Went to this restaurant because I didn't want steak or hamburgers (which seems to be most of the food around the hotel) and it was close to the hotel. We were quickly seated (although be careful if you sit under the AC unit, as it dripped on my colleague a few times during dinner), as there were very few people in the restaurant. The wait staff offered either Portuguese or English menus: I was thankful to not have to use Google Translate to order. The wait staff was patient as we ordered and knew enough English that ordering was not a problem, thanks to the English menus. The food took a while to get out to us, especially considering the number of others in the restaurant, but once it arrived we were very happy. The meal had a touch of heat, but it didn't hit you in the face. Be aware that the meals for 2 are not American-sized portions; not saying they are tiny, but keep that in mind as you order. My colleague and I ended up ordering the scallion pancake later because we were both still a little hungry after the meal. Overall, a very nice dining experience and a nice change from the meat-focused or carb-focused restaurants that are so common in this area. read more
