The reasoning I had given a 4 stars is because we didn't see our server as much. She took our order, didn't seem like they wanted to be there, gave me my salad, I had to ask another server for more ginger dressing, we needed more water had to ask another server. We weren't checked on at all, it felt like a transaction. We assumed she was doing homework at the end of the bar or something. Other than that the owner seemed like he genuinely cared about his restaurant. My fiance and I arrived around 8pm and were seated immediately. We were introduced by the owner himself, he said the fish comes from Miami. After we ordered we were given a sample to try of their chicken wontons which were surprisingly very good tasted handmade. I ordered the ginger salad and I love ginger dressing but I had to ask for more ginger dressing since you only get a small serving of it. We also ordered the TNT Roll, Miami Heat Roll, and the bagel roll with a side of chicken fried rice. All amazing especially the fried rice with yum yum sauce. read more

Excellent Valentine's Day experience! The drinks were great. The food was incredible. And the service and management attention to detail was stellar. Loved the Kani Su (really well done) and Bobby Salad. The Kendall roll was good and packed with different proteins. The Angel roll stole the show though - awesome flavors! Great ambiance, I was not expecting it when walking in from outside. It's got this nyc like vibe to it almost. Drinks were great but took forever on each one. So long that I kind of regretted ordering the last round after we finished our meals as it was that long of a wait. Fuzzy Buddha was not too sweet, just right and refreshing. I would recommend for sure! Hot sake was great and my husband enjoyed his Sapporo and one of the cocktails that was some sort of Japanese style old fashioned. Again, great drinks but just took forever. For our appetizer, we ordered pork shumai but when our waiter said they were offering appetizers half off for 10 more minutes we decided to order the shrimp shumai as well. It was fine, we were hungry...probably just frozen type shumai then cooked to be honest. Sushi wise I got the Crunchy roll and Kendall roll. Both were good, I would not say they blew my hair back but did enjoy both and their presentations were lovely. My husband got one of the sushi dinner plates. We were surprised for the price of it there was no miso soup to go with it, but he enjoyed it. We came here for date night because it's so close to the place my daughter had an event to attend. Can't say our experience was grand enough to want to go back again if we are not in the area already for something. The steak fried rice was pretty good, but not great enough to give us confidence in ordering the steak hibachi. The spicy tuna hand roll was good quality, I just personally don't love the sauce. So we've been coming to Sushi Sake since about 2010 and visited 2-3 of their other locations in Miami so we already were set on what we wanted. When we found out there was one opening in Ft Myers we were super excited. The location is very nice inside. They provide plenty of space for big and small parties. Their layout is very nicely spaced. They have a full bar with bar seating as well. When we arrived there was not a lot of people sitting so we had no wait. We were sat right away and our drink order was placed. We ordered for appetizers the edamame and the deep fried Gyoza both were as expected tasty. We ordered a side of Shrimp fried rice, angel roll and miami heat roll. The fried came out first which was perfect to share. There was a slight delay between our rolls arriving but nothing crazy. Don't let the unsuspecting façade of the building fool you. When you walk in can tell the people here care. The food was fresh and flavorful. The cocktails and sake are absolutely fantastic. The plum mojito is a must order. I cannot express enough how fresh everything on the menu is. One in our party ordered chicken fried rice and commented at how great it was. No way!! I saw the reviews and thought I would try it out. Fried rice needed nothing. Sushi was amazing we ordered the Angel roll fyi. Hibachi chicken was amazing and the portions are very good. But we asked for the check after being walked past for about 30 mins and then waited another prob 20 for the check. I love sushi and have been really looking forward to going here, as it is relatively new and I see their menu everywhere. My mother said always say good things before any negatives you may have. Going out to eat is also for ambiance and experience, feeling like you're not in your own kitchen. I really liked the interior, they even have those wee tables for intimate dining. Decor and feel, a solid 5. Upon entering, the manager gentleman told us about the place, visited the table several times, and made us feel important. Service was 4.5, our young lady was newish, abut she was attentive and tried her best. I am there for sushi and my bride more the apps and fried rice and such. Hot sake, reasonable and hot, a 5. Soft shell crab, and apps were very good. The chicken fried rice was great, and I was told it is "Right up there with the best she's had." I ordered some sushi, sashimi and a roll. The roll, an Eel California, which I saw it said baked, but I found it to be almost totally dried out and not very tasty. I was thinking I found a work around to the ordering sushi eel. The sushi and sashimi is priced per piece, and most items are 10-12 for two pieces. I thought pretty steep. My octopus sashimi, was two tiny dried up pieces, which was hard to understand how it could be dried up unless it was left out on the counter a few days. The Tuna, and Yellowtail, two paper thin pieces, and I thought it to be far overpriced. I got Ikura sushi, (salmon eggs), and it came sashimi, which happens sometimes. But it was a tiny few eggs on three paper thin slices of cucumber. My sushi/sashimi/roll rating would be a 2 at best. Overpriced, low quality and lacking QC, and a big bill for a disappointment. I was bummed. I think if I returned I would order "from the kitchen" and not sushi/sashimi food. It was a shame really. The interior and all is great, and the sushi anyway, didn't deliver. I went to Sushi Sake Monday, Sept.1, 2025. I ordered food to go and was told it would take 20ish minutes. I had to wait 50ish minutes and was late for my fantasy football draft. The person who took my order, did not really know the rolls but would go back to the kitchen to answer my questions. We also paid extra for real crab instead of imitation - but when we got the food home - discover that they used imitation Krab. I talked to Leo, the owner the next day, and he offered for us to come back and he would make it right - but we had to leave town. I gave it a 2 as the wait was way to long. We tried Sushi Sake off of Mcgregor in Fort Myers (Cibo, Crave, and Lazy Flamingo plaza) tonight. The restaurant had a nice design to it and they even have the traditional zataku table (I believe that's what they are called). Since they are still not at full capacity, there seemed to be a lot of staff waiting around. We started with the tuna tataki and edamame. I must admit I was disappointed when the edamame was brought out barely half full in the bowl. Most places serve an overflowing bowl. They had mentioned happy hour, so I didn't say anything thinking it was happy hour portioned, but when the bill came it was still $6 and there was no seasoning on them. For rolls we had the volcano roll, tiger roll, spicy conch, and California rolls. I would say they were good, but not great. While we all still had some food on our plate, we were asked if we were ready for the check, seemed somewhat rushed. We were debating dessert, but decided to just take the check. They have a sushi bar but the seats are positioned in front of the bar portion and not the sushi chefs, just thought I'd mention since I saw many people try to sit at the sushi bar but then requested to move when they realized it wasn't where they were expecting. I would rate the overall experience 4/5. I would go back again after some time, allow any more kinks to be worked out since they are new.
