The food is legit, and I particularly liked the little square dish for soy sauce - genius! There are tables but not the most exciting setting and a little cramped, so we took our massive haul up to the outdoor courtyard upstairs to eat, and it was perfect! The menu was so expensive considering how simple the selection - and I did come in for ramen however the only soup selection was the obligatory miso. The menu was gyoza, tempura, edamame basics with very good presentation. I ordered agadashi tofu to test skills which came out as one piece, luke warm, overly bonito'd but edible. Wine selection was a plus and I did get a generous taster since what I wanted wasn't available. Overall this place has SOOOO much potential but I would not bring my friends, colleagues or family here for the quality:price ratio. I enjoyed the space but the meal and service can improve.

We now go to the one that has just opened at Glendale as it's closer, but the same quality and service is upheld at both venues. The sushi is always fantastic - fresh, good quality and new creations are frequently added to the menu. The staff are always so attentive and if there is any thing you would like made from the menu it is promptly made and ready for you before you know it. And it is very reasonably priced. I would recommend Sushi Bay to any of my friends and will hopefully always be a frequent customer! :)

I found the quality of the sushi was pretty good for a sushi train. They were constantly making new sushi and adding it to the train therefore you were never really eating "old" sushi. If the sushi you wanted wasn't on the train, you had the option to order it off the menu and they get served to your table very quickly. There's nothing to complain about this place. And then Newcastle got a sushi train. I forgot my one cardinal rule of eating in Newcastle - Don't Get Excited. We nipped in for a late lunch - around 2pm. We were told to take a seat politely. But that was it from the staff - no drinks were offered, I had to help myself from the drinks fridge, and we never got to order the two hot entrees we wanted because no one came near us. The hot dishes were tepid at best, and the cold dishes were room temperature, which made me cautious. Most of the sushi rolls were drowning in day-glo coloured sauces to the point that you couldn't determine what filling the rolls had. And this place has a love affair with cream cheese. More than half the rolls on the belt had cream cheese, which I initially assumed was tofu. Have you ever had a tempura prawn and cream cheese roll? It is the definition of disgusting and a crime against nature. The prawn wontons tasted odd - they didn't appear to have any pork in them, but had a slightly porky taste, which might have been the wrappers themselves or contamination. Again, served tepid. Nothing new was added to the train, despite two staff members assembling dishes in front of us, possibly stockpiling for dinner. However, the crab balls were delicious and reminiscent of those served at Thai mainstay Sticky Rice, if not hot enough. The mini spring rolls were pleasant, but again stone cold. In the end we left, laughing in shock, leaving behind at least half of our meal uneaten and went home for sandwiches. We won't be going back to Sushi Revolution again - the food is below subpar and the staff avoid you until the bill has to be paid, when they start cooing about how everything was. And, quite frankly, I may need counseling after the tempura prawn and cream cheese (honestly, how the heck did they manage to make the tempura prawn colder than the cream cheese?!) because that is a taste sensation that never needed to be invented.

On the positive side though it doesn't take long for the plate to come back around if it hasn't been snatched up along the way. We went on a Saturday night which you would typically associate as the peak time of operation for restaurants but yet they were out of 75% of their non sushi menu. Limited udon to choose from. No ramen. No rice bowls. Much disappointment. Sticking to the sushi I thought it was quite good. Everything tasted fresh and the saucy ones had good flavour to them. Selection wise I thought it was a bit limited when compared to other sushi train places. Their hand rolls could do with some better flavours similar to what they have at makoto. So maybe it's that we eat a lot but I think it's more the prices but for two we spent about $60 and were full but not like we were stuffed. So a bit on the expensive side for something as simple as sushi. Thank goodness for the entertainment card!

The only problem is that now, in Castle Hill at least, they get so busy its sometimes hard to find a seat. Fortunately Japanese sushi doesn't take long to eat, so if you're prepared to wait around someone will soon leave. They also make great platters for parties.

I ordered the katsu chicken ramen an shared the magma roll. The katsu chicken wasn't your normal golden brown coloured exterior but nevertheless tasted really good. I thoroughly enjoyed the ramen after I heaped on some chilli flakes. This isn't readily available on the table so don't forget to ask if you're a fan. The soup was pretty delicious and I almost drank my bowl dry. The magma roll was a bit disappointing though. Not as hot as I expected. Having salmon and canned tuna pieces together probably isn't the best idea either. The tuna definitely out ways the salmon even though it's the salmon you really want to task. Overall a great place for a ramen fix if you are ever in western sydney.

The menu is basic but covers the whole range: sushi, sashimi, ramens, udons, tempuras, bentos, entrees etc. I go here so often (eat in or takeaway) because everytime I order it's like ordering for the first time. the consistency doesn't drop just because you're a regular, which I've had with many other restaurants before. The quality is awesome, especially for such a small restaurant. I've been visiting this place since it first opened and been a loyal fan since. FYI they do open on Sundays now so don't be deterred!
