I went to Sushi King for my sister's birthday and it was not good. The price is a rip-off considering how much food one actually eats. For example, my wife and I ordered volcano roll, california roll, and fried rice. That is all we ate for $40.00. However, we did sample other dishes. Yes, this is AYCE but if you do not eat all of your food then you have to pay extra. So, ordering and trying different things went out the window. Everything is frozen. The spring rolls tasted like they came from Sam's Club. The cabbage and carrots inside the spring rolls were mush. The crab rangoon is actually better at the traditional Chinese take-out places. It actually tasted frozen. The experience was OK. It was presented to me that you order what you want and the food keeps coming. That would have been ok if we did not have to wait about 20 minutes before our waiter came back to the table. Then we had to wait another 15-20 minutes for the food to come. I get a portion of the $18.00 was for the experience but it is not worth it. read more

Excellent place where you don't have to be afraid to pig out! The restaurant is absolutely beautiful and the service was outstanding. The manager made his way to every table to make guests feel welcomed. Our waitress, Diana, was also very hospitable. As far as all you can eat sushi goes - this place is very good! The sushi is fresh and good. Their policy and pricing are fair in my opinion and I appreciate that they have kid friendly options too. Is it creme de la creme for award winning sushi? No. But is it very good for the price and what you get, yes. read more

I have had lunch and dinner there on several occasions and it has been fun and tasty. Our waiter, Josh, was very familiar with the menu items and could make helpful suggestions of foods to try. I am now a real sushi fan but there are numerous tasty alternatives. The tempura vegetables where one of my favorites. I go back when I am in the area. read more

Disappointed to say the least. Not in the food which is ok for a 13 dollar "all you can eat" i was not expecting anything fantastic. I went with a group (about 30) of friends to celebrate a friend of mine re-enlisting in the Navy. I sat at a table of myself and 6 others. We were told by the manager extra help had been brought in to ensure our dining experiance would be pleasureable. Well it wasnt. Two of our table ordered water that NEVER came. I was lucky and received my drink quickly by comparison (20 min). It did take near an hour to get a refill of iced tea. We ordered our sushi with the drinks and another member of our table received his food before his drink arrived. It took over an hour for us to have the chance at a second round of the "all you can eat". We had to chase down the server to get him to come back by for a second order. During this hour the friend who had hit his milestone was told, by the manager, he would have to pay out of pocket because some people didn't eat and just came to support him, or some sailors could not attend due to working hours all because this manager called in help for our party. Apparently he should have called in help that knew how to actually help. The managers lack of respect in how he pulled the man of the hour away to attempt to fine him was downright insulting (he came in a bellowed for our friend by name in front of the whole party) This all being said I will never eat here again nor recommend this place to anyone else. read more

Came here because my boyfriend used to eat lunch here and he loves it. Food was fine and came out pretty fast, so one star for that. But I go to restaurants for reasons other than food; atmosphere counts. They were obviously understaffed with no manager on duty. And the place was NASTY. A sushi restaurant should be CLEAN and NEAT. I'm thankful we didn't get food poisoning. The ladies room was filthy; I hate to think what the men's room was like. On the way to our table, we passed by a row of booths with two tables overturned (???) and an abandoned broom and dustpan where someone had not finished cleaning up trash. Were they trying to close the section? It was only 7:30. We were seated right next to this mess. Then a waitress started vacuuming directly behind me, while we were eating. Don't they have a carpet sweeper? I couldn't catch her eye to tell her to knock it off, so I just plugged my hears. The waiter came to check on us and had to shout to be heard over the vacuum cleaner. I couldn't get out of there fast enough. Obviously I will never be back. I will mention that BF was happy as a clam the whole time, ordering one dish after another. So he's still your fanboi. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would!!!!!!! This is the absolute worst service we have ever received!!!! The manager Mei (pronounced may) was the most rude human being we've ever met. The food was disgusting and we ate literally TWO pieces of sushi each. It was freezing cold and stale when it was deep fried rolls. My daughter ordered rice (she's 5) and she took one bite and spit it out. She refused to give us any discount other than our military discount which we already had. She then made us wait for her to "finish paperwork" to come back out and talk to us AND she was screaming at the waiter that was doing everything in his power to help us. She told the waited to tell us "they need to just wait I'm too busy". She confronted us and told us forcefully that we ordered multiple items so we can't get money taken off even though we left all of it on our plates. We wasted $50 and she refused to do anything about it. This is NOT how you treat customers. You do NOT treat your staff that way especially with a dining room full of customers!!!!!!We just want our money back and will never return here again. She is beyond rude and so mean. read more

I've been here twice already to this just-opened restaurant. The first time, I went for lunch with a couple friends and we loved being able to order special rolls on the "all you can eat" menu. We especially liked our waiter, Jimmy. He was very attentive and friendly. I decided to bring my husband here for lunch a couple days later. This time, we didn't get Jimmy as our waiter. Our waitress seemed frazzled, as the word had definitely gotten out about this place. The restaurant didn't seem prepared for such a lunch crowd. We had to flag our waitress down every time to ask for drink refills or to order more food. The poor waitress was very apologetic and it wasn't her fault the managers didn't adequately staff the place. The food was still great, but I can't take hour and a half lunch breaks from work so I probably won't be visiting Sushi King for lunch regularly until they get accustomed to handling their customer load. read more

Well not this time myself & BFF were treated so disdainfully by the hostess in which she told other customers w bigger parties shorter wait times than our party of 2 & also purposefully overlooked us when requesting party numbers. The Charlottesville roll was pretty good, the Orchard roll was acceptable, and the rainbow roll was nothing more than sustenance. Then the receipt had suggested tip amounts starting at 18%?! Sushi King used to be my favorite place to go. Not anymore. The past two times we went there was hardly any fish in our sushi rolls. Also, the past four times food is not consistent. It seems like they have a different person preparing the food than the time before and no one is preparing it the same way. My tuna was cut very uneven. It was really thick on one side then got paper thin. Some of the fish did not seem to fresh because it was two toned. My chicken hibachi tasted like a cheap frozen microwave meal. Average... Food was ok. Just remember, it is AYCE so the quality might not be up to what you might get in a full service restaurant. What was distracting was a door to the outside eating area slammed every time it was opened. Asked out server if the manager knew and he said yes. All they need to do is to put a dish towel there to soften the slamming sound. Also, the chairs at the tables by the windows looked like something you'd see on Restaurant Impossible... We had dinner at Sushi King last night and it was amazing. The price is so good that I will have a hard time paying for sushi by the roll again. Everything that came out exceeded our expectations and our waiter, Jimmy, was fantastic. Also, it's really nice that they have affordable kids prices. And they can order anything on the menu including corn dogs, chicken nuggets and French fries. My 9 year old ordered one plate of corn dogs and then ventured into trying sushi for the first time and she loved everything she tried. For $9 for her age you just can't beat it. If sushi isn't your thing they have plenty of other offerings that are also all you can eat. I would highly recommend this place and ask for Jimmy, you won't be disappointed! read more

I used to love this place like crazy but now after dealing with a bullshit of a day I am seriously reconsidering going here! So, I left my debit card here and realized it within an hour that I didn't have it. I called the restaurant to see if they had it and they had chopped up my card and thrown it away. What kind of policy is that?! You couldn't even give me a fucking chance to retrieve it for that day before shredding it?! I am seriously disgusted with this company not to mention the service here was terrible! I waited about 10 minutes just to get sat, it was not even busy! The server had an attitude and did not want to be there. When I went back to the restaurant, I asked for a written statement for my bank or any kind of proof of the shredded card and of course the manager refused. I know I can replace the card but the fact that this policy is even available for some restaurants is appalling!
