Would NOT recommend United Alarm - extremely poor experience…read more Purchased a home in October 2017 that came with a previously installed United Alarm system and I decided to maintain the service with them by signing up for an initial one-year service contract. This was to maintain the same hardware, house signage, etc. Note: all/most of my issues with United Alarm may have been avoided if I had purchased a new system as this inherited one was out of warranty and thus all repairs/service costs were not covered and led to out-of-pocket expenses. Any time I had an issue with it I received a shrug of the shoulders and was told it was out of warranty so there was nothing they could do unless I paid more. The system never worked correctly. We had multiple issues with the window sensors and the main hub sending signal to United Alarm (sometimes the signal was not coming through so even if the alarm went off the monitoring team would never know it - not safe and pointless for a monitoring system). The alarm would randomly go off and despite several service calls (a fee of $100 each time unless we agreed to an additional year on the contract) they never seemed able to fix it. Of the 30 months we had the service it may have worked properly for six of them. The final straw was when I booked a service call in February 2020 (after waiting two weeks for them to call me back to book) at a cost of $100. The told me they couldn't fix the current issue and that the solution may be found if I buy either a new part for $315 or sign up for a three-year contract. There was no guarantee this would solve the issue, there was no refund on the $100 service fee even though they couldn't fix it. There was zero chance I was signing up for a three-year term on a system that had no guarantees it would even work. I called in to cancel the month-to-month contract since I now had a system that did not work at all and was told I would still be billed for April because of their thirty-days cancellation policy. Horrible customer service from the reps on the phone, however the tech in person was two-weeks in to the job and very professional about the situation.

When the Contract was up, I called to cancel my service with United and switched over to ADT who set up my system and boxed the panel from United - Fast forward two months, I called United to ask if they wanted their Panel back as they never told me that they needed the equipment back as it was collecting dust in my garage, they said yes and that someone would call me for pick up. Fast forward another 2 months and no calls from United so I call back, they confirmed a pick up and came an got the Panel. Now 1 month later I receive an invoice for $250 saying that i have to buy the motion detectors that they never uninstalled out of my home! So i advised them to come take the equipment out and guess what, that's a $95 charge! If I hadn't been proactive and called them regarding their equipment I would never have been charged! but now 6 months after I've cancelled my service you're trying to get more money out of me? Worst company ever I will make sure I tell everyone I know not to deal with United.

I originally had just requested a quote for a Tesla charger install. I know they were certified with Tesla and they came highly recommended from a friend and they also are highly rated on other review sites so I thought it was worth a shot. The lady on the phone was extremely helpful and also very nice! Booking was convenient and easy. I had Shane come out to give the quote he was super nice and extremely knowledgeable about what I needed and didn't need. He explained I wasn't able to get the largest charger Tesla has unless I was willing to spend more money on doing a whole bunch of work to get more power to my house. I think for me what I appreciated the most is his questions of what my expectations were of charging my car and also my long term goals of my house. This was important for me because I have a 5 year goal to move to a bigger more forever home and he explained to me that putting a bunch of money into getting more power might not be the best investment of my money. I did receive a few other quotes but after dealing with Shane I felt most comfortable with him and 247 Electric and felt he wanted to help and offered the best suggestions and seemed like he knew the most about how and what actually had to be done. I booked him in and dealing with there office was just as easy as the first time and they had all my information and knew exactly how long it was going to take. Shane had suggested not to take the day off to watch them work so I let them in and left for most of the day. Work was done exactly as promised and no surprises at the end. I also had the inspector come out to inspect the work which he didn't seemed to concerned with anything and was in and out in no time. The day of the actual work I did come home before they were done. Shane had another guy with him who was also friendly. I asked him about lights in my kitchen and he suggested some ideas and different things I could do. I decided on Pot lights, which they were also able to do right while they were there. I was beyond amazed with the lights and what it did to my kitchen. I know the guys seemed more excited about the car but I was just blown away with how easy they made it seem to put lights were I thought was not possible! The whole experience was just awesome! Great guys, great company. I felt the price was reasonable for all the work that was done. I will definitely be referring them to my friends and family. I'm also excited to be the first one to give them a review on yelp! Great job Shane thanks again so much for all your hard work.

He also did a load calculation as part of the site inspection which the city inspector needed to see as part of the permit process so was thankful for his foresigh! The interior work was done ahead of the delivery and you would never know they ran anything new it was that well done. The day our hot tub arrived, it was a very quick connection and he did a great job to hide the cable as best he could given the location of the tub on the pad and the options for drilling into the tub to run the wire. Overall, we are extremely happy with the service and the quote was very fair based on the other quotes we got.
