The next weekend we took a trip pt to the store and were pleasantly surprised at all the selections they had. One thing we liked was although a sales person introduced themselves, they did not walk around with us throughout the store or even huddled nearby as were walked the store. I just don't like having that feeling of being watched throughout our shopping experience. A very large selection of various living room furniture that was divided basically by reclining or not. Let me tell you we have been looking for a comfortable sofa set for over a year, going to all different stores. But we have found a set that was reasonably priced and most importantly: comfortable. Although we got a quote for the set and went home to discuss it, we pretty much had made up our minds that this was the store and that was the set we would buy. Overall experience was great, staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful.

Whether 'bait and…read moreswitch' is at play, I cannot prove but comfort level of mattress was significantly different after usage at home. I require a very comfortable mattress that has integrity to support but is not like a prison plank! It has no structural give to it making it hard and lacking any comfort. Having a severe case of degenerative spine disease it increases my pain level to be on a bed so hard and uncomfortable all night, night after night. There is no possibility for an exchange! I would never have bought it if it had felt this way in the store and this was a top of the line purchase which leads me to believe 'bait and switch' is a strong possibility, too expensive to be taken in at 750.00! I knew I couldn't just take home because the item was heavy as heck and if I took home I would put off and procrastinate. Wilson is centrally located on Washington ave north haven. Owner graciously met me downstairs, removed item from my car and took the time to inspect the item and point out the "gem" I procured as he compared my lounge to the "prefab won't-last-five-years chaise lounges of today. He asked questions on where the item will be stored (high traffic va low traffic areas of home) and when i answered he provided a plethora of fabrics to consider. Most importantly, he did NOT expect full payment that day! Whew!! What a relief. Starting a new business is expensive so not having to make full payment before work commenced made my day. Chair is absolutely a transformation. Comfortable and I can't wait to use as a prop. Love the oatmeal color I chose.

And a family heirloom should now see more generations to come. Thanks again Rich! Service and Skill are top notch. Rob

She spent a lot of time learning what style of furniture I liked and steered me in the direction of a great quality sofa. I would say the most impressive thing that meant the most was when I was looking at books and books of fabric which took a few hours, she didn't put any pressure to speed it up . She would leave me for a while and then come back to check to see if I needed any help. I appreciated her help and expertise.

Wow, so this place is positively dripping in elegance from ages past. Do you need a masonic stained…read moreglass window? Maybe not but they have them. What about a gilded room that looks like it was ripped out of Versailles itself? I mean, who DOESN'T want that...? Or retro lighting fixtures from virtually every decade since the light bulb became a thing? The shop is overflowing with antiques and there are allegedly many additional warehouses of items behind the scenes. This does, at times, make navigation around all of the stuff hard, so this store may prove challenging if you have mobility difficulties or small children. The revolving nature of the items also means that not everything has an apparent price so there is also the danger of falling for something (literally or figuratively) to find out it is several hundred, if not thousands, of dollars more than you expected. However, most items appear to be quite good quality (staff indicated that they sell a lot of items to movie/television sets) and refurbishment + transportation is included in the price in some of the larger items (stained glass windows, for example). The rear portion of the shop also has a work area and I think they offer restoration classes. Definitely a unique place that fits in and adds to the eclectic vibe of Middletown. You might wander in to find yourself dazedly wandering out 75 minutes later.
