This was my first visit to the this library since I moved to the area last February. As I decided…read moreone of my resolutions was that I wanted to get back into reading so this was the first step! So I went inside on February 1st to use the computer as I needed to prints some copies. The library is less than 5-minutes from my house so very convenient location. When I walked in I was greeted by the nice lady at the desk. She signed me up for my library card and gave me a quick overview of the library. What I really liked was that you get free copies up to 10 pages each day. Which at my last library you paid for every sheet! So after I printed out what I needed I walked around the library to see what they had to offer. Now the library is on the smaller size so they didn't have loads of books, but I loved the selection they had and checked out my first of many books. I also really liked that they give you like 3-weeks before the book is due which is awesome because it's been a while since I read a book unfortunately. So to give me that long I'll be able to definitely finish the first one of many books without any problems. The library has a nice open set up with the computers located in the middle, private rooms, teen area, and also for the younger kids a nice selection. I also like they have some comfy chair areas that you can sit and enjoy your book as well. I can't wait to come back!

This library is quite and safe I always have a privet room for my teleworking needs, When my…read moreinternet service go's out I can come here and get a privet room for my work!

Library of Congress -- A Living Monument to History…read more Few buildings in Washington, D.C. carry the weight of history as effortlessly as the Library of Congress. It is not merely a repository of books, but a living archive of the American story--one that reveals itself the moment you step inside. For visitors to the nation's capital, this is not optional--it is essential. The current exhibition, The Two Georges: Parallel Lives in an Age of Revolution, is particularly compelling. Through the intertwined narratives of George Washington and King George III, the exhibit captures a world on the brink--an undeclared nation edging toward war, a fragile cause facing overwhelming odds, and ultimately, the improbable path to independence. What makes this exhibition stand out is not just its historical scope, but its perspective. It does not present history as a foregone conclusion, but as a series of uncertain, high-stakes decisions made in real time. That tension--between inevitability and risk--is where the story comes alive. Accessible, visually engaging, and intellectually rewarding, this is an experience that resonates across generations. If you find yourself in Washington, make the time. Some places inform you. This one reminds you why the story matters.

I have only visited the Library of Congress at a personal level a couple of times. Other visits…read morewere due to events/meetings there. If you are visiting D.C., I cannot stress the importance of a stop here. To this day, it remains the largest library in the world. Pretty impressive. It's also the oldest federal cultural institution. Periodicals, books, etc. available in over 470 languages. More than 178 million pieces of articles from manuscripts, recordings, photos, printed materials, to books and so on. Library acts as a source of research for Members of Congress and handles copyright laws. This building and all its components are an important part of our nation's history.

I have been going to this library since I was Ram. Probably before that, honestly. I have never had…read morean issue with the staff, or the children that frequent the are. However, I feel that in comparison to some of the other libraries that they have a lesser selection of books, which is a bummer. But, you can just request books from other locales to be sent to you. This branch doesn't appear to become too crowded, so it seems to be a great space to utilize the free internet for research or whatever your needs are. Also, if I'm not mistaken, there are large room that are used for educational purposes, classes and the like.

I'm a bookworm and proud of it. (I hope that fact won't make my review impartial! Nor the fact that…read moremy 'heavy user' status has me known by name by the check-out staff...) I visit this library at least once a week, if not twice, and everyone on staff there is friendly and welcoming (props to Mr. S especially!) This place is tricked out. Wifi available, plenty of computers, reasonable hours (no Sundays since the '09 budget cuts, sadly), and good selection of magazines; what more could you want? The facility and its bathrooms are clean and well maintained. It has self-checkout, and a 'help yourself' shelf for your hold items. The only thing I might ask for is a bigger selection of titles at this branch. Often, newer books are only in the bigger branches. But hey, I guess that is what the iPhone catalog app for placing holds is for!
