    Slicing the Beef Wellington

If you haven't done one of the cooking classes yet you're really missing out. We just did our third class and had a blast. If you're looking for a unique Christmas gift this is perfect. This class was a birthday present and we learned how to make Beef Wellington. Our instructor was awesome and made the complex dish very accessible. I will definitely be making this for an upcoming dinner. The schedule offers many different options from main course dishes to desserts and breads. There are even classes to take with your kids. We're so consumed by our phones that it's nice to put your phone down and just enjoy each other's company.

I received a gift card to sur la Table for my birthday, and I used it to book a cooking class. I learned to make macarons, and they were so delicious! There was step by step instruction and some prep had been done beforehand. One suggestion I would have is to let the participants do a little more of the work. I really enjoy baking, and it seems like the others in my class also had experience, so we could have done a few of the steps that the instructor stepped in and did for us. I am anxious to try to make them again when I have a few hours of spare time! I also browsed around the store because they have us a coupon if we shopped that day. I found a couple of items to purchase, and I could have spent way longer looking around the store.

This place is awesome and offers cooking classes as well as anything you would need as a chef or to cook something. You can also sign up for cooking classes online (perfect for a date night) and they have classes of all varieties focusing on Dim Sum, Japanese cuisine and more. Highly recommended!

*This review is for the cooking class * We were underwhelmed with the class. First, it was poorly ran. Our instructor wasn't familiar with the recipes we were cooking. There wasn't much instructing. We were disappointed as we had expectations of learning new things and being guided. If you cook at all you will probably not enjoy these class setups. Everything is already cut and prepared. In the flip side the food was good. There were way too many of us at the table set up they had and our parties were all split up and rubbing shoulders with everyone. For the price I expected more.

What a fun evening we had cooking! Chef was knowledgeable and relatable. Our meal turned out superb, we learned a few tricks and can't wait to take another class. The store has a wide variety of items. When you purchase a class you get a discount in the store and we took advantage of that deal!

I was a bit depressed when I found out William Sonoma is no longer in Penn Square so I was glad to find Sur la Table in Classen Curve. I was greeted and asked if I needed assistance as soon as I entered. There was a cooking class going on that was interesting to watched (looked like teens). Lots of great products and gadgets. I almost picked up a cool store brand pepper mill. If you need a gift for the foodie, this is your palce.

We had a BLAST at the Latin American cooking class! The food was great, the instructor, superb & an awesome date night overall! We would definitely recommend this & can't wait to book our next cooking date night!!!

Maybe someday I'll get over the closure of one of the happiest places in my life, our Williams-Sonoma. Sur la Table will help. I came in a few days before Christmas, because my husband is someone who always goes overboard. We always agree to do something else, like pay off a big ticket item or save for a trip, and just do small presents for each other. As Christmas drew near, I could see the presents to me piling up under the tree, and I knew I needed to do more. Despite it being so close to Christmas and months into a pandemic, the folks who work here had to be exhausted, they were all friendly and helped. I had several people offer to help me, and they had so many good options for someone who loves to cook and make cocktails. The bright, airy store is definitely a departure from the cramped little W-S (as I pour one out for my homie), and it definitely felt like it might make it easier to keep clean and safe for customers and staff. I'm sure I'll enjoy the experience a little bit more after a few visits, and getting used to shopping there. I also can't wait to take a cooking class here someday soon. The kitchen is beautiful and I just want to hang out in there. Such a nice touch to have such a large teaching kitchen right on site!

Class: "Date night: Rustic Italian Dinner" Menu: Tuscan rosemary chicken under a brick, Risotto with sweet peas and parmesan, Arugula and radicchio salad with balsamic vinaigrette, and Macerated strawberries with zabaglione. (Set-up) 10 total attendees for this class, including myself and my partner. I believe max capacity is 16, but that's just based off of the number of spots around the two kitchen stations. 3 staff members present--1 chef and 2 sous chefs. (Lesson) The instructor demonstrating techniques and skills such as dicing a shallot, and floated from group to group to check individuals' progress throughout the session. Sous chefs helped keep kitchen area tidy. They might be Milford School graduates: generally neither seen nor heard. (The food) Everything was simple and delicious. The risotto was creamy, cheesy, and luscious; definitely going to incorporate it into my regular meal arsenal. It required the most attention and time (about 30 minutes). The salad could be thrown together in under 5 minutes, and it does not sacrifice a symphony of flavor. The chicken was quick marinated and grilled with a weight on top to feel it flat and cooking evenly. This meal was sort of a building blocks approach to cooking; every part is easily tweakable, and a few simple changes (e.g. herbs, spices) can create totally different flavor combinations. Like any good cooking class, this one ended around a table with everyone eating. (Was is worth it though?) On the one hand, no, you don't need to pay $60 per person to learn how to cook a meal. Many cookbooks explain these same recipes, and I've heard the internet offers similar recipes for free. But you're not taking this class for the recipe, you're paying for the experience. The food is already stocked and portioned, the kitchen is clean and functional and not cluttered by children/pets. You get personalized instruction from a real life human being, and that (rightfully) costs something. Don't screw up your budget to attend, but definitely consider these classes if you (and your friends) value new experiences. I'm very glad I took Sur La Table's class, and I want to attend another.

I had a great experience at Sur La Table! We did the French brioche class. We made three different pastries, a Nutella brioche babka, brioche a tête, and vanilla bean brioche donuts. Quite the bang for your buck! All ingredients and supplies were provided and portioned out beforehand. Our instructor, Jenica, was extremely thorough, kind, and patient with the class. She was very friendly and answered all of our questions. I will definitely be coming back for another class!

The finale! Date Night: In the French Quarter. Chicken and Andouille Sausage Gumbo and Classic Shrimp and Grits. So good!

Went for a cooking class. Didn't receive a copy of the recipe and did not sample what we made.

The space can be rented out for your own private party, with catering from any of the Western Concepts (Lobby Bar, Musashi's, Sushi Neko, Coach House, etc). They have a large private room as well as a beautiful outdoor patio. They also have a beautiful working kitchen, which is home to cooking classes by local chefs, and has also been used for local cooking shows. I think a few local chefs have also filmed pilot TV shows for cooking shows here, since it's set up for that as well. The folks who work for Western Concepts are among the best in the OKC food scene. They are always trying inventive menus and will work with you to create the event of your dreams, within your budget. They recently catered an event that I hosted at Savory Spice Shop, just around the corner, and I loved the creativity that went into making the menu. Bonus of having events here: your guests have access to a huge parking lot, nice restrooms and a beautiful new entry hall. With Lobby Bar nearby, they can enjoy a drink in the bar before of after.
