We loved our experience at Sushi Village. We had never heard of it but it was recommended to us by a friend. Quaint little restaurant with a fun atmosphere. The food came quick and service was great. The sushi boats are a great deal! We had so much food, we had to take a bunch home. They also have a pretty expansive menu, so even if you are not a sushi fan there is something for you! I will say, the actual sushi itself may not be my favorite compared to some other places but it may have just been the rolls we selected. An absolute gem of a find that has a large amount of menu items and affordable! We typically order out so I can't speak too much about the inside, but it looks nice and clean and just an overall fun place. For carryout, every employee I interact with is always courteous and helpful. The food is always fresh and so good. Personal favorite is that the General Tsao chicken has a slight torched touch to it that sets it apart from anything else. Cute decor, open late, middle of the road sushi. My boyfriend and I were craving sushi past 8pm and this was one of the only places open. We decided to give it a try. The menu was pretty robust, but I had a hard time figuring out what I wanted to eat. I asked the waiter if he had any suggestions for fresh sushi (not deep fried) and still had raw fish on it. He said he had never been asked that question, but proceeded to recommend the Monster roll (which I was leaning towards already). We got the monster roll, the Philadelphia roll, and unagi roll. Our sushi came with salad and soup. Salad was subpar. Definitely a 1/5 for me. The soup was actually pretty good! I'm not a huge soup or salad fan, though. Soup 4/5, because the flavor was good and the little tofu bits were delicious. Sushi was decent, I'd say 3/5. The monster roll was my favorite. The unagi roll was my boyfriends favorite. I did have them swap soy paper with seaweed wrap, which they did. Honestly, not bad for a quick sushi spot. I'll definitely keep it in mind when it's late and I am craving sushi again. Went to this venue on our daughter's birthday, and was surprised at the amazingly beautiful decor, which recreated an authentic Japanese ambiance, complete with lifelike and life sized cherry Blossom trees. I got the Beef Bulkogi, which was quite delicious, and my husband got the spicy version of Pork Bulkogi, and even though he likes spicy stuff, he found this a little too hot for his liking. It ended up being our most expensive birthday dinner to date, costing (with tip for good service) over $200 for the 8 of us. We consider this a once-in-a-lifetime experience, as it was a little too costly for us to return. But if you have that kind of money, it is well worth it! read more

Ordered through doordash. 2 stars because the quality of the salmon is pretty good but their are still scales on the tuna and it's really chewy. Another sad point, their sushi rice is seriously lacking. What makes great sushi is the fish, yes, but really it's the sushi rice. And this sushi rice is almost ruining the whole roll. I'll not say that this is the standard, as this is the first time I've eaten here but I'm hoping it's not. read more

We went to Sushi Village for my husband's birthday. He loves sushi and the menu looked yummy. They gave us a sample of the Walmart roll, which was good. We ordered 2 Philadelphia rolls, 1 Alaska roll, 1 avocado roll, and 1 horned tail roll. We also orders the creamy shrimp appetizer, and chicken fried rice to go. The appetizer and horned tail rolls were amazing, the other rolls were average, could have been purchased at a grocery store. I had the fried rice later, it was okay, the pieces of chicken were a bit big and dry. However the price was good, the service was exceptional, we will certainly go back to try more of the special rolls. read more

They have a diverse menu with ramen, cooked dishes, appetizers, sashimi & nigiri, and a wide variety of rolls. Rolls that come on fire, spicy rolls, rolls with masago, deep fried rolls, and a big selection of rolls with actual sushi, and rolls for the newbie as well. Rolls are $12 - $16 but they're also huge! They also have authentic Asian menu items like octopus. This is my second time coming and the quality is just as good as the first time. My hubby is already planning on a lunch date with his Mom here. Decor and ambiance could use some help, it's very casual, but the staff is friendly and they seem to stay fairly busy. This place is dope! I like the cherry blossom trees when you walk in, the owners saying hi, and getting seated right away. We have ordered the Nordic roll, the Mexican roll, the derby roll, mocking roll and the Walmart roll. (The Walmart roll said "assorted fish", which I was like ah... no, but assorted means the good fish that isn't sushi cut). They're all great! The Miso soup is so good! We were looking for somewhere to go for our anniversary, which happens to be on Memorial Day this year. We went down the list of 'fancy' anniversary places, all closed, and when we got back to sushi, our usual place was also closed. I remembered I'd been to Sushi Village for lunch with a client a couple of years ago, and was quite impressed! Fast forward to today, and they made it a more memorable sushi experience than I could have expected. They had super sweet wait staff and Mama Mia was hilarious and super friendly. Also: they have KOREAN FOOD! I know that's not huge elsewhere, but in Springfield MO, we're hurting for Korean places. Came for the sushi, will be back for the Bibimbap and the banchan. read more

I finally ate here for lunch (I work two doors down at Family Back & Neck Care Centre) and I will definitly be going back to Sushi Village more often. They give you a piece of a sushi while you wait and look at the menu (thank you! so delicious!) The waiter was very patient and helpful knowing I had not been in before. So I don't even know where to begin..... We had the WORST experience eating out tonight. Which is sad because this is only the 2nd time we've ate out in months!!! So we went to Sushi Village on Republic Rd. Yummmm sushi right!? Well... not so much! We ordered 5 rolls and Landyn ordered beef bulgogi. About 7 min later or so his food comes out. (Which was supposed to come with soup an salad- neither of which he got) I understand that sushi can take a lil extra time to prepare but 25-30 min later our Sushi FINALLY comes out (they were not busy!) There's no wasabi, ginger or soy sauce dishes. So we ask for those and refills on our waters (that were obviously empty) Matt eats a piece of his... then another piece and immediately says "There is something NOT OK with this!" He starts dissecting another piece and spits it out. So I taste it and I had to spilt it out!!!! Could not even attempt to swallow it! We narrowed it down to the cucumbers. They were extremely bitter and coated your mouth with awful tasting bitterness! So we get our (non attentive) server over and tell him what's wrong. He takes it away. Now grant you, we are NOT ones to complain!!! Hell, we eat anything and everything! So he comes back a couple min later with the same dish- same plate, and asks if there's anything "visually" wrong. Ummm no, but we were like "taste it!!! It's SO BITTER! Definitely not edible!' He said "well idk what to tell you. We don't see anything wrong with it." (excuse me)) and went to walk off while leaving the plate with the food we had spit out on it! excuse me sir. GET THAT PLATE OFF THE TABLE. THANKS! Matt says "we'll pay for it but there's no way we're eating it! Just take it away" I said "actually we're not going to pay for it!" which I have NEVER said before! EVER! as he's mumbling under his breath, he takes it away....again. We get our bill, they did NOT take it off. Nor did we get "I'm sorry about that." Or "is everything else ok?" or "we can try to make it again" NOTHING! So Matt takes the bill up to the front and the kid tells him we ate 1/2 of it so we need to pay for it! Absolutely mind boggling!!! He explained that 2 pieces were thrown back up on the plate and 4 other pieces were not even touched!! So he reluctantly takes it off.... but seriously!?!? Having both worked in restaurants for years, this blew our minds! We noticed other tables having just as many issues too. They need to get their shit together ASAP!!!! Oh and by the way, Matt left a $20 tip to show it wasn't about the $$$, not that our waiter even deserved 1/2 of that! Waiter was overbearing and wouldn't give us any peace to enjoy the meal (which wouldn't have happened even if given the opportunity).
