I was told at another dentist that my son would have to be put to sleep for his tooth extraction and that I would not be able to go back with him before he went to sleep. Dr. Davis was extremely patient and reassuring, explaining that she would be able to extract the tooth using only local anesthesia and that it was not necessary for my son to be put to sleep for such a short and simple procedure. The price was $279 for the visit but they will push you to sign up for their membership. Which is essentially a subscription program to lock in monthly revenue. All this fine it is a business. I don't fault a business for trying to be profitable but we were there specifically for a lip tie procedure for our daughter. We have a dentist that accepts our insurance but Maggie was recommended by our pediatrician because we were told she specializes in lip tie procedures. As soon as her staff realized that we were not going to be monthly reoccurring revenue but one time customers the $279 turned into over $600. It was one excuse after another. This is an emergency exam, plus a preliminary exam, plus the actual lip tie procedure..... Keep in mind the 2 exams that were over $450 took 5 minutes in a chair with no equipment other than Dr. Maggie's hands and a iphone to snap a couple pictures. I paid it out of pocket because I wanted to do what I thought was best for my daughter. We realized how incredibly deceptive this entire experience was the next day when we saw our dentist. He apparently knows Dr. Maggie because they went to dental school together. She flat out asked us where we were currently going and knew that our dentist accepted our insurance and performed lip tie procedures but purposely omitted that information while racking up the bill by 220% from the original price we were told by the front desk. When we told our Dr. how much we paid for the procedure he was furious. He said 30 minute exam plus lip tie procedure should not even come close to the price we paid. I don't doubt that it may have been true at the time, but from my experience with the current staff, everything must have changed drastically. The current dentist is Dr. Amber Gilton. She and her staff are very professional, thorough, and pleasant. Our family of 4 are all fairly new-ish patients of hers (about a half a year or so) and are VERY happy with the service we've received there. I was happy with my previous dentist and my kids had a separate "kid's dentist" who we LOVED. We were so sad that we had to change, but we had to due to a change in insurance. I think we were all reluctant at first, but it's been quite a pleasant surprise how much we like her and her staff. It's also nice that we now all have the same dentist. I was just there yesterday for my daughter's cleaning. I felt that Jessica, the dental hygienist there, really gave us outstanding service. My 14 year old has never had a single cavity, but was starting to have some difficulty doing a good job keeping her teeth clean. We spent some time talking about it and about the tooth brushes my kids are using. I had recently bought them the "fancy" grocery store version of the electric spin tooth brush. Turns out those cheap versions, trying to look like a legitimate spin version, actually don't work as well as the old basic tooth brush. She took the time to really explain and show us the difference. I really appreciate that kind of attention and service. It's so hard to find that these days. A few hours later I get a call from Credit consumers. Someone is using my Social to take out a $50,000 credit card loan. Later that day I went for my dental appointment. I asked Carrie if they uses a 3rd-party phone service? I told her I don't usually give my social out and there was an issue. It could possibly be if they use a 3rd-party phone service someone might be able to tap in? She took it personally and told me she was offended. I had to reiterate myself "I didn't say you did it. I'm asking if you use a 3rd-party service!? Time lapsed and I told her I was offended at her accusing me of saying she did it. She then told me one day 3 patients had all been to Costco's and got gas and couldn't use their credit cards. Not sure if that was her way of trying to "make it right". The dentist Caucasian female in her 60s. Referred me to coastal jaw surgery and said I need a root canal right in front of the root canal tooth that I had done in Broward. Which was completed less than a month ago. She the referring doctor signs as "a.k.a. Dixit DDS" then she proceeds to tell me I have periodontal disease and I need to do a tooth scraping procedure below the gum line. What!? I just spent $25,000 on my teeth in Broward they never mentioned anything. Because I wouldn't do their deep scrap cleaning they wouldn't even clean my real teeth. It was a $300 cleaning which my Dental Insurance would pay half. Leaving me 150 out-of-pocket I don't have periodontal disease. If I did, it would've been brought to my attention in Broward. I have no pain. My gums are pinkish as they should be. Stay away from this place. Although I do find many medical places, I believe are now trained to create a big bill more than really help you with your health. I should've left when Carrie told me she was offended, thinking I accused her of using my social.

After being seated in the chair Dr. Harkins came in and after my looking at the crowns I said you can insert them but I do not see any correction or improvement to the crowns, Dr. Harkins responded to me that he would "return my money and i could go elsewhere for the crowns". I went to the front desk and told it takes about a week as the approval has to go to Corporate, it has been 2 months and Dr. Harkins received the insurance payment for 2 crown preparations, and he has kept $685.00 initial payment. I never received the crowns and the Dr. kept my money after he excused me from the office, No initial impressions were taken prior to the crowns being drilled and prepared, the crowns were dropped on the floor, during the initial attempt at insertion, at the first appointment for the crown insertion, the receptionist removed my temporary crowns and the way she cleaned my teeth for the crowns to be inserted was by wiping them with a 2 X 2, in my past dental experience, for a crown insert, I area was numbed the temporary crown was removed, the area cleaned with pumice and then the crowns were inserted, There was no attempt to property clean the teeth after the temporary crowns were removed, the plan appeared to be insert the new crowns into the prepped teeth not cleaned. I will say however Ivana made comment to me that they had had a lot of problems with the lab. as you can see from the photo the tooth on right is narrower on top, one long narrow, one shorter rounder, different sizes, different colors and the one on the right is angled out turned at about 5 degree angle different than the one on the left. It is a sad day when a dentist tells you they would return your money and you can go elsewhere, to tell you a lie and keep your money remember I told him one had one sentence with him he could insert them but I was not happy.

One is regular cleaning dental area and the other is the ortho section. I have one in each side. The ortho side is wonderful. No issues very good at what they do. They have competent doctors and techs. Although my son hates his braces he's never complained about how he's been treated, other than one time and it was a busy day in the office. The doctor seemed rushed and missed his tooth hitting his guns. It was not a huge deal and healed quickly. The cleaning side is a bit different. It had wonderful doctors but there is one tech in particular who is rough and brash and I honestly don't think she should be working with kids. She is not friendly and I've heard many kids including mine complain about her. Other than that, the office staff is great. I used to be s patient on the adult side. There is a tech there as well who is brash and rough. Zero personality and seems to hate her job. Not someone I what with her hands in my mouth. I had two caps done there after two root canals and I've had more issued after than before. They are good just not for me. I had complications that may or may not have been in their control. Which nitrous oxide is an anesthesia gas (the office manager told me that it wasn't, She either didn't know or was lying, both are dangerous and unacceptable) and can be deadly if administered improperly. When I insisted on using local anesthetic, like we all received as kids, the dentist said no it's to much for her to deal with the kids possibly moving?!?! Parents please google nitrous oxide and pediatric dentistry. First thing is child death. If that's not enough, they will try to get multiple visits to maximize billing.
