He and his partner picks up any type of scrap metal for FREE(they then sell them to a scrap yard to recycle). I left him a message and he called me back within 10 minutes. He arrived the same day(alot of others i called wanted to stop by the next or even following day). He checked out what i had and agreed to come in the next morning to break them down(take them apart) and lug the machinery out before i opened my store. He was very courteous and professional. I was surprised to see He had a pocket calendar with his appointments. Im pretty sure that he will pick up scrap metal in all the nyc boroughs. I think its very hard to find someone in this industry who is as professional and courteous as he and his partner was. Now my store basement is clean and super organized!

The next issue is that I have 2 carts one is full of electronics and other metal things and the other has pots and some small metal pieces, the guy only weighed the pots and smaller pieces from just one cart like why did you only put 4-5 things on the scale. I'm trying to explain to the guy that your worker didn't weight the other cart full of stuff and just gave me $10. Terrible experience, I'll tell you they will take advantage of you. I went through the main entrance and got told that the entrance was at the home depot side, so I had to carefully back out and make my way. All fair - I have to respect the line and other people's time. There were 3-4 vans ahead of me and I waited maybe 20-30 minutes. The process was smooth as someone who's not in the industry. 1) Go in and get your car weighted 2) Get directed to a spot where you will unload all your metal 3) Head towards the exit to get reweighed 4) Get paid As someone not in the industry, I was just given the value of the weight in light iron, because they wanted to get me out and not sort whatever metal I had. Thankfully I didn't have anything valuable like copper. Unfortunately, the gave me 5 cents a pound and valued everything as light iron. I had a 100 pounds (or so I'm told) and got paid $5 for it. Not worth the manual labor nor the gas used. The staff here are pretty accommodating and will direct you as needed. Not the most welcoming but definitely not rude either. When I called, I was told they would sort the metal I had for the appropriate prices. No such thing happened. They just want to get people in and out.

At first I thought the guy couldn't make up his mind on where I needed to pull the car over in the lot. I didn't realize I was driving on and off the weigh station. He didn't tell me what was going on so I was a bit confused. However it was a very busy morning and now I know the process . I will definitely go again if I need to drop off heavy scrap metal . I recommended this place.
