Batty's got our business as we drove from Ettalong to Umina and back again looking for simple fish…read moren chips to take and eat on the beach. Not too much was open on a Thursday around 6pm. Batty's advertise they batter better but they also batter a lot. We bought two family packs and this was more than enough for 5 adults and 3 kids. The calamari and fish cocktails "looked different" to the kids so they tended to turn up their noses but they tasted OK. If you like batter then Batty's may be the place for you.

It took a while, McDonald's Umina, but you finally broke me…read more It's not enough that your staff consistently get orders wrong (I've lost count of how many times a double big mac has magically turned into a cold single mac), or that the burgers through drive-through are almost always cold, or that custom burgers seem to be replaced with regular burgers (no pickles really does mean NO PICKLES), but this time, the girl at the window poured a full large coke zero all over me and my car electrics after which I was told "don't worry I'll get you a new one" Next morning we were told they'd reviewed camera footage and it was all my fault (I guess I'll have to take their word for it?) Consistently terrible, disinterested service, impressive lack of attention to detail, a filthy store, and poor responsiveness to complaints have finally broken me. I will never, ever again make a purchase at McDonald's Umina. I'm done. Considering we have a young child and live in the area, I wonder how many thousands of dollars that is that will never be spent at this franchise? I guess you win McDonald's Umina, catch you never.

Finally a girl must have realised without customers to pay their wages they would be out of a job. After a very long wait a woman I suspect was the manager said sorry for the wait we are cooking it fresh for you, do I look stupid ?The guy was fooling around with other staff ...I watched him !! My friend in the car wondered why I took so long ...Was it packed he asked...no just me .....very disappointed, the staff need to be reminded who pays their wages .And no I wasn`t a rude impatient dragon I should have been.

Presentation has some work to do, but i put this down to getting the food out ASAP. Staff are friendly. We still go there even after the in-laws moved further away. Now thats a compliment.
