Saw the reviews and wanted to check for myself what the hype is all about and was able to get a seat following their Twitter account. I've heard from the other diners that they tried calling 40-50x to get a booking. This is one incredibly good sushi restaurant. Only seats 7, so you'll feel quite special getting a seat! The setting is intimate and I definitely got to know the other diners after the service. The sushi and sashimi served here is something I've never tried before. Chef Toru Takahashi (former Nobu) puts on a great show and I was mesmerised by how each sushi is prepared. The taste of each dish is a burst of flavour, that leaves one wanting more! Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant. Yes, it's expensive and a mission to get a seat - but it's all worth it. You're not only buying the food, but you're also buying an unforgettable experience. UPDATED REVIEW (Oct 2017): After my first time here a few months ago, I just had to come back and experience it all over again. This time came with my husband to celebrate his birthday. Tried the booking line and one thing I have to say is, you just have to be patient and keep on calling. I tried 157x and eventually got through. Although follow them on Twitter as they announce there if they have free seats the next day. I called due to booking a specific date. Again, this restaurant is just amazing. We ordered the sushi and sashimi omakase. The fish is just incredible. Everything just melts in your mouth and the flavours are mind blowing. This is how Sushi should be eaten. I still yet have to travel to Japan - and I can just imagine being in that country whenever I'm in Sushi Tetsu. If you've never tried this restaurant before and you're a big sushi lover, do yourself a favour and try this place. The experience is just amazing. If I can afford to come here every week, I would!!

Such difficulty making the booking but it was worth it! Just make sure you can block out about 15-30 minutes to press redial over and over again. Had the small omakase (£60) and it was definitely enough food. A plate of various sashimi, about 4-5 nigiri (can't remember), a sushi roll and a hand roll. Super fresh and everything just melts in your mouth! Service was impeccable, ensuring you were taken care of at every stage. It was fun to watch the chef prepare everything.

DELICIOUS! After calling 180 times (not an exaggeration), I finally got a reservation for what was a lovely dinner. Bear in mind my expectations for the food were very high but Tetsu did not disappoint. The hostess, waiter and sushiman are very friendly and welcoming. The food is meticulously prepared to perfection. I have not been to Japan yet but my friends that were dining with me (and have been there a few times) said it is very authentic. Main difference was that the sushiman at Tetsu is much friendlier, which is greatly appreciated. In addition, the sakes were marvelous!

easily a match for the best sushi I've had in California, and comes a very very close second to what you get in Japan. of course it's three times more expensive than Japan but it is a beautiful experience where they really look after you. only way to go is the omakase (set menu) and let the main man do his thing. everything was sublime, toro, salmon, mackerel, prawn, ikura all amazingly fresh, and presented perfectly. the pace of the dishes is exactly what you want. best sushi in London by a mile, sh*ts on nobu/roka/zuma.

Sat at the bar. Unique presentation, and great atmosphere. This is one time where quite expensive was worth it.

The food is absolutely delicious as has been my experience in Sushi Samba! We began with edamame, seaweed salad and a few ceviches and Tiradito - Toro and Kampachi . Then a couple of rolls including one specific to the location Everything was delicious though I wish it had all been a tad bit cooler which would have made it perfect, Ended with their mochi dessert which was delicious! Its pricing is definitely more aggressive than the US location - 245 pounds / 330 dollars but it's expected as the UK is always more expensive!

The husb and I spent the day window shopping and checking out all the London shopping spots and their beautiful holiday displays. Ending the night here felt like the perfect end to the day - especially since Covent Garden is so pretty during the holidays. This location is massive and absolutely gorgeous. The foliage over the bar is amazing, and the holiday décor blended seamlessly with their signature look. We were seated at a small table on the balcony overlooking the plaza, a prime people people watching spot. The food was fantastic, as expected. Imaginative sushi that blends beautifully with the robata dishes, all with gorgeous presentation. The cocktail menu is also excellent - creative, great flavors, and memorable. Love the artful coasters! Service at the bar was fantastic. Unfortunately, table service was... not. We waited probably 20 minutes just to place our order. Our server stopped by once mid-meal after noticing my jacket had fallen off my chair (which we used as an opportunity to ask for water)... and then never came back. We had to flag someone else down to get the check. Overall, the food, drinks, and ambiance were outstanding, but the lack of attentive table service keeps this from being a full five stars. Still a great spot - especially during the holidays - just be prepared to fight for attention from your server.

Ahem, I mean, she invited me over to share her dinner with her. They give 10% discounts to students, no wonder my friend loves this place (yes we are both well over the age of university but she is doing her PHD or something). But not only that, the sushi/sashimi quality is pretty good. I have absolutely no complaints there. I have not had mayonnaise in their sushi either (hurray! Not westernised sushi!) so I am one happy bunny and will not refuse food from here. The price seems decent albeit at the high end considering you are doing takeaways. I wish I discovered this earlier. With so many new Wasabi chains opening up, it'd be so much better if they were You Me Sushi's instead. The rice bowls are made to order, so the chicken katsu stays nice and crispy, and everything just tastes fresher, unlike Wasabi. There also is no additional charge for soy sauce or wasabi. I even love the fact that You Me Sushi has more choices than Wasabi. I don't eat salmon or prawn, so I'm left with just veggie rolls at the other place. Here, I can get their specialty rolls that have no salmon or prawn in them. Affordable price, great staff, and great food. Even though this place isn't close to me, I'm definitely coming back.
