A great idea on paper but very much a business that runs in its own terms. I paid $80 upfront to…read morehave my futon mattress picked up and they drove by when I didn't pick up the call (I'd changed phone numbers, I'm just making alot of transitions--it's a moving company they could adjust). They also didn't have my correct street number and didn't say they'd call and punished me for it. Then after we rescheduled, they called me daying they might change it to another morning because it was more convenient FOR THEM. Although they didn't end up changing the day, they came at a time that was too early for my big bldg--a policy I didn't learn about until I went through this process. And they drove by again and gave me the option of the next day for an additional $50. I said fugeddubouddit. Just waiting for the rest of the population to care enough about the planet where there are better services to choose from in the future. Unfortunately, I had to dump my futon this time.

I gave the two men here the benefit of the doubt and didn't want to accuse anyone up until last week when my AirPods pinged in Long Island New York. I spoke to the owner and at first was very respectable but then became very unprofessional. I was reimbursed for the AirPods but had to fight tooth and nail. Also not at the price i bought them at, bought them for $260 and sent a receipt of it and the owner only gave me $216 because that's the current price of AirPods. Basically told I have no proof and that I was making assumptions when me nor my wife have been to New York in months and this company is around the area where my AirPods pinged. All the proof was sent to the owner for my concerns to be called accusations because both the employees denied it (big shocker) all in all it's not about the money or the AirPods it's the fact that this company has two thieves employed and has done nothing but invalidate the facts that my AirPods where on my steps the morning of and I know this for a fact because I put them there and they somehow ended up 10 miles away from this business in Long Island where neither me and my wife have been. Also these men stole while I wasn't home and my wife and new born where. Do not use this company they allow thieves into your homes. If they truly didn't believe that their employee stole they would of never reimbursed. I am highly upset and disappointed and to top it off the owner would not provide me with information to file a police report. DO NOT USE THEM

EXTREMELY unprofessional operation. Never been there before. Had a bunch of things North…read moreHempstead no longer takes. I'm disabled. They don't do pick-ups which is bad business, but okay. There was nobody to assist in removal, sift through what I had, or even direct what to do. Just one guy who could barely speak English behind the computer scale yelling from a window. I could barely hear him from all the noise of the place. Apparently you're supposed to unload everything yourself, which I physically couldn't do. Had a bit of everything: metal, appliances, electronics, wire, vehicle batteries, etc. Guy said they only take metal, and don't take electronics even though their website states they do. I even saw a bunch of non-metal items like plastic coolers and cloth chairs mixed into some junk piles, so I don't know if he was lying or incompetent. Considering the negative reviews of their other locations, it seems the awful operation is endemic to the company. If I ever need to scrap anything again, I'll be going elsewhere.
