappointing menu item tbh. Tasted like the frozen Asian grocery store eel, just underwhelming and not a little tough. 2/5 wouldn't order again. but Overall, it was everything was great, we had good service and good food! It's a bit expensive but I Would come back!

Service is quick and the food is fantastic. I use miso soup as a test for how good a place is and theirs was exactly how I like it, small cubes of fresh tofu, reasonably sized wakame, and not too much of any one ingredient. The miso was a milder white but nicely salty and flavorful. You could tell they didn't just phone it in and open an instant packet. I had their curry rice with a pork katsu and it was one of the best I've had in the area. The curry tasted homemade and leaned a bit towards the sweeter side but with a tiny hint of spice. It came with pickles which were just the thing to cut the richness. I also got their spicy garlic edamame which is my second favorite (Sushi Katana by the Milennia Mall has the best IMO). The onigiri was nothing special but great rice consistency and filled with bonito flakes and soy or umeboshi. There are a lot of dishes you don't find on most menus here like salted grilled mackerel fillet and croquettes. Funny enough there's very little sushi for a place with sushi in the name but I was ok with that because their kitchen food is what to come for. I also love that it has the vibe of a small Japanese restaurant with the option to sit at the counter and give you that "salaryman on a quick lunch" vibe.

Sushi Tomi is one of the original secret Asian American staples of Orlando that opened in 2013 back when Orlando was known as Mickey Mouse's backyard. It's decently priced, albeit far, and provides a nice sense of comfort. We went on a week night and they were still super busy. Located closer to East Colonial area, it's at 8463 S John Young Pkwy, Orlando, FL 32819. Their claim to fame are their bento boxes and different lunch and dinner sets, which is to say you will leave full with a balanced meal. I won't lie, I have been wanting to go for the longest time. I felt like some kid pressing his face up against a window, just watching everyone go and enjoy their meal. So this was really great for me, personally. I got their dinner tempura and sushi set. The set came with miso soup and salad as well as a variety of meats and veggies that had been tempura coated and fried with a side of rice. I also ordered a sparkling jelly sake drink, a tamago nigiri and eel nigiri. My overall portion costed about $45 without tip. The set gets a 8.5/10 rating from me. I kinda wish I just went with the tempura set instead of trying to have the best of both worlds. Not that the sushi was bad or anything, but the tempura was really the star of the show. It was so fresh and crispy and light and amazing with the sauce they served it with. The sushi was fine and well made, I just had heart eyes for the tempura. The tamale nigiri and the eel nigiri was good, but not the best I have ever had. They had other things on their menu, but I really recommend going here for Japanese basic meals or comfort meals. I think it's not dazzling, but provides you with a sense of comfort. Not to mention the service was amazing, and it truly was authentic and not gentrified. My overall rating is 9/10 for the whole experience. I will be back whenever I am in the area.

I did a quick Google search as well as a Yelp search and this place came up and the reviews were fairly well first of all I love Hibachi so I'm gamed to try every Hibachi place in the world nevertheless I did call to make reservations but I believe during this certain time of the year which was I think it was a Labor Day weekend or the weekend before Labor Day... Nevertheless reservations weren't needed but I did make them just in case. We arrived via Uber which was a quick 10 minute ride from our stay from the Sheraton Vistana. We walked in was greeted immediately and overall everything was a 10 out of 10. I don't think I have any complaints if you love Hibachi and love the family style sit around type thing around the Hibachi Grill definitely check this place out very chic very picturesque. First off I must address the elephant in the room their manager Tony who likes to stand in the archway between the dinning rooms and send text messages like it's going out of style, then after he was done with one of his texting sessions I watched him use not a very nice and kinda demeaning tone to one of the employees to go tell them to do something and let me say I noticed this across the table through a cooking chef so it would seem that he isn't very nice and if that weren't enough at the end of our meal our wonderful server Sammie was talking to us and she totally made our visit and was very friendly mid conversation with her Tony comes up and then she stopped in sentence and like walked away as Tony came up I said that she made our visit and he could clearly careless as he then put this QR code in front of me and told me to do a google review I replied I don't do that I use Yelp and that instantly made him get real short with me and walk away, so needless to say that guy has some serious issues as a manager and I feel bad for his staff because it definitely seems like he's one of those managers you don't wanna have. While I might be totally wrong about this as I don't work here and I've only been here once that's just what I noticed what I saw and the energy that I felt. So our food was good but I must say it was just typical hibachi and let's start with the onion soup it was ok kinda bland and needed more mushroom, the salad was good but they didn't give us very much as the server walked away with a very full bowl from a large table, my fried rice and veggies were good but mostly tasted like garlic butter, my steak and shrimp were cooked perfectly and flavorful definitely the better part of the mean but I found it strange that my steak came with a few pieces of potato's I've never seen this before at hibachi and they I had to ask them for ginger sauce for my shrimp as I guess they don't give it out. My hot sake and Kirin were both yummy and I just say the hot sake bottle was on the smaller side but it wasn't over priced so that part definitely added to the night! Our chef was good he didn't do anything out of the normal stuff just the regular the heart beat the egg trick and the volcano but it's all good a basic ambiance is fun sometimes too! Overall food was decent but definitely something that didn't leave an impression on me as other hibachi restaurants have, that mixed with what we noticed go on I wouldn't come back especially with soo much competition in the area I'd rather go there!

I ordered two sushi rolls from the same menu and the plating was beautiful. Two large rolls with a bonsai tree and small vase with smoke pouring out of it. The experience felt like a Michelin star restaurant in Japan. I was shocked at the large pile of ginger they provided, and was even more surprised at how good it tasted. This is another hole in the wall restaurant, which means it's gonna be really good or really bad, with no in between. The price was fantastic for lunch! Less than $15 for two decent rolls and miso soup. The soup was decent, but had an odd fishy taste that I don't usually get from miso soup, it wasn't the seaweed it was an off taste. The sushi rolls were pretty decent, but I couldn't eat the whole Alaska roll that I got since the salmon didn't taste right it tasted fishy too. Later that day I had stomach issues, so I don't believe the sushi was the best quality. Not my pic for a recurring sushi restaurant, but if you're looking for cheap sushi, here it is.
