He was easygoing, knowledgeable, and had that low-pressure style that makes shopping actually enjoyable. He pointed out the fit and fabric details I would've missed and made sure I got the right size. The store itself has a great beach vibe organized layout, solid mix of surfwear and casual pieces, and prices that don't feel inflated like some coastal shops. This store is the outlet edition of their other stores so when we walked in, we saw tons of signs on the racks saying there are sales. Many were worth looking into. I wanted to get a wetstuit for the first time and was guided by the friendly and chill staff on what the differences were between a 4/3 (4mm torso/3mm limbs, better mobility for cool water) and a 5/3 (more core warmth for colder water, slightly stiffer) wetsuit. The prices here are definitely on the pricier side ($200-500), but I was able to get a good 5/3 wetsuit deal for about 120$. I'm excited to try it out. Fittings rooms are reasonable size. I felt like a seal when I was able to fully try one on. Lots of great selections to look at!!! My girlfriend wanted to get a bikini on the sale, but lots of the tops and bottoms were missing each other counterparts.

People are usually pretty chill about not knowing all the rules of surfing at this park and the waves are some of the easiest to get up on in SD. I've really never had an issue with someone yelling at me, and people are generally pretty friendly about giving pointers when needed. Parking is really tight so be prepared to find something on the street, but overall you want to be out here if you're just getting wet for one of the first times.

Now, Sun Diego Boardshop resides there and today I walked in for the first time and my mind is blown. This place is a massive clothing store! The staff was grooving to CSNY and Steely Dan. The beach vibe is at high tide. Service is outstanding, with Lance, Charlie, and their cool boss Ella. I bought a pair of black dungaree shorts and they are as nice an' comfy as Levi's, for about $45. They also sell surfboards and ukuleles too. He did half day surf camp for three days. 9-12. I took the days off work to be with him and watch. They provide wetsuits, so helpful. The Surf teachers were all so attentive and I felt safe having him there. It was 4 teachers for 11 kids. I loved hearing the teachers surf lingo. And just hanging out for the mornings with the kids and surf friends. Teachers did a morning stretch and then got them out on the water. My son was catching waves right away. Mid-day they had snack break and made sure to reapply sunscreen. Last day they had a pizza party at the surf shack for all the girls and boys.
