Large hot udon soup so good very tasty!

This has been my local sushi place to eat for over 20+ years! I like it because it is very clean and organize and I enjoy watching the food passes by on a controlled temperature Sushi belt. They also have flat green TVs for people watching while you're waiting or enjoying your meal, it's also an open kitchen so you see the Sushi chefs cutting the fish in front of you and you can also see the kitchen cooking the cooked items as well. This is located in a strip mall, so there's plenty of parking of course during the weekends it gets busy and the place is not that big, but it can hold a large party in the back area. Here are my favorite and other items I've ordered with or without my hubby: Spicy scallop Nigiri, nice slow heat, and the scallop is sweet Spicy scallop sashimi, scallop is sweet and fresh, and they put it on top of shredded cucumber refreshing Godzilla roll, love this role is deep-fried with light tempura with raw salmon and cream cheese and sweet dipping sauce Phoenix roll spicy tuna topped with crumbles of crunchy tempura batter Seaweed salad taste refreshing have a sesame seed flavoring oil Shrimp tempura appetizer served crispy hot tempura batter is light not oily Udon noodle soup the flavor of the broth is good. They give you a side of Asian pepper seasoning and it comes with a shrimp tempura. Chicken teriyaki the texture is a bit tough taste like chicken tenders with sweet teriyaki sauce Beef teriyaki beef is a little tough and it comes with a sweet teriyaki sauce Sesame seed balls with sweet red bean paste Fatty salmon Nigiri this is one of our favorite nigiri's. The salmon taste, fresh and buttery. California roll I like how sweet the imitation crab meat and soft the avocado in this roll Avocado roll avocado is always fresh and ripe Spicy salmon roll the salmon taste fresh with spicy flavor. You can also ask for more Asian chili oil on the side if you'd like. Super white tuna on the menu love this Nigiri and you can also ask it as sashimi Matcha green tea Vegetable and shrimp, tempura appetizer the vegetables are nice and fresh that tempura, thin and crispy and not oily Calamari sticks fried has a crispy tempura batter and cook perfectly not rubbery. The staff is friendly and the place is very clean. You keep in mind that you have to continue eating and you can't really hang out at your seat because yeah it gets that busy and people are waiting and watching you eat. Overall, we definitely come back to this location again and again never disappointed on the food and the service!

My sister and I have been loyal patrons of Sushi Station for years, and it never disappoints. While we've enjoyed the lively atmosphere of their revolving sushi station in the past a testament to its popularity, given how bustling it always is we've recently opted for takeout. Personal favorites include the Hanako, Godzilla, and Bostation rolls. The classics, like California and Philadelphia rolls, are also excellent and come at unbeatable prices. The takeout team is consistently friendly and efficient, promptly addressing any order discrepancies. For dessert enthusiasts, I recommend trying the Sasa Dango, a delightful sweet red bean paste, all wrapped in bamboo leaves. It's a unique and delicious way to conclude your meal.

Well after coming from Penang which was short staff and it takes an hour just for them to serve Malaysian food the next best thing I wanted was Japanese and by chance I ran into sushi station. I had seen this restaurant before. There's another one similar in Schaumburg that I went to. My only pet peeve that I did not like was that the server sat me in a place and that she decides to move me which was pretty rude. Other than that the ambience is okay. Three stars the way that was approached to me if they knew that they were going to seat somebody why did they sit me on the other side and then decide to move me

I've been here several times for work lunches and it's a great little sushi restaurant. It's small and fills up fast so occasionally there's a wait - usually only takes 5 or 10 min to get seated. I typically order from the rotating sushi belt which is the draw here. At lunch they often have maybe 4 or 5 "lunch special" rolls from $1.75. Otherwise the color coded plates go from I think 1 to 7 dollars. Another reviewer said they didn't have pickled ginger but they absolutely had it at my table a couple weeks ago. I like that the rolls here don't fall apart. They also have several dessert items - some non Japanese (cheesecake bites, macaroons, etc), mochi upon request (you have to order it from your server), and some authentic dishes like these rice balls on a skewer covered in a "not too sweet" syrup - they are my favorite. Service has always been really good here.

Bones as big as a penny

NOT A FAMILY FRIENDLY RESTAURANT. My family, including my 7 and 3-year-old kids, usually eat at Sushi Station Rolling Meadows at least once every three weeks. But our latest visit was disappointing, and we won't be returning. My kids really enjoy Unagi Nigiri (Eel), so we usually start our meal with 4-5 orders of it. During our last visit, my older daughter found a bone while eating, which we thought might happen with raw fish. But then I found some larger bones (see pictures below - about the size of a penny) in the eel too. I decided to inform our waiter, not expecting much, just to let them know it could be a problem for others. However, when the waiter brought over their supervisor, things took a turn for the worse, and it became clear we wouldn't be dining at Sushi Station anymore. The supervisor waitress got very defensive and claimed their eel supplier had never had problems before. When I tried to explain what happened, she rolled her eyes and ruined our family dinner. Everyone makes mistakes, including suppliers, but being rude to customers isn't the solution. I'm upset that we paid for food and service but didn't receive either, so we won't be coming back.

I've been coming to Sushi Station for oh, I don't know, about 10 years now? I have their menu memorized by now! Sushi Station is a revolving sushi belt restaurant where you can grab whatever sushi you like from the conveyer belt or you can order with a server. I'm not gonna lie - Sushi Station doesn't have some super high-quality, top notch sushi. It's tasty and definitely can hit the spot, but don't expect to have some super crazy or elaborate rolls here. My personal favorites are the San Diego roll, their gyoza, and the Caterpillar roll. If you're in the mood for sushi but don't want to pay big bucks, Sushi Station is definitely your place to go. I usually get full off of 4-5 plates! Perfect for friends, families, or even coming in and eating by yourself!

It's always great. You need to try the spicy edamame. I don't think it's on the menu. Ask for it.

Ask the Community - Sushi Station

    Do they have delivery?

No, I do not believe they deliver, but you can order for pick up

Is there any way to make a reservation or get on a waitlist?

I don't think they take reservations. Pls call restaurant to confirm. I do believe they have an iPad that they use to check in. Enjoy!

    Are there any glu-free options?

Yes, certain sushi rolls are gluten free. There is a menu that lists the ingredients in each roll and the servers can help too.

    Are there any vegan options?

I would say yes as they have strictly vegetable rolls, edamame, and miso. If you are very strict with what they cook with I would call and ask to be 100% sure.… Read more

How is the cleaning how are waiters are they nice and how is the service?

First time at a Rotary Sushi spot and I had an absolute blast! I visited for Valentine's Day dinner…read morebut had no issue getting a table for two at 5pm. They unfortunately don't do reservations for a group as small as 2 people; but for a bigger group, call ahead. The inside had an elegant aesthetic with four rotary lines all connected to the back kitchen area. One is sat at a table with an ipad to view the menu, ingredients in each item, and lists out beverages you can order. The table comes with chopsticks and soy sauce but one can call the attendant for utensils, water, or your check. It's $3.69 for every plate grabbed from the rotary. Once you finish the plate, you discard it into the table slot. The ipad tracks your plate count and for every 10 finished, you get a gachapon toy from the machine above the central rotary track. If you like wasabi or ginger, no worries as these are constantly in rotation to grab. Our favorites of the evening were the vegetable rolls, crab rangoon, tempura sweet potato roll, and the different nigiri's (umami beef, spicy kani, seared scallop, etc). If you don't see a roll on the rotary you wanted, check the ipad as you may be able to order for no upcharge. The nice robot on the top track will bring your dish right out to the table! If you're looking for a fun way to try new sushi rolls or give kids an interactive sushi experience, this is the spot to go! Tip: They have a punch card for every $25 spent. Once you hit 10 punches, you can spin the wheel for a discount. Pro Tip: While we got there early to avoid a wait, the more crowded the restaurant got... the better the rotary selections we saw.

Neat to try, good sushi, lots of gimmicks…read more In Illinois for a random trek. Decided to try a different style of rotary sushi place to see how it compares. Place is on the end of a shopping plaza. Not much to see but it looked clean and inviting. Staff was kind and explained the process. This place functions like I would expect. Each plate is a set price, you pick what you want and feed the plate into a chute on the side for your tally. If you don't find something on the conveyor belt, then you get a tablet and put it in to be shuttle delivered to your table. It's very cool to watch and be a part of. So that aspect was fun. The sushi was okay but heavily Americanized. Lots of heavily sauced and beef options. No seasoning of the rice, Tamago had torched spicy mayonnaise on top but was cold, some rolls were composed well but others were kind of bland. We did have a volcano roll that was not great. Still had to pay for the plate, which was not fun. Thankfully not much got wasted. A rotary sushi place is a gimmick in of itself. It's a good operating model, but it's a rarity in the states so there is that appeal to try something new. Then there's the plate game, if you feed ten plates into the chute you get a capsule prize. Then you get a frequent diner card that if you pay 25 dollars you get a stamp and if you get 10 stamps you get to spin the prize wheel. I appreciate game systems, but this place skirts that edge of too many. As a restaurant, it's neat to try and not too bad on price for decent sushi. There's a lot going on, but if you focus on the food then it's a nice place to have a bite.

Wow. I found myself…read morein Arlington Heights, and my buddy suggested this place due to an upcoming trip to Japan in 2027. It's a Japanese market that features an amazing food court (and this is where I spent all my time.) I don't recall the name of the stall I purchased from. But I can tell you it was quick, not expensive and very filling. I had a bowl with beef and noodles; for dessert I hit the matcha dessert stall for some matcha and vanilla ice cream. The whole place meal me feel like I was dining outside the state of Illinois. The service from everyone in the market was very friendly and they even had a sake/soju tasting by the front door (and the vendors allowed you try was much as you wanted.) I highly recommend this spot

If you love Japanese culture, food, and want to visit a neat place and kind of feel like you are…read morevisiting Japan, you need to visit Mitsuwa! Not only is there a food court of different Japanese restaurants to try, there is also a grocery store, bakery, bookstore, and stores that sell ice cream, traditional desserts, as well as crepes and boba tea! My family and I visit here often every year and we like to try the different foods and desserts and then check out the bookstore and grocery store afterwards. My favorite foods so far have been the beef udon soup with a soft boiled egg, shrimp and vegetable tempura, miso soup, and Japanese curry with rice, beef, and vegetables (carrots and potatoes). My son always gets the chicken and beef on a stick and my daughter usually gets a garlic pork dish with white rice but I forget what this dish is called. My husband also enjoys the beef udon soup like I do. I swear that whenever my food is finished, I am legit sad! The crepes are good, there is a variety of boba teas to try, and the ice creams are delicious! Lychee has been my favorite so far but I have yet to try the matcha, red bean, among others! You can get a small sample of different ice cream flavors too, which is nice! I sampled the red bean flavor so that will be my go-to next time! At the grocery store, I love buying Happy Turn snacks which are like a sweet and salty crunchy cracker (maybe it is made of rice?) that are individually wrapped and mochi from the fridge area. Finally, I usually like to buy mochi from the store right next to the bookstore. The mochi from this location is the best! I usually buy multiple flavors to take home and eat at a later time! You must try these! My kids love checking out the bookstore and they usually pick something out for me to buy for them - whether it is a book, keychain, etc. There are magazines, anime figurines, soft plushy toys, pens, and stationary, etc. It is interesting to browse through the things they have there! You cannot bring food or drinks inside but they do have a shelf at the entrance where you can place your drink there if you like. The first time visiting here, the majority of the customers were Asians and as the years have passed, there is now more of an influx of non-Asians who simply love the food and appreciate the culture, which I think is neat! The first time I visited here was with my college roommate who was from Japan and she recommended this place back in 2009 perhaps? I have been visiting ever since with my family. We travel more than an hour from Wisconsin to come here but it is 100% worth the drive! Also, the cashiers and workers there are quick, efficient, and friendly. I have even been able to practice a few of the Japanese phrases I have learned with a couple of the cashiers too (I asked if they spoke Japanese first)! Overall, Mitsuwa is my happy place! Great food, interesting finds, different culture, and everyone there looks excited to be there. This is as close to visiting Japan as I can get until I keep learning more Japanese and save up enough money to go visit Japan someday! This is my dream! In the meantime, we will keep visiting Mitsuwa!
