Tomorrow if you go to Star Auto expect to pay $82 plus taxes and fees per a sign posted in their service department. Yesterday (Sept, 2023) the cost of tire rotation at Star Auto was $19. Today I had my tires rotated at Star Auto at a cost of $32.55. Tomorrow I will be heading to Pep Boys where there is no charge. Yesterday (Sept 2023) my wife had a synthetic oil change at Star Auto for $89.95. Today (July, 2024) my wife had a synthetic oil change for $78.68 including taxes at Pep Boys. He referenced the $50k+ price multiple times, suggesting I hadn't even looked at the MSRP or considered what I can afford. He walked away "for a few minutes" while I looked around the car. I stood there waiting for him to return. He was super busy chatting with his colleague, walking through the showroom to step outside and check the weather, then staring at his computer in his office. After 10-15 minutes, I left. No card, no attempt to get contact information. I guess I should have lied when I set expectations early that I wasn't buying that day. I was also courteous enough to show up in the middle of a weekday afternoon (the place was empty), but Jim didn't want to put forth any effort that might not pan out, at the risk (now, a certainty) that he doesn't get a sale.
