I was so excited to find out we had a conveyer belt sushi in Nashville and this one didn't disappoint! The prices are pretty great at $14 all you can eat for lunch (ends at 3 I believe?) my only complaint is that the red plates cost an entire $5 more per each red plate, I don't mind paying extra for 1-2 nice desserts, but the basic crab stick sushi was also a red plate and $5 for two sticks of artificial crab meat and a little ball of rice is insane. Staff was friendly, the belt was well stocked, all of the sushi was fresh and tasty. I'll definitely be back!

I love the concept! Truly the best way to do All You Can Eat style sushi out there, I wish it was more present in other areas of the country (especially in my hometown), but I really enjoyed having this experience while I was visiting Nashville. For the uninitiated, conveyor belt style eating is done by pulling small plates off a conveyor belt that is continuously moving throughout the dining room. Patrons usually sit around a circular or oval shaped bar, but sometimes you see the conveyor belt meandering all over the place. They can be covered or uncovered, I really appreciated that the conveyor belt at Sushi Train was covered! Much more sanitary. In non-AYCE situations, your plate color corresponds to a price, the staff simply total up your plates. At sushi train, it appears there is an option to go a la carte, but at 25 bucks, I don't understand why you wouldn't go for the all you can eat option unless you just want a snack. Also, the conveyor belt is massive, centrally located to the restaurant and diving in and out or rows of seats. It's a large place, great layout, and the staff works hard to keep it stocked. As much as I loved the format, I will say that most of the sushi I ate was just OK and there were a couple that I didn't like. I did like that not just rolled sushi was circulating, but also nigiri, appetizers, cold salads, and desserts. Your waitress would also take special requests from you for anything you saw on the menu but not on the belt, included in the price! All in all, even if the sushi itself was pretty average, this place gets a 5 from me for their superior style of service, and a format that allows me to try small portions of a great variety of foods, as opposed to committing to large rolls limiting what I can try. I would definitely come back and bring friends!

Food: the sushi looks awful it looks no fresh we sat at the end of the "train" we didn't see any good sushi by the time it got to you all was there was a sign. They trick you by saying 13.99 then server tells you "red plate" 5 dollars more‍ so that should make it 18.99 for lunch. Anyways the train looks like it would collect germs from everyone breathing on it. I hate to bash this place but I was disappointed bad. I got the hibachi and it was ok. Don't waste your money or time driving to this place. One star because the sushi didn't look safe or edible it seems dirty and not clean my first bad review of a restaurant .

I'll have to admit that the reviews made me nervous, but my friend loves Sushi Train so I decided to give it a go on my last trip. I was pleasantly surprised! We went around 8 and were seated right away, though there were a fair amount of people in the restaurant. The lobby and the table/chairs were clean and well kept as well. The sushi on the conveyer is definitely above grocery store quality, but not as nice as you would get from a made to order restaurant. Between four of us we sampled almost every roll and no one regretted their grabs off of the belt! You can also order hibachi, appetizers, and soups off of the all you can eat menu (included in the price) and they were all average but tasty as well. The bathrooms were a bit dirty, so they could definitely work on that. All in all I would go back to Sushi Train! We enjoyed our meal for a very nice price of $24.99 per person, which is a great deal for all you can eat sushi. Pro tip: if you can, ask to sit at one of the tables closer to the beginning of the "train." Not only will you get the freshest sushi, but you'll get first pick of your favorite rolls!

This place changed my life! It's literally an endless train of sushi, it's a beautiful thing. I recommend coming here for lunch, it's so affordable, quick, and you get so full. Be sure to read the all you can eat menu as they explain that (during lunch) red plates are an extra charge, and they charge for wasted food. The staff is friendly and helpful! If they have it, you have to get the Green Tea Cheesecake. It's a red plate but worth the up-charge. You can't beat prices like this. For a little more money the dinner option includes red plates and some additional options off the menu. If the sushi train isn't your vibe, you can order specific sushi from the menu as well. I've been twice, and this is my new go-to sushi spot.

The people here are very friendly, the ingredients are fresh, the manager is also very nice, I think I will come again

Read the fine print, don't get charged for not eating food! The concept can be helpful for us greedy folks to not overeat but I was too much pressure for me! No to go boxes too!

Ask the Community - Sushi Train

Is all you can eat everyday, or what day, and what time, if any?

All day but a lot isn't included in lunch. I wouldn't eat there for lunch.

We plan to come today (Saturday) I see that it doesnt close down to switch to dinner like we are used to. Are things done differently on weekends? Also what's included on the lunch menu? Is there a decent select on sushi on there?

Sushi at lunch is very limited. The good sushi pieces are an upcharge at lunch.

    Do they take reservations?

There is no need for one. We called ahead but they were a bit confused as to why, and when we got there they knew who we were without asking our name, and there were several open tables. You might want to call ahead if you have more than six though.

It tasted less like food and more like a cry for help wrapped in rice paper. My friend and I each had one bite, locked eyes in silent despair, and the rest was immediately sentenced to the trash with no possibility of parole. The Smashed Cucumber Salad, however, came in like a redemption story written by HBO. Incredible. Fresh, crunchy, perfectly dressed, and here's the kicker: the cucumber was barely smashed. As it should be. I am once again begging restaurants to stop assaulting cucumbers. They did nothing wrong. Let them remain whole, crisp, and emotionally stable. Then the Coconut Curry arrived and suddenly all was not lost. Rich, cozy, and actually delicious. The kind of dish that whispers, "stay, don't leave a one star review yet." A strong supporting actor in an otherwise emotionally complicated evening. Would I drive all the way from downtown for this again? Absolutely not. Nashville has too many places competing like it's the culinary Hunger Games, and right now this one is still in the training montage. There's potential, but we're not at "burn gas money on purpose" levels yet. Now let's talk about the staff: genuinely phenomenal. Kind, attentive, and somehow carrying the entire emotional infrastructure of the restaurant on their backs. Also, there was a ridiculously hot chef or sous chef in the back who had me rethinking years of personal growth. For one reckless second I considered asking if she needed a husband, a line cook, or someone to simply stand there and admire her knife skills. But my therapist, my ancestors, and basic survival instincts reminded me about boundaries. Also, based on the intensity of that kitchen energy, I'm pretty sure flirting would end with me folded into a dumpling and steamed. So yes, I may return. Not for the spring rolls. For closure. And possibly for the hot chef at the wok station who now lives rent-free in my mind.

I ordered delivery through UberEats, and it was at my door in less than 30 minutes! It's important to shout out the way they package their pho to-go - the noodles and meat are kept separate from the broth, and even the toppings come in their own container. This makes it easy to customize your bowl, and even keep some for later. I highly recommend tacking on some extra noodles!
