At 1:15 on a Saturday, the place was empty! 1 table outside, that was it. Years ago it used to be jammed packed!!!! The chicken katsu was decent but needed something. The menu says "Add soup or salad" but doesn't have a price. Very confusing. Makes it sound like it should come with the meal. The sushi, was just eh, I've had soo much better. Quality has def gone downhill. I would have been just as happy with the $5 Publix sushi on Wednesdays. I remember the sushi being excellent years ago ($19.99 unlimited soup, salad, edamame, rolls). Now it is $18.95 and you get only a soup or salad and 2 rolls. They need to fix the raised bench seats. The vinyl material is all cracking and rubs against the back of your legs and is very uncomfortable. Bar tender and hostess were excellent. As we were leaving around 2, a couple people came in for some cocktails to fill up the bar area at least. This place is not somewhere I would run back to again. What a wonderful unique place I love the ambience. It's very welcoming as well as tranquil. The tranquility comes from the pretty blues décor and the water wall I have never been to this location. I used to go to the one downtown until they closed it and so I tried this location so beautiful & unique. They are known for their outrageous, cocktails and wonderful sushi. I stopped by for the their lunch specials. I really enjoyed their two sushi special that I got for. I believe it was 1895. You got your choice from a long list of sushi rolls two of them along with a salad, miso soup or clear soup.. I decided on the side salad which was very delicious and it came already with their ginger dressing, which is absolutely delicious when they serve the food. The rolls are not only beautiful yet. Very tasty. I truly enjoyed my lunch and I highly recommend this to anybody looking for a delicious sushi lunch. read more

This was my girlfriend and I's first time trying BluSushi, and unfortunately it will likely be our last. We placed a pickup order through the restaurant's website, which appears to be processed through DoorDash. When I arrived to pick up the order, I waited in the lobby for approximately 10-15 minutes before anyone acknowledged me. After finally being assisted, I was told my order would be ready in a few more minutes. I brought the order home (less than half a mile away) and immediately noticed issues with the food. The Lava Roll had no spice whatsoever and appeared to be missing the spicy mayo entirely. When I called the restaurant, the employee who answered simply said, "that's just how it is," and indicated there was nothing they could do. I asked to speak with a manager, hoping for some kind of resolution. The manager gave essentially the same response, stating that because the order was placed through DoorDash, I would need to contact them for any issues. When I contacted DoorDash, they informed me they could not assist because all items in the order were technically received, and that any concerns about food quality or missing ingredients would have to be handled by the restaurant. Unfortunately, this left us stuck in the middle with no resolution from either side. Beyond the customer service issue, the sushi itself was disappointing. The Lava Drops, Sugar Daddy, PB&J, and Spicy Butterfly rolls were all bland and noticeably dry. For the price, the quality was extremely underwhelming. Honestly, we've had better sushi sitting in a refrigerated case at Publix for a fraction of the cost. Between the lack of flavor, the quality of the rolls, and the unwillingness of staff to address the issue, this was easily the worst sushi experience we've had. read more

She also seemed like she just didn't want to be there, taking away our side plates when we needed them and never provided dishes for our sauce. We get the speciality rolls so we may check around to bring costs down in the future just cuz every roll is around $15 or higher. Obviously takeout the freshness or in person plating/ is compromised so take that into consideration but everything was tasty and had some good flavor. I was really wanting sushi while in town, but having eaten sushi at some amazing places across the US, I was a little skeptical. I tossed that skepticism out the window due to having had some of the best sushi ever in a dime-size town in the middle of Southwest Colorado, Durango. Who would have thought that I would have sushi there that rivaled NYC sushi. Well, sadly, Blu Sushi doesn't hold up. The sushi was just ok. Three stars at best. So, not bad at all, but not great. Again, it was just ok. The server was delightful and friendly. The hardest part of the night was being done with the food and while finishing our drinks we started paying attention to the kitchen. Holy Health Codes, Batman! The staff wore gloves but proceeded to touch EVERYTHING and then touch the food without putting on new gloves. Gross! Going from cutting sushi to touching the backroom curtain and picking up stock, to picking something off the floor and back to food is a big no thank you from me. Blu sushi is a great, quaint spot in the Fort Meyers area. It has a great outside patio with umbrellas for shade. The menu has dozens of different rolls ranging in complexity. There's something there for everyone's tastes. I will point out that sushi is really the only thing on the menu. I know some sushi places will throw in some rice dishes or hibachi - but this place truly only serves sushi and some different appetizers. I got the Summer Nights roll and it was great. We also split the Zulu Shrimp - which was fantastic. It was a pile of lightly breaded flash fried shrimp in a tangy sauce. It's very similar to bang bang shrimp at other restaurants. The service was great and the prices were what would be expected at a sushi restaurant. They had live music outside and happy hour specials. Let me preface by saying I don't like fried sushi rolls, but since the manager praised this Lava Roll I took a leap. Bad move. It was really soggy and really bland. I also got Blue Sunset and the taste was the same. bLaNd I did notice on the previous reviews the mention of over slathering with sauces. Now I know why...to give it flavor. The Tokyo Mule (think Moscow w Sake) was both beautiful and delicious. Crisp sake really made this staple a unique treat. The seaweed salad was a serious portion. All of the sushi was delivered fast and tasted super fresh. The tuna tower must have had half a pound of tuna on it, and was one of the happy hour specials. Cha Ching! The Mackeral (Saba) was the true test for me however. I order it at every sushi spot. In fact, I'm so obsessed with this delicacy, I found the supplier in Charlotte that carries it for the sushi restaurants so I could buy the whole filet and make it at home. FTW!
