Took my dad here for his birthday - absolutely delicious. Our chef was so interactive and the food was perfect!

If I could give more than 5 stars I would! Hands down the BEST Omakase Sushi I've had! The restaurant looks like your typical sushi restaurant with some table seating and a bar. We opted for the 15 course meal! It's pricey but it's 100% worth it! The sushi is prepared in front of you! The fish is delicious and fresh as well. The Chef and the rest of the staff provided exceptional service!

Look: In NYC, omakases are more ubiquitous than Starbucks. You either pay under $90 for lackluster quality or $400+ for Michelin-star quality that makes your wallet bleed. The latter option is idiotic to me, since I'd rather spend that money on an actual trip to Japan to have real sushi. And only fools pay the middle range, which is the worst of both options. So when the cold weather derailed my original dinner plans, I begrudgingly agreed to go to Sushiichi because it was close by and because the 12-course omakase was $90 on the dot. The food was fine but forgettable. I honestly couldn't remember a single standout item two weeks later. That doesn't mean others might not enjoy it--it just wasn't memorable to me. Below is a list of what we got, for what it's worth. ........................................... 12-course omakase menu: - Appetizer: Hokkaido sea scallop with uni, paragon truffle, and uni miso - Appetizer: Smoked king fish - Nigiri: Kampachi amberjack with pickled jalapeno - Nigiri: Sea bream, plum paste, shiso flower - Nigiri: Striped jack with pico de gallo - Nigiri: Seared yellowtail with shishito pepper - Nigiri: Seared lobster, shiso leaf tempura, Mira - Nigiri: Seared trout with tomato confit - Nigiri: Toro with French truffle - Donburi: Toro donburi with uni, forbidden rice, soy sauce marinated salmon egg - Dessert: Yuzu panna cotta with raspberry glaze and raspberry bits from nitrogen

Very friendly service and good sushi! I enjoyed that there were several courses with uni, which is my favorite. The best piece was the lobster that had some crunchy deep fried leaf below it. We were celebrating a birthday so they were kind enough to give us two glasses of champagne on the house. The only cons were that I generally don't love all the truffle and fancy toppings on top of fish in omakase restaurants. I prefer more traditional pieces that just honor the fish, but that was my own fault for not looking at photos ahead of time. There was also a very long wait between each piece we got, I think in part bc the chefs were talking a lot with the couples further down the counter. But not a huge deal. Definitely a great add to the area and reasonably priced!

Sushiichi is a new omakase on the block that threads the fine line of original omakase sushi and sashimi flavours while have a layer of the chef's expression on the board. There are some interesting flavours prepared but it is hard to say if they beat some of the originals. A great spot to try if you're in the area, if you liked Mari, you'd like this too (even though the backgrounds are different). Taste: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Ambience: 4/5 Value for Money: 4/5 Pro tip: There are two menus a 12 course and a 15 course. The 15 course is quite literally the 12 course plus the 3 additional ones below it. 1. Sea scallop, Uni and truffle - great start 2. 5 days fluke wasabi powder - good crunch 3. Amberjack crispy shallots and jalapeño - interesting 4. Sea bream madai shisho flower - nice bite 5. Blue fin tuna soy glazed garlic - classic 6. Shimaaji (striped jack) with pico de gallo - overpowering from the pico de gallo not a fan 7. Tamachi shishito pepper - okay 8. Seared lobster shisho leaf tempura and ikura - was the best thus far! 9. Hokkaido Uni and rice - classic 10. Akashi toro - with truffle 11. Donburi - forbidden rice and Uni and toro - forbidden rice was crunchy rest was good 12. Raspberry yuzu panna cotta - great way to end The premium set (15 course 3 add-on) 1. Kamasu , ginger and chive 2. Tasmanian ocean trout 3. Ororo with caviar All in all, good spot despite all the competition in the area!

It had been far too long since going to an omakase and this was a great one to get back in the swing of things! Just before their one year anniversary my husband and I dined here for a date night. We splurged for the 15 course omakase and I wish I would have remembered more of what all the courses were because each and every one was delicious. The chef was right in front of us and did an excellent job of explaining each and every course. The code and service was top tier and never made us feel like we were waiting on anything. There were some unique flavors here I wasn't expecting - some salsas for example - that were surprising and delicious. Highly recommend!

My family and I came over this evening after a cruise tour at the pier. First time at this restaurant for us for omakase. The food was amazing, and service is superb. The price is actually quite reasonable for the quality of food. We will definitely come back next time when we visit again.

Nice addition to the neighborhood. It's a 12 or 15 course omakase menu. Tough choice on which one to order and I think it'll depend on what's on the menu for the day (ask the chef!). They seem to have a good source for their sushi as we had many interesting niguri such as the tasmanian salmon, Norwegian scampi , Canadian lobster and a really nice super premium Hokkaido uni. The dishes all had a nice clean flavor style where you weren't overpowered by too many ingredients but still could pick out unique tastes like the baked garlic and olive leaves on the pike. Simple space and friendly staff and worth a visit!

THIS WAS ONE OF THE MOST STELLAR omakases I've ever enjoyed!!! Chef Frankie's flavors are simply fire. And the upgrade for the 15 piece omakase is totally worth it in terms of the quality & flavors!! I'm still drooling thinking about the little touches that all together added up to a truly memorable experience -- like the in house pickled young ginger that explodes with flavor, the knock your socks off scallop with truffle sauce, the most thoughtfully layered donburi I've ever had! I wish I could eat here every month! And oh - the space itself is beautiful. Minimalist, but warm with beautiful touches. If you care about big flavor and beautiful textures in your food, you must get a seat at Chef Frankie's bar!!!

Wow, a minimalistic interior beautifully done. Frankie, the chef was fantastic. I had the 15 piece Omakase. Every course was delicious the most tender Toro I've ever had in my life. He's much more creative than most Omakasa chefs in New York. I love the fact that it's off the beaten path a little bit, so you should never have a problem getting a seat here, I will definitely be back

Another new Omakase spot in midtown west that gets a very strong 4 for a relatively unique and memorable menu of premium fish and seafood. The counter here is relatively spacious and can seat up to 14. Unfortunately, the counter top is too high to comfortably watch chef prepare the dishes and nigiri which is a real oversight. Oddly enough we were the only two customers at the 7PM seating which made me nervous. In retrospect I think the price point here probably explains this as the $60-$99 range Omakase options in this area are so popular nowadays. Thankfully, I was very happy with the meal. The premium menu for $130 begins with three appetizers followed by 10 nigiri and then a donburi bowl. It differs from the $90 menu in that there are 3 additional nigiri and the chu toro is upgraded to o toro. There is generous use of less traditional garnish that make the pieces more memorable but some are more successful than others. For example, the Akami was topped with cured garlic which was overpowering in my opinion. On the other hand, the amberjack with pico de gallo was a surprise hit. I also appreciated the variation in texture along the way. The seared lobster with tempura shiso and ikura came at just the right time in the progression to contrast with all the excellent fatty fish. The donburi bowl was a tour de force of texture with creamy uni and the most bursting ikura I have had. The opening dish was another highlight - a sort of ceviche of scallop with uni and truffle which was resoundingly awesome. The charred salmon belly with confit tomato as well as the AAA uni were also killer. Overall I was very happy with the food here and think this place is worth a try, especially if you want something new! The $130 plus price point is an extremely competitive range for Omakase. The biggest shame was not being able to see over the counter.

Oh my! Yes! Thank you for opening in my neighborhood! This new omakase place is an absolute gem. The freshness of the ingredients is unparalleled, resulting in an extraordinary dining experience. I had 15 course dinner premium omakase which includes chef's selection of 3 appetizers, 10 pieces of nigiri, donburi and dessert for $130. Every dish is meticulously prepared and showcases the chef's exceptional skills. From the moment you step inside, you are greeted with warm hospitality and a serene ambiance. The attention to detail is evident in every aspect of the meal, from the presentation to the flavors. This omakase experience is truly a culinary delight that leaves you craving for more. Wow!!! I'm so lucky to have you in my area! Will visit again

The Katsu is the star and I think what sets this place apart is that they offer Berkshire pork katsu as an option. Arguably some of the best pork, it's great to have the option if you're looking to heighten the experience. I love their pork katsu and go nuts over the chicken katsu curry. It's super crispy, slightly greasy but never off-putting. And it's served with the most delicate and delicious cabbage slaw. I could eat a mountain of this it's so good. Highly recommended.

Katsu-Hama is about two doors to the Left of Phil's, and has minimal, very discreet signage. I got some tonkatsu...I forget the exact type, but it was essentially the most fatty of the tonkatsu offered. It came with cabbage (with a sesame ginger type dressing), daikon radish (with some type of sauce on top), and the standard sauce for the tonkatsu, along with some crushed sesame seed and hot mustard. I'd have to say...the tonkatsu was quite good....not quite as sublime as my favorite tonkatsu place in Tokyo...but still, very, very good. The dish also came with a bowl of miso soup (good, and not overly salty) and a bowl of white rice, which I considered the most disappointing part of the meal. The rice seemed a bit dried out...not moist.... All in all, an excellent meal. I'd definitely come back.

Udon had a nice bouncy chew and sauce was not heavy We also got a bottle of sake, and they poured it in a beautiful sake decanter to keep it cold. First time seeing cold sake presented this way which was very cool. We tried Suntory draft beer since that was the only draft they had, which was odd since most Japanese places carry Asahi/Sapporo, definitely not as light as the other two beers I'm used to. Even though I was stuffed by the end, I didn't feel lethargic, everything felt light without compromising flavor. I would budget to spend around $100 a person here after tip and tax, if you ignore the prices on the menu and try a variety of things. The tuna from the bone is the most famous dish here, but I was not able to get it as they sell out very fast. But I tried the sashimi and it was high quality -- just that it was not enough food for me. But that makes it more in line with portions back in Japan. Expect to pay a premium for small-ish portions, but at the same time very well-made and authentic food.
