Well I'm still waiting. Not a call, not a word. I love the store but will now think twice and will always go over my receipt if I shop there again. So they can keep the $8 if it means that much to them but people need to be alerted.

I didn't get much time to peruse and shop the islands, but after my first visit to Island Pursuit I quickly became a avid supporter. Island Pursuit is located in a sizable outdoor shopping mall off one of the main drag sin Sanibel, and it's easily one of the best stores in the mall. Island Pursuit carries both men's and women's casual apparel. Their apparel ranges from Havaiana sandals to Tom's shoes, t-shirts to shorts to dresses, and Longchamp bags to affordable accessories. Their prices aren't cheap, but you end up paying for better quality and fashionable items making it well worth the extra pennies. I even stumbled upon two brands that I fell in love with - Vineyard Vines (classic cuts, preppy) and Before & Again (printed t-shirts and dresses made in the USA). I made the 30 minute journey twice within two days and made them both worthwhile. There was one sales associate there each visit and she was one of the most genuine, helpful, and hilarious people I've encountered in retail!

Melissa was so kind and willing to help that she even found another top to be delivered to me from the maker of the top in France. Melissa kept in contact with me so that I would be assured that I would in fact receive the top as soon as it was located. Thank you, Melissa! The Shops offer a variety of women clothing stores to suit almost every taste, there are children+toy stores, eateries, a souvenir shop (and not a cheesy one either)- to name a few. While this place isn't flashy with De La Renta, Karan and the like, the clothing stores- for instance, are exclusive in their own tasteful Sanibel way. Some clothing can be too pink and turquoise for me (think of Vineyard Vines), but then there's the other side of Sanibel that's almost clean-cut with a minimalist feel. As was the case when I purchased 3 different minimalist-styled tops from two of the women's clothing stores in the plaza. Parking is a breeze. Grounds are immaculate. Take your time and venture to the 2nd floor also. In the many years hubs and I've been coming to the island, bringing gifts home has always been easy.

Of course there's all the cheesy knick knacks too like magnets, snow globes, shells, glasses and others. Those were as expected: not high quality but higher price. Unfortunately, this location is a long way from being the type of Brooks Brothers shopping experience I've come to expect. From walking in, I was all-but completely ignored. Eventually, I sought someone out to point me to a fitting room. I asked the same salesman if they had a different fit of the trousers I tried on, and was instead given sizing information for shirts, not trousers. When I tried to pay, I was ignored at the checkout counter while the man and woman were having a separate conversation. Then they debated between them who was going to check me out, with the woman saying in front of me: "I can do it if you want." I've never seen people try so hard to not earn a sale. If I wasn't there with a specific purpose to re-stock because there isn't a BB store near where I currently live, I would have walked out. The clothes are still great, but this is now the second consecutive Brooks Brothers store I've been to with very poor service, the other being the Lenox Square Mall in Atlanta, GA, which was even worse than this one.
