Despite this, we had an excellent meal of perch, miso soup, king prawns, beef, fried rice, teriyaki chicken and salad. This meal set cost $35 per person and was quite reasonable considering it was very filling. There are a few different menu sets, which provide diners with plenty of choice based on food preferences and price limitations. We were also given the opportunity to catch the eggs and rice in bowls, which is always very entertaining. The restaurant is great for group bookings, as everyone is centred around the BBQ. The chef was very talkative, but interfered with your conversation a little too much. While he was entertaining at times, we were trying to hold a conversation. All the food tasted fresh and was cooked right in front of us. The staff were very friendly and the timing of the food was excellent. Individual dishes were extremely overpriced and ranged anywhere from $22-$28 for standard seafood and meat.

He threw us bowls and told us he would be throwing a raw egg at each of us that we would need to catch. He threw the raw egg at my fiancé, and she failed to catch it, resulting in raw egg whites, yolk, and shell all over her skirt. I was visibly upset and spoke up, saying that was enough, but the chef insisted on throwing another egg for her to catch, which also landed on her skirt. Without hesitation, the chef then threw an egg at me to catch, which I thankfully did not drop. After embarrassing my fiancé at the table, the chef cooked and folded an egg and told us he would be throwing the cooked egg into our mouths. He made an absolute fool of everyone at the table. The other party seated with us was clearly uncomfortable with him throwing hot food at their faces, and I said that I didn't think it was necessary, but he continued. When he came around to my group, he missed several times, which led to my friends getting egg not only on their clothes but also in their hair. Thankfully, I don't eat eggs, so I didn't personally have to deal with this, but one of my friends was extremely frustrated with having food in his hair and all over his clothes. Shortly after this, a worker began sweeping the floor beside us while we were still eating. I've had hibachi a number of times, and this was easily the worst experience I've ever had. The chef seemed nice but did not know how to read the room, the food was decent at best, the portions were tiny, and the whole vibe of the place was off.

The menu was gyoza, tempura, edamame basics with very good presentation. I ordered agadashi tofu to test skills which came out as one piece, luke warm, overly bonito'd but edible. Wine selection was a plus and I did get a generous taster since what I wanted wasn't available. Overall this place has SOOOO much potential but I would not bring my friends, colleagues or family here for the quality:price ratio. I enjoyed the space but the meal and service can improve.
