Ambiance/decor-3 Service-3 Food-3 Strikeouts-0/3 We came here due to a friend's recommendations for their sushi rolls during dinner happy hours between 4 pm to 6pm. We got there by 5:30pm on a Monday evening and the place was pretty much empty. There was just one other couple. When we left close to 7, two other groups came in. The place was dim, with sets of wooden tables and top 40 music at a low volume. This place is good for couples and large groups up to 8. As soon as we came through the door, a waiter briefly greeted us and said we could "sit where ever you'd like." So we picked a table of four beside the window. For the happy hour menu, there are a set of sushi rolls, pad thai, chicken, appetizer that are priced at a discounted rate. Their regular dinner menu can be found online. There is also a large set of soju and alcoholic drinks. We started off our dinner with $12 triple crown sushi roll, $12 volcano sushi roll and $8 Hawaiian roll. We were content with the number of rolls it came with each set of sushi (about 8-10 each) and they were about medium-ish large size. The rice as well made, lacking rice vinegar depending on our preference but overall it was pretty well made. The triple crown roll had huge chunks of tunas, salmon, which were were delighted about. There was also green onion in the same roll, which we thought made the roll quite flavourful. The volcano sushi was mediocre, nothing special in our opinion. Finally the Hawaiian roll was a nice treat. It was more sweet roll than anything. We enjoyed the combination of pineapple, cream cheese and coco in the roll. We thought, if only there was mango and mango puree added to it, it would definitely give it a nice touch. The wasabi unfortunately was very weak and artificial. One of us had to use a lot of wasabi to get the flavour. After finishing the rolls, we wanted to finish our dinner with a couple pieces of sashimi. We ordered 4 pieces of wild salmon (since they were the same prices as farmed salmon) and ordered 4 more prices of mackerel sashimi. Both sashimi were great and fresh. Service was average. The waiter came to take our order, we asked him questions to clarify the rolls and the assorted sashimi platter. He answered accordingly. The waitress was helpful and guided us in what to ordered so that we could be thoroughly satisfied. Overall this is a good place if you re looking to try new sushi rolls, as they had a lot of variety in their dinner menu, with a decent price.We also noticed that they have certain evening events on the weekends, so if you're looking for sushi with drinks and an evening to chill out with friends or family, this could be your go to place. read more

We decided to go here after going to the dog beach, we had our dog with us and they had covered outside seating and fans. We were so welcomed; they even brought ice water for our dog in a dog bowl! The food was amazing and the price was very reasonable. We are vegetarians and there were lots of great choices. The spring roll is complimentary and they have specials with soup AND salad. The miso soup was very tasty. The server (Panita) was extremely professional and acted like we were the most important people in the world. Located close to the ocean in a nice, moderately trafficked shopping center and reviews are positive: let's go Sushi-Jo! I have never been, and hey maybe we'll catch happy hour... Restaurant open sign is on but not any cars. One of those moments you don't know till you pull open the door if they're open. They seat us. We interrupted two servers pre-shift conversation, but all is good. The restaurant is richly appointed, dark and cool. I can't wait! We're the only two customers. I ask about specials. We Order water. I ask if they have happy hour? Yes they do. Starts at four. That's 20 minutes. Can I see the happy hour menu? Server returns with our water. I indicate I want to order from the happy hour menu. Tough luck. We have to wait till four. Awkward. Server takes back our water. Should we sit there? Should we walk around the parking lot for twenty minutes? read more

This was my second time at Sushi Jo, I remembered that the food was good and it is a favorite of one of my friends. Went last night, just before 8pm, the place wasn't busy but most tables were filled. We were seated in a few minutes after it took a server 5 attempts to clean a table. I could see she was running back and forth between several tables giving checks, filling water, bringing food etc. Once seated, it took a while for her to come back to us, and even longer to take our dinner order. It was her and a second server covering the tables, I dont feel it was too busy for her to stop by to refill drinks after she made the round to all the other tables. The food was great, good portions, the specialty rolls were very tasty. The three stars is the average of great food and super slow inattentive service. Meh. read more

This place is very consistent. I had a pad thai with shrimp and chicken. It came mildly spicy. We also ordered some sushi rolls. Food is fresh and the waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable of the plates listed on the menu. The iced tea was also very refreshing. Ask to add some unsweetened tea to prevent it from coming too sweet. You can walk to the beach from there. It is located across the street from Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach. read more

Thought we had found a place to eat outside with great happy hour prices. Arrived at 5.35 pm and ordered our drinks. A few minutes later ordered 4 happy hour sushi rolls. After 45 minutes waiting we had asked our server at least three times how much longer our food would take especially as other tables who arrived after us were served. After waiting an hour we paid our drinks and left. We were told that they had received a big order which resulted in our order being delayed. One of the most exquisite sushi stops I have ever experienced. Excellent food, excellent service, and an excellent environment. What more could you ask for. I wish I could sleep in the restaurant for how much I enjoyed my experience. I highly recommend this to anyone in the area but if you are far, flying in to enjoy this delicacy is not out of the question. That is how good it was. We have eaten here before and there are not many diners till after 7. That said we went there last night because it is close to our marina and to celebrate a birthday. The waiter was as dull as could be, he never made us feel welcome in fact we thought we were bothering him and we were his only table. There were only two couples eating there when we sat down. His rudeness made us decide to quickly finish our drinks and the two rolls we had ordered and leave. We went to another restaurant in Jupiter with great staff and a nice ambience and left them with a good tip. We will never go back to Sushi Jo again ........ read more

Great place for lunch, my first time at new location and cheap lunch specials, Thai and Sushi. I tried chicken spicy broccoli stir fry ($7.95) which came with choice of Miso soup or salad with ginger dressing which I had. Greens fresh and crisp but dressing bland to my taste. Fried spring roll also thrown in which was typical. I tried the Tom Yum soup which was excellent and served Thai hot upon my request. Overall great food and service, pleasant outdoor seating accompanies nice interior which I'll try next time. This is another great little jewel tucked back off US 1 in Loggerhead Plaza just north of Donald Ross that Thai and Japanese afficionados should give a try. Sushi Jo is new to Juno Beach, but had the best sushi at West Palm store in past. Chef actually came out on my second day return for lunch and made me saltier and higher ginger content dressing to my liking, NOW THAT IS CUSTOMER SERVICE, I'll be back. read more

I am always amazed that the restaurant is not more full during happy hour. The service is very friendly and prompt- we usually have the same waitress who is very kind and attentive, always with a smile on her face. The sushi is good, but the pad thai is delicious. They also carry local beers, which is so nice to have outside so close to the ocean. The decor is clean with a lot of surfing pictures -definitely a testament to how supportive the restaurant is to the locale. To be honest, I did not eat here. I intended to, but, as I was being seated at the sushi bar, the sushi chef, who was not an Asian of any kind, was in a verbal battle w the waitress. Nice place for lunch and sushi. Everything is fresh, salads here always surprise me, because they are nicely presented and colorful in true Japanese style, often including the edible orchid. Went there this past Friday night with a female friend to catch up and enjoy a meal. The first thing you notice is the "relaxed" atmosphere when you enter. (Great start to a really positive dinner experience.) We had some tasty pork pot stickers, miso soup and hot saki to begin our feast. This was all outstanding. We then moved on to freshly made chicken and shrimp pad thai. (Excellent flavor and just the right amount of heat to it.) We then shared an Anaconda sushi roll, which was fresh and fairly large. We finished with multiple servings of mochi ice cream. ( We chose red bean, strawberry, and green tea. ) The service was "spot on" and the bill did not make me cringe too much. Will definitely be back for Happy Hour and/or when they have live music. (We were told usually on Sat nights.) Cool place! read more
