I've had several lovely experiences with On A Whim, and only just realized I'd never reviewed them. First of all, I've received some of my favorite gifts ever from here, including some lovely entertaining plates from their Kate Spade line, and more recently, Milkbarn baby gifts and my favorite Jellycat stuffed animals for baby June, from Uncle Ferris. But I've also enjoyed shopping here as a customer, but almost exclusively for gifts - wedding, hostess, and special birthday gifts. From a wonderful selection of beautiful dishes and linens, to all manner of candles and home decor, this is my go-to stop when I know I need to take a gift but I have no idea what to take! I know that sounds nebulous, but it's true! Bookmark this as a go-to gift store. When in doubt, On A Whim. I've never really shopped their clothing, but perhaps that is because I always come here when I'm looking for something special for other people! I think I may need to start coming here to treat myself to something special. read more

Honestly, I have no complaints about On a Whim. I don't always get up to Classen Curve, but this place is now one of my faves. While there are all the trinkets, home goods, and fashionables a girl could need, my heart is with the stationery and entertaining items. After attending an awesome Classen Curve event, I found myself back at On a Whim to pick up a kate spade Bowl to go with my appetizer plates Not only did the manager and team remember me from the event, but my name too -- and it's not an easy one! Oh, and did I mention I had my 2-year-old with me? He listens pretty well, so I wasn't worried about him knocking something over, or breaking an item mama would have to buy. The manager was a complete peach to my boy, even asking him if she could give him some sample cookies they had. So sweet! The staff here is super friendly, and there are great finds! read more

Darling boutique located in classen curve. If you like Mackenzie Childs - visit this store it will NOT disappoint! IF they seem low on stock follow their social media pages they update them constantly and helps keep you in the know of sales, etc. They have everything from baby/jewelry/shoes/home accessories and more! If you are wanting a nice gift for someone come visit! I used to not like to go in here as the employees weren't that friendly but I think they've revamped things and the employees are always super nice and friendly.. Second time in today over past few weeks and the guy who works on the home side could not be more disinterested and/or irritated when asked a question about an item. Looked at an time made by Nambe and he did not know the type of wood and seemed perplexed we asked. Found same item on Amazon for $20 cheaper and zero attitude with my purchase. read more

I have visited this store off and on since its opening, hoping that, as time went by, the customer service would get better. It hasn't. I visited today and was ignored the entire time I was in the store. I understand it's a busy time of the year but I saw employees talking to one another and milling around. My experience was such a turnoff that I left and I definitely don't think I will return (and it's a shame because On A Whim has really cute clothing and home decor). read more

I love On a Whim. Yes, it's expensive and that's OK. I ordered Mackenzie-Childs sinks, tiles and knobs for some bathrooms a couple of years ago and they were perfectly professional and on time with delivery. I've also called for some custom decorative items and they did their best to track down the makers and find exactly what I needed. I'm currently addicted to their very fancy Lafco candle line. The fragrance selection is out of control and each candle is in a beautiful, heavy art glass container. So a great gift as well. Clothing I would keep for a sale - which they have frequently. You can certainly find tons of special gifts at On a Whim, especially gifts for yourself. It's fun, girly, pretty and I love this store! read more

People who know me will be shocked that I am actually saying something negative...so not me, but I was so amazed by the lack of customer service I feel that it would be a disservice for the owner/manager not be aware of the lack of help at this darling store. I was in the store on Classen Curve during the Christmas season...not one person asked to help me. I chalked it up to the Christmas rush, although they really were not that busy at the time I was there. Fast forward to a dreary, February, Saturday morning...not more than 3 shoppers in the store...appeared to have 4 sales clerks...all talking to each other...completely ignoring the shoppers. I knew EXACTLY what I wanted...had cash in my pocket...and after a few walks around the MacKenzie-Childs section and absolutely no recognition I decided to leave. I came home, placed my order on line with MacKenzie-Childs directly and will have my items in a few days. I shop here often, in fact almost every piece of Mackenzie-Child's I own comes from this store. The sales staff is helpful without being pushy. They are quick to hold items behind the register so you can continue shopping with free hands. Besides their amazing collection of MC items they also carry unique jewelry lines, fabulous baby gifts and the Le Cadeaux line of outdoor serve-ware. The store is always clean and well stocked. Plenty of staff to help you and great sales makes this store one of my favorites. read more

Brown people beware!!! I have been wanting to write this review for a while. I stopped by this store to look around while I was waiting to meet my parents for dinner. This place has a lot of cool stuff so I thought I would kill some time and look around. I first noticed that I was being watched and followed around the store mins after I walked in. I was the only Afro American in the store and there were 2 other Caucasian women also shopping. Every time I looked up one of the employees was watching me and another was actually following me around the store a few feet away from me. They were so distracted by me that one of the other ladies shopping had to walk up to the counter to ask for help. I was so uncomfortable that I just said screw it I will just wait in my car for my parents to arrive and after being treated like that I wouldn't waste my money their anyway. To be treated like a criminal just because of the color of my skin is disgusting and I would never recommend anyone I know to shop there. And they will never see me again. read more

I always stop this store when I come to OKC because I love the children store nearby there. They have cute stuff but it is pricey. I do love browsing their sale items. Today, I found the Yoan Samra flip flops priced 70%off $55. It's a steal! I got them and realized that I was charged 70% off $66. Not a big deal, but thought I'd call them to let them know and see what they'd do. I spoke with a guy who was happily to return the small difference to my card. Then, a minute after my call, I received a call from the store by the name Hannah. She said she was the girl who rang me up. She said I purchased the rope flip flop and the price is $66; he $55 is for the patent flip flop. I told her that my box said it's the rope flip flop for $55. She went on and on and said well, it's just $3.80 difference and my inventory is now off. It's $66! So, I told her I'd be happy to take a picture of the tag and send it to her and she said yes send it to me. So, I did and she said well I'm going to ring it off another inventory to offset it. In all honesty, it's only a few dollars difference. It wasn't a big deal but I feel like she made it a big deal because she called me back after another associate fix the mistake. I'm trying to make a point to her that I'm the customer and if it's not a big deal, why should I, the customer swallow the mistake they made on their inventory. On top of it, she made me feel as if I'm lying to her by swapping the flip flops with another box, which wasn't the case. The label on the box clearly says the item I have purchased. You think she would speak to me nicely throughout this process, but unfortunately not. I am very disappointed at the customer service of this place. As a business owner, I would not be happy to know my employee treats my customer that way. read more

Every time I've been in this store, I leave sad because the staff is so incredibly rude! They look you up and down, they don't smile-that's no way to run a retail business. I was glad to see it wasn't just me and other reviewers are in agreement. I was given a gift card to this store and absolutely dreaded going in to use it. This store has the cutest clothes, kitchen decor, purses, etc. but I can't stand going in there because of the unfriendly stuck up staff. It reminds me of when I go into Neiman's and they have this 'too good to help you attitude' when in reality they are working at the store I'M shopping at.. I've gone into On A Whim a couple of times, never purchased anything though for this very reason. Also, it's overpriced. Their Kendra Scott is $5 more expensive than it is everywhere else. I purchased a $40 gold necklace, within 24 hours the gold was tarnishing. I called the store, explained the situation to 3 different, very rude employees that blamed me for getting it wet. I have shopped here for years- ever since the store was on Western. Unfortunately, the service associates have always been rude but especially so in the last 2-3 years. I wish management and/or ownership would address this issue, although they may be part of the problem as well. This is a retail store. Your top priority should be helping the customers and to not judge on race, physical appearance or financial standing- which is what I believe this store does. If there was another place to shop locally that had as great of merchandise as this store, I would. That's the only positive they have. read more

Terrible customer service..My sister-in-law comes in town once a year and loves to purchase their clothes..We arrived at the store this morning at 10:30 and due to the weather (I'm assuming) they weren't open..So, we ran to Starbucks to give them some more time to see if they might open..At 11:35 we pulled back up and I saw a lady in the store. I walked up to the door and she informed me that they wouldn't open until 12. I asked if we could just come in and look. I was told NO!!! I HOPE YOU WERE THE OWNER BECAUSE THAT IS TABOO IN RETAIL TO BLOW CUSTOMERS OFF IN THAT WAY..SHAME ON YOU~~YOU LOST A BIG SALE IN US TODAY..EPIC FAIL ON A WHIM!!!! Yelpers beware! It takes a lot for me to write a yelp review. But the lazy people at On a Whim deserve this one! I go into this store frequently because they really do carry some great clothes. Thus, the one star. However, on service alone I would give them zero stars. I literally just walked around the store for 20 minutes while they sales associates sat around on couches. I handled $235 pieces of glassware and picked out shoes without being asked if I needed help. Finally one girl says "do you need help? We're all just sitting around". Which at this point I couldn't contain my frustration and only muttered "I noticed". Don't go in this store unless you are wearing designer clothes, because these lazy Nichols Hills women can't even muster a "hello" when you go in to their store. We even witnessed them offer water to another customer. Not us! I want to apply for a job there! You just sit around and chat! Every time I leave this store I question why they are deserving of my money. I'll buy my Michael Kors elsewhere. read more
