My significant other and I have eaten here several times over the past two years but now will not be returning. It is usually fairly quiet and never busy. The food has always been mediocre but the location is convenient, especially after a day at the beach. Tonight, we went with out of town guests and had a similar experience as the previous times we have dined there. Food was fine, they were out of some things but no big deal, server was only present to take drink orders, food orders and drop off food and check. All was fine until it came to paying our bill. My boyfriend paid cash and tipped roughly 20% on the pre-tax total and handed the bill to our server, not needing change. A few minutes went by as we were still finishing drinks etc and our server returned saying we did not tip him enough. I was stunned at the audacity. We are not the type of people who don't tip (even after awful service) but for a mediocre server to tell us we didn't tip enough was not appropriate. My boyfriend gave a few more dollars and we decided then and there that this was not an establishment we would give another cent to. read more

This was a major disappointment! I guess I expected they would take health concerns more seriously! We ordered take out & they wouldn't take a credit card over the phone. They said ready in 20-min, it took around 50. The woman who gave me the CC to sign wore no mask AND avoided the cashier shield. But by far the worst thing is THE CHEF DID NOT WEAR A MASK OR GLOVES!I I watched him prepare several orders before ours. I'm a big sushi fan, so I yelped sushi around me and found Sushi Jo. I went there on a Friday night expecting to find it super crowded but the place had more than enough room to handle crowds. They have outdoor and indoor seating. The hostess and waitress was very welcoming. Sat us right away as soon as we walked in. We order the Sashimi Pizza for an appetizer and it was beyond amazing. Think of a sushi pizza. Fresh fish, fresh avocado, and everything else just in one on top of a tortilla (not hard/not soft). It was delicious. After we finished the waitress came and wiped down the table and got us set up for the sushi. So the place has cleanliness as their priority for sure. Alongside that we ordered the Triple Crown, Anaconda, and the simple shrimp tempura. The rolls were huge and jammed packed with ingredients. The tempura had fresh tuna and salmon, every bite was addicting. The anaconda had salmon skin, so the warmth of it tasted awesome. The price is a bit higher than others but it's all worth it. The environment is nice for dinner with the family or even a date. I'm recommending this to all my friends that don't already know it. read more

Sushi Jo is a great place for sushi, we always come around when we want to stay close to home but also have fresh, delicious sushi. The atmosphere is calm at this location, and traffic is not heavy. The outdoor patio is nice, and the preserves around the plaza give it a calm feel. Our sushi was delicious, and absolutely fresh. We even tried a couple of new rolls and were pleased with the flavors! The Sex on the Beach salmon with lemon (actual lemon on the roll itself, not just the juice) was really yummy!! Another awesome experience at Sushi Jo! This time we brought our two dogs, and our waiter Michael was not only accommodating to the pups but also took wonderful care of my daughter and me. If you've previously read any of my restaurant reviews, you know well that I believe great food is important but friendly and personable servers truly make the experience. The green matcha iced tea is super refreshing because it is toasty outside and as usual the sashimi pizza was a great addition to my Sunday Funday. Gotta get your Omega 3s every day!!! I asked for low sodium soy and I absolutely got regular soy....wasabi wasn't spicy but salty like the Regular soy sauce.
