I had the crawfish étouffée and it was very good. I'm used to it being made with a darker roux making it smokier but it was still very good. The cheese wasn't even melted when the oysters arrived at our table, which was surprising and definitely took away from the dish. I wouldn't recommend Sharky's, even if you're just looking for a quick pit stop. There are so many other dive bars and restaurants in the area that seem like they would be much more fulfilling, especially after looking at some of the other menus and prices around Panama City Beach. Our server, Trent, was fantastic! He was personable, attentive, knowledgeable, and happy to answer all of our questions. The customer service was definitely one of the highlights of the evening. We started with salads and appetizers. I ordered the garden salad with Caesar dressing. The dressing was absolutely delicious--one of the best parts of the meal--but the salad itself was disappointing. It consisted mostly of romaine lettuce with just a tiny slice of onion, a couple of cucumber pieces, and a few carrot strips. The crab cakes, on the other hand, were excellent! They were flavorful and paired perfectly with the remoulade sauce, which tasted fresh and homemade. For my entrée, I ordered the stuffed shrimp. Unfortunately, it fell well below my expectations. The dish consisted of seven shrimp, each topped with just a small dab of crab stuffing. While the sauce was delicious, the overall presentation and portion of the stuffing left the dish feeling underwhelming. Around the table, opinions were mixed. The fried okra and hush puppies were both big hits, and everyone agreed the oysters were excellent.
