We finally gave the ultimatum with a deadline to give us our money or we were calling the police. We got our money, thankfully, but I don't understand how they are still in business. At one time, while Paul was still alive (Tracy's husband), Northwood Kitchens delivered a good product. They must be running on fumes, or other people's money. Stay as far away as you can. As the previous reviewer stated, she seems professional and caring upfront. She even brought her mother along to help measure our kitchen. However, once your money is in her hands (thank God we only paid a fraction of what the final cost was to be), she is nothing but excuses and lies. She had actually done work for us in the past so we considered her something of a friend. That didn't stop her from shamelessly ripping us off. She strung us along for months, until we finally pulled the plug and went with another company, who gave us a fantastic kitchen, with stellar workmanship. They were honest and above board all the way. Unlike Henderson. Fortunately, we were able to afford the hit but what about those who can't walk away from a scam unscathed? Believe me, Henderson wouldn't care one iota. It is incredible to me that she she is able to sleep at night but then, anyone who uses her "dying" husband (he was already dead, when she tearfully tried that trick) to prevent her marks from getting antsy will truly stoop to any low, apparently without regrets. Run away from Northwood Kitchens and this con artist before you lose a bundle!

I can recommend Door County Natural Stone without reservation…read more I recently completed a renovation of my kitchen with the major focus being a complete redo of my countertops. Always looking for ways to maximize value and obtain a quality product, I am an obsessive planner and analyzer of my options. Here is what I found through hours of work on this, so you don't have to. The Experience: I reviewed and visited both local and big box store countertop providers. Right from the start, I found Door County natural Stone to be an optimal choice. I first presented to their office site with only a rough idea of what I envisioned. They walked me through the different options. They patiently listened to my hopes, educated me of considerations that were quite useful, described an efficient process to success, planned out a product purchase that took into consideration different price options and quality choices. When ordering this not inexpensive stone product, they took great care in in analyzing the cutting options to minimize the required slab needs. They basically held my hand through the entire process. This was not my experience at competing providers. I think this is one of the main advantages of staying local. The Installation Process: Without delay, DCNS ordered my selection and it arrived in a timely fashion. Jeff's team arrived as scheduled for templating and tear out of my old countertops. They gave due consideration to possible alterations that might improve the final result. On install day, the craftsmen arrived at got to work in a focused manner taking care to make the process as painless as possible all the while protecting my home from damage. They did an excellent job and I was super-impressed that they cut and installed the stone without a single seam. They had obviously taken care to plan a cutting that made for the best aesthetic result possible. My countertop choice has a veined pattern and they even took the effort to match up the veining pattern. They cared. They wanted the customer happy. They clearly take pride in their work. They cleaned up after. All good. The Price: So I shopped around ....a lot. What I found is that even though one would anticipate the Big Box stores would be cheaper....when one actually compares apples to apples including items such as sink install, product cutting related order volumes, transport, and support... the prices come out very similar. When this is married to the improved quality, care, and concierge experience of our local DCNS ....I believe it is the best value choice. So, in sum, I can recommend Door County Natural Stone without reservation. I am happy with my choice. There is a confusing amount of considerations and competing providers in the home improvement space. DCNS recognizes that they rely on their local reputation, thus care about providing a quality product, excellent craftsmanship, and a satisfying buyer experience. I will use them again. Excellent.

We met our interior designer at their showroom and had our architectural plans with us, which I recommend. The process of choosing materials for your home's counter-tops, backsplashes, and other surfaces couldn't be easier. I recall them having a good amount of "stock" surfaces to choose from when we built back in 2011, but their choices have significantly expanded since then. We were able to select from a wide variety of quartz and granite at a very reasonable price point, but they have a huge selection of materials should you want something other than their stock selections. They are also happy to price out different material choices for you before you make your final choice, which makes the process that much better. Top it off with great service and professional installation and choosing Top of the World Granite becomes a no-brainer and I can recommend them without hesitation.

On July 18, we went to Paxton and selected Copper Mist for our basement bar. We were given a sample to take home and received a quote totaling $984.13 using the remnant we had selected. At no point during that process were we told that we needed to place a deposit to secure the material or that the piece could be sold to someone else while we were moving forward with our project. Based on that selection, we continued planning our bar and even purchased our sink specifically to coordinate with the Copper Mist. Unfortunately, there were errors and confusion with our project information from the beginning. We returned to Paxton on August 8 and again confirmed what we had selected. We then learned that the material we had been planning our entire project around had been sold. The proposed solution was essentially for us to spend approximately $3,000 to get the material we originally expected to purchase as a remnant for a project quoted at $984.13. I understand that remnants are limited inventory. What I don't understand is why we weren't clearly told what we needed to do to secure the material, particularly when we had received a quote, taken home the sample, continued communicating with Paxton and were making other purchases based on that selection. Mistakes happen. What has made this experience so frustrating is the accumulation of mistakes, the lack of clear communication and, most importantly, the lack of ownership or a meaningful attempt to make the situation right. Three weeks later, we're now essentially starting the countertop selection process over again through no fault of our own. For a purchase like this, customers rely on the professionals they're working with to explain the process and tell them what needs to happen next. That simply did not happen in our experience.
