Came here because Himitsu had a 2 hour wait and I am glad because this place did not disappoint. Staff were friendly and there were plenty of seating. I ordered so many things and was satisfied with everything I had ordered. Don't forget to read their specials like I did because I had to order more after I had seen the board with specials It was nice eating outdoors with my little family enjoying the nice weather. I am definitely coming back here

Sushi Nekosan is a hidden gem. San Diego does have good sushi all around but this is in the top 10. Fresh, consistent, and unique sushi. Crispy rice has been trendy for the last couple years, typically comes with tuna, and most places give you a couple pieces, but Nekosan gives you a whole roll with seared albacore and yellowtail, no words will do it justice, the twist is perfection. Yelexico, Nekosan, flaming ahi are also go-to rolls. They have a good amount of outdoor seating but it is a smaller place. Service is a hit or miss, they get busy, so expect a wait.

My mom and I came here for lunch and it's was some of the best sushi we have had. The cucumber wrapped roll was amazing, usually cucumber rolls we both take half the cucumber off because it is so thick and overpowering but here it's so thin you don't need to do that. They have a cute little outside seating area that was perfect for the day. Plus all of the workers were very nice and welcoming. We will definitely be back when we are in the area.

Great sushi and ambiance. Our service was a bit slow but still 5 stars overall! Crispy rice roll was my favorite out of these

Nice sushi restaurant in La Jolla with a large outdoor patio infront and a few tables inside. It was a cold day and we requested to be seated inside. Glad we did because it was fun to see the sushi chefs and staff at work. Everyone seemed happy working there and our waitress was very nice. I ordered the shrimp tempura roll and really liked it. Nice and light tempura batter too. My friend ordered other specialty sushi rolls. They were all beautiful but I forgot to take pictures! We ordered the shishito peppers appetizers. It came in a very flavorful sauce. The garlic edamame was also good. Parking was a nightmare. It took me about 20 minutes to find parking 4 blocks away.

Parking is rough in La Jolla but we got lucky. We got a few vegan rolls. Service was a bit slow but it was still good. All of the rolls were tasty and beautiful but they did fall apart a bit.

A little obsessed with this place, go try the all the rolls and thank me later! But the crispy rice roll is heaven

Sushi flavors were fresh and amazing! Shishito peppers were garlicy and delicious! Mint infused water was so refreshing. The miso soup was served extra hot with seaweed and tofu just the way I like it. Lots of outdoor seating to enjoy the sea breeze.

food & service was great! the price was just not great, but it is located in la jolla so that was going to happen. it's a cute restaurant with a lot of cat art! i did enjoy all the specialty rolls. my favorite was the ultimate hamachi. it had spicy yellowtail, shrimp tempura, avocado, cucumber and sprouts, topped with yellowtail, fresh lemon, jalapeño ponzu, cilantro, spicy mayo, jalapeños, soy glaze siracha and tobiko. just an excellent combination! i'd say i'd come again, but my wallet can't take it. i did have a nice time here with my friend.

Love the patio seat with fresh air, showing my friend around SD neighborhood, she was from Cambodia and Visited U.S. Sushi isn't perfect compared to places I went in Irvine, Newport Beach or Vegas but it's good enough to chill. The presentation looks pretty. We enjoyed good timing out there.

The grounds were spotless, the landscaping and different spaces were so pretty that we needed very little additional decor, and our guests had a great time. We were also able to schedule unlimited walkthroughs leading up to the wedding, which was really helpful, and there were no issues with setup, teardown, or getting our security deposit back. Communication with Carly, the venue coordinator, was always quick and professional through the venue's portal. She sent reminders about vendor COIs and other important information, which helped keep us on track leading up to the wedding. My biggest advice to other couples would be to read the contract in full and make sure you are comfortable with the venue's rules before booking. Given that it is a historic site, the rules are extremely specific and there is very little flexibility, so you have to be willing to get creative within their guidelines. In our experience, if we asked for an exception to a rule, the answer was no. The biggest challenge for us was the lack of a built-in rain plan at the venue level. There was no flexibility to use indoor spaces in case of inclement weather, so we had to spend a pretty significant amount on a tent to ensure the day would go smoothly. That said, Carly was helpful in guiding us toward vendors and coordinating with another couple so we could split the tent cost, which we really appreciated. Overall, Darlington House is a gorgeous venue, and the actual wedding day went smoothly; we loved it. If you love the vibe and are prepared to work within the rules, it can be a beautiful place to get married! Photo: @byalexaleigh Planner/Florals: @franceslovesfrancis Tent/Disco: @eventpartyrentals

The wedding and reception ran timely and smoothly. The buffet dinner offered a variety of options and everything was tasty! There were plenty of seats and tables to ensure every guest had a place to hang out before and after the formal dinner. Heat lamps and tabletop fire pits were set up throughout the venue in the evening. What I did notice was how great and attentive the staff were in every aspect - at the bar, passing hors d'oeuvres, buffet dinner, photobooth. I really appreciated a female staff member notice who wasn't drinking alcohol and provided apple cider so they can participate in toasts! A staff member was also stationed by the main entrance which I'd assume is to prevent party crashers and ensure guests aren't walking out with alcohol (they thought my water was alcohol). The only downside of this gorgeous venue is the parking situation. We parked in a paid parking garage at the Morgan Stanley building for $25. It is a 0.2 mile walk to the venue.

Somehow, this ended up being one of the best Italian meals we've ever had -- including overseas. This was our first time here, and everything exceeded expectations. They came by to introduce themselves, which made the whole evening feel so personal and welcoming. The ricotta and spinach ravioli was unbelievable -- honestly one of the best pasta dishes any of us have had. The branzino was equally impressive, and that says a lot considering how much seafood we eat while traveling through coastal Italy each year. You can absolutely taste the quality of the ingredients. The owner mentioned they import their flour directly from Italy, and it definitely shows in the food. I only wish this restaurant was closer to home because I'd be here constantly. I arrived pretty early in the morning (optimistically expecting sunshine), but even with the typical coastal overcast, it didn't take away from the experience at all. In fact, I somehow ended up with the pool almost entirely to myself--in the middle of August, which felt like a hidden luxury. The setting is just beautiful. The views, the calm atmosphere, and the overall sense of escape made it easy to settle in and relax. I spent about five hours there and never felt rushed or overlooked. The staff, especially at the cabana bar, were fantastic--attentive, respectful, and genuinely pleasant to interact with. I ordered food and drinks throughout the day, and everything added to the ease and enjoyment of the experience.
