It needed some work though to bring it to the next level with regards to maintenance. I stopped in and met Mike and his wife. They gave me a tour of the facility where I saw other high end classics that they were working on. I developed a real comfort level with Mike and decided to give him the job to help me finish the car. What a great decision! From the onset, Mike was nothing but honest and reputable. He told me from the beginning that if I wanted this car in a month, he was not the right man for the job. I told him to take all the time he needed, just do it right. Well after 4 months I received a call from Mike. The Stang was completed and ready to go home!!! When I got my bill for services I was surprised to no end! The bill was less than I budgeted for, and nothing was missed! Mike, thank you for such a fine job!! I haven't put 10 miles on it since you gave her back to me, but I am happy with what you did!!! It turns out I needed a lot of brake work, as well as a few other things to the exhaust. It wasn't cheap by any stretch but Mike was always honest on the phone and we talked through different options. His estimate seemed reasonable, and he was actually able to save some parts which reduced the cost. Who likes a large car repair bill? Not me. But, if I had to describe this place in one word it would be "honest". I never got the impression that they were upselling me anything, and they were always available to talk on the phone. I just wish they were located closer to my house.

I left with the custom shop referral and a replaced blown fuse, no charge. I'll be back because they sell the brand of tires I use (Continental) and they have a very comfortable waiting room area where you can watch old Andy Griffith reruns!

The only thing I am to blame for is not making a stink about it as soon as it happened And rather than leaving mad, staying right there and calling the owner of the to come figure this out. the mechanic who I suspected doing it, and also the guy who picked up the truck, said "that was like that when we picked it up". I was furious and unable to get anything out of my mouth other than "fuck you" , while looking him in the eyes, knowing damn well that we both know that is not the truth, and walked away. I was personally at the location it was picked up, then checked on the truck later in the afternoon to see where it was parked in the lot. later on that week, truck had gone into the shop had one part fixed, but needed another part to complete the repair so it was put back out into the lot while the part was a couple days out for delivery. The following day I returned to the lot of Southern Vermont Auto to get my clipboard for work out of my truck. Again seeing my truck for the third time undamaged. I didn't notice the damage until I saw the faces of my family members as I pulled in the driveway and walked around the passenger side. When I went to pick the truck up, I had already been informed on the amount owed so I went and paid $500 in cash for transmission cable repairs, got in my truck, entering it from the driver side and drove straight home 2 miles . I took pictures immediately after noticing all the damage which are within minutes of me getting a printed receipt and leaving the shop.. My truck was not simply dinged or ! It was consistently crushed in several inches in depth 12 inches wide and up to 24 inches wide from the front passenger wheel. Well all the way through my back tail light. Front to back. Absolutely scraped and crushed in both broke my handle, crushed my fender and crushed the back bed front to back $10,000 plus worth of damage minimum. I was so behind on my workload and so mind blown at the situation I let weeks and weeks pass not knowing how to handle the situation and also knowing I got screwed over and would never be compensated. My entire investment for the last five years completely destroyed practically in front of my eyes and they say that's how it was? Absolutely unfathomably ridiculous. So I called Rowland St. and they said if I want to wait during the service, I could have an appointment in about 2 days. A few more minutes on the phone and it was set up. Also, their new building has a pleasant waiting area and pleasant, low-key staff. Have you had a jiffy oil change where they try to add on unnecessary services that you don't need? That didn't happen here. I explained what I was after, I pointed out something else I found, and I got good advice on how to resolve it. There was no upselling. Finally, I figured the service I needed would be outrageously expensive, so I researched to get a feel for what I was in for. IMHO, the final bill reflected a reasonable price for parts which I expected to be marked up obscenely. The labor, too, seemed fair for the task. In all it was a lot of money but it seemed appropriate after my worrying beforehand. I didn't expect to be saying this, but I'll probably be back for my next auto service.
