Loaded a small Uhaul…read morefull of debris (half general construction and half dirt) this off the beaten path spot is one of many things that I just can't Yelp as so many non-food locations are on Yelp or sometimes Google for that matter. First step arriving on site is pulling up to an "alleyway" with a large scale. Truck and driver would be re-weighed after. Upon queuing up, the back of the truck literally opens up to a large yard of debris while "the claw" picks from the center. Bulldozers enter every other truck to push the debris towards the middle so the claw can pick and dump to a large hopper. Sprinklers are always on at the perimeter and water sprayed to control dust. It's like a video game or a movie but real -the smell and the danger

Allocco recycling is a reputable scrap metal yard. They are very professional in every aspect of…read morethe business. They make selling your scrap metal very easy. I have experienced selling my metal to just about every scrap yard in the boro's and L.I., without a doubt this scrap yard is the most largest, professional and organized scrap yard in the metro area. It's a pleasure to be able to drive in on either 1 of the 2 truck scales without hardly ever a wait. The size and structure of this location makes it very convenient to sell your metal. It's great, because time is money in any business. I don't want to spend half my day at a scrap metal yard , I am not earning when I'm waiting in a line to dump my load of metal. I want to be able to drive in and out in the least amount of time and get on to my next load. They buy ferrous and non ferrous metals and they pay high fair market prices on all metals and most importantly, they are very honest with the weight. They have modern digital scales that display your weight on and off the scale, so you can actually see how much material you had. I would recommend this scrap yard to anyone who is looking for a place that pays (very) fair market prices and an easy experience to off loading your material. This yard is huge, very organized and by far the most friendliest staff of any scrap metal yard i have ever frequented.

At first I thought the guy couldn't make up his mind on where I needed to pull the car over in the lot. I didn't realize I was driving on and off the weigh station. He didn't tell me what was going on so I was a bit confused. However it was a very busy morning and now I know the process . I will definitely go again if I need to drop off heavy scrap metal . I recommended this place.

We had mostly amazing experiences with Junkluggers for 4 separate cleanouts of a family home with…read more30+ years worth of stuff. The guys even frequently stopped to admire items and would ask if they could keep little trinkets. The crews worked really hard and will hustle to get the job done. They also do a great job of saving photos and items that look like heirlooms. We felt most crews were respectful and even offered tips on how to repair or sell stuff. If not for what went wrong below, we would have had consistently 5-STAR experiences. Where things took a turn was in the last cleanout, a large crew came to clear the rest of the home. Unlike prior crews that took great care in bagging up items and carefully disassembling furniture, this crew kept breaking perfectly good dishes, glassware, vases, books, figurines, antique sculptures, furniture, artwork, wood-framed mirrors, and more. They would toss bags across the room and I would hear entire bags of glass shatter. About half of these items were smashed to smithereens and definitely not making it to new homes. A mahogany table, several chairs, and solid wood bookshelves were also extremely damaged from how they were being moved around and stacked. A primary reason we hired Junkluggers over competitors was for their eco-friendly mission to donate and recycle items! The stuff that was left in the last round included complete china sets now smashed to bits, newly released books that were thrown in with cleaning supplies, perfectly intact art pieces now ripped, branded glassware still in original boxes, etc. Had we known that they would treat this round like this, like rotting garbage, we would have waited and made an effort to offer these items and furniture to family, friends, neighbors, charities, and local groups. It broke my heart watching nice things get destroyed, even though this stuff did not belong to my immediate family. I did get frustrated enough to ask why they kept breaking everything, and the guys just shrugged and said they were running out of time. While they met their commitment of clearing the home, I would think twice before hiring them again, as the degree to which they treat items seems to vary and did not leave me feeling confident that most of it will be donated or recycled.
