Atmospheric vibes were conducive to a conversation which is exactly what we wanted: not having to shout to hear each other. The service was very good. The drinks great: my smash cocktail was potent and lovely: a bit herbal with strong gin flavour, with a touch of sweetness. My husband appreciated his bold whiskey and my friend her orange wine. The serving portions are generous for the price so massive applause there! A very large bowl of padron peppers and fried chicken, and my big bowl of nasu (aubergine) pleased me with its size, utterly delicious miso flavour, and texture. Likewise my oyster mushrooms. There are two sittings for omakase each day, one at 5:30PM and one at 8:30PM. The interior is very intimate and each sitting serves 7 people only. Bookings are made at least two weeks to one month in advance depending on their policy which changes from time to time. They only accept reservations through phone calls and based on my experience, it was pretty hard to get through so I'd definitely recommend reading through their website for what to do to secure yourself a reservation. My friend and I both got the sushi & sashimi omakase, which comes with three plates of sashimi, 7 pieces of sushi (all seasonally selected!) and a sweet tamago at the end. The sashimi and sushi are all seasonally selected and exotic! I got to try gurnard and turbot sushi which I've never had raw before! The fish is not only high quality and delicious but prepped and presented beautifully too. The variety of condiments selected for each sushi was carefully thought out, elevating each mouthful. The service was impeccable as was the food. The chef's wife and the waiters always came to check-in with us and walk us through the proper dining etiquette. Under the chef's wife's recommendation, we also shared some sake and plum wine. It was lovely watching the chef prep and make each piece of sushi, exhibiting his intent and passion with every movement. The whole session lasted a little over 2 hours and we enjoyed every bit of it! I highly recommend checking out Sushi Tetsu at least once in your life! Not to mention the omakase was only for £96 (excluding alcohol and any service charge), which is cheap for the amount of food you get and cheaper than many other omakase meals found in London.

You'd be surprised to know that their specialty rolls are cheaper than you would order in most sushi restaurants... in fact most of their menu is! My favorite order to order is Value Box B, which comes with 7 pieces of nigiri, 4 pieces sashimi, 1 large roll, and 1 small roll for only £13.50. You probably can't stuff yourself with that much raw fish anywhere else with that price! A mega plus is that the staff are always super friendly!

I would have to say that this is one of the more authentic Japanese places I've been to in London. I've been on bed rest for days with constant diarrhea, stomach pain, and now flu-like symptoms from how run down my body is. I had to get an IV and miss class while studying abroad. I genuinely believe the spicy tuna roll from this restaurant is what caused it, as it was the only raw fish I ate that day. It seems like this tuna was rolled around in poop and picked up off the floor. not to mention the tuna was black. My entire study abroad has been completely ruined. I hope this review encourages Eat Tokyo to take a serious look at their food handling practices, especially when serving raw fish. I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone

We started off with Sho Chiku Bai NIGORI which was a cold unfiltered sake. It was so silky smooth and tommy told us of a common tradition of how to drink the first taste of sake to honor those who came before us. He also gave us amazing recommendations. We got 2 rolls each and felt like we were satisfied not to the point of being bloated which is always the best. The rolls we got were Dragon Eye roll, Rainbow roll, Crunchy Tuna Roll, and the Volcano Roll. One other thing to mention is they are so accommodating to gluten allergies. They helped my partner know which rolls could be modified. Everything was so so so fresh and truly incredible. The ambiance is cozy and perfect for a date night or after work dinner. The sushi was absolutely delicious, with wonderfully delicate flavours, so much so that we went back again after the show to ensure that we got to fully experience the restaurant without being flustered by the speed at which we had to eat. The pork gyoza were some of the best I've ever tasted, and the padron peppers were a perfect starter. I will eat there again next time I am in the area.

They were served with takoyaki sauce which was interesting. If you like the taste of worchester sauce then you will like it. But the filling itself was nice. The use of pickled daikon inside which was very new to me in a salmon roll provided a nice crunchy texture and added a refreshing flavour. The fish slices were mushy and only one Seabass slice in sight. It tasted mushy and low in quality The tuna and salmon sashimi was more for presentation than to eat. Even by presenting the sashimi on ice, it does not hide the fact that the tuna and salmon were not the freshest or high quality. The cut was poor, you can taste the fibers, it was mushy and lacking flavour. The Unagi nigiri was okay. The eel itself could have been bought marinated already. Nothing too memorable but at least the marinate was nice and the rice held nicely together. The potato croquettes that was given to us was a hilarious mistake. It was suppose to be our sautéed pak choi we ordered. The waiter even delivered it to us saying 'pak choi'. It was clearly potato croquette which wasn't on the menu. We started to make stories about how they might have taken the chef's lunch by mistake. We didn't fuss over it until we finished it as it was quite nice. In the end it came conplimentary as it turned out they ran out of pak choi and made us something else instead. Haha... Random! The Miso udon noodle soup was really udon placed into over salty miso soup. There was no extra meat or vegetable stock added, just instant miso paste with tonnes of wakame salad which was probably the reason why it was so salty. The egg that came with it was overcooked rather than soft boiled. The whole dish itself was something I could have made myself in 5 mins. The salmon teriyaki donburi was probably the best dish of the night. However they could have toned down the sauce as it all dripped to the bottom making the last few bites very overpowering in teriyaki sauce and salty. But other than that the salmon cut into small pieces meant it took on a lot of flavour. The red cabbage provided texture and the rice was cooked perfectly, fluffy and sticky. Although there were a few good dishes here and there I really don't see any reason to venture into this restaurant for the food. For the price you pay you can get far better quality of sushi and mains. It was a nice and funny experience overall but I won't do it again.
