Feeding the animals was a lot of fun and farm has potential but it definitely needs some TLC.

Visited this local farm this week after seeing the sign. The people at the store, kind of a stretch to call it a store, were pleasant enough, but the animals appeared to be in bad shape. The cows were standing in a small pen, deep in manure. Sheep needing to be sheared, coats filthy. Water troughs dirty, generally looked in disarray. Felt sorry for these "rescue" animals. Hoping they will find better homes when this place goes out of business read more

My 8 year old son and I went to the farm on a Saturday morning and here's what we enjoyed: a 10:30 hayride and tour of a real life working dairy farm. The hayride was shaded and just the right length to see the vast property, learn about the farm, and get education about dairy. my son loved it. We then enjoyed milk from the farm at the milk bar with delicious freeze dried flavors! what a great, fun idea. We loved the petting zoo with lively goats, sheep, baby cows, pigs, ducks, chickens, tortoises, donkeys and probably more! We then got homemade ice cream. We paid extra and bottlefed the baby calf. So I decided to take a tour with my family on this Farm , it's a local dairy farm in Mesa with lots of goats and chicken wondering around and very friendly, my grandchildren picked up the Chickens and Rooster and held them . The animals are hand fed and they are rescue animals, which include goats, sheep, miniature donkey, chickens, horses, turtles, bunnies, potbelly pigs and whoever else needs a home at the time. let's not forget the Cows because there are so many and it's a must see where the milk on your morning cereal originates...before it ends up in the grocery cooler! Enjoy a leisurely and informative ride around the dairy on our tractor pulled hayride,they will answer all your questions and then some and I have to say it was an educational experience for me . Don't forget to stop by the store and enjoy some of their famous Udder Delights Ice Cream while the kids play in the courtyard! You can also purchase their milk, eggs, cheese . THANK YOU!!! I have drafted this review reportedly and have stopped short from submitting it because I feel my words could never truly express the gratitude I feel for this wonderful farm. On August 20th, the love of my life proposed to me. Part of my proposal consisted of little surprises of random things I've always wanted to do. It sounds a bit odd but I have always loved miniature donkeys, though I had never seen one up close. Knowing this, my fiancé looked all over for someone who owned one. Lo and behold, this farm (which happens to be behind our house) had what he was looking for--a mini donkey named Picante. Long story short, I was taken here and surprised with my own private petting zoo! Here's where I get emotional. The farmer, Jason, went above and beyond for us and I am still so touched by his generosity. When my fiancé explained to him his plan to propose, Jason said he would do anything for love and opened his farm to us on his day off. He let us stay as long as we wished and we had a great experience. The farm was awesome and I cannot wait to go on a Thursday night for the market. As I stated before, words cannot possibly express how much we appreciate Jason. He even continued correspondence with my fiancé to congratulate us and give us his blessing. Made the (long) drive out to the farm for their Thursday Market [4:30pm-7:30pm] It was definitely worth it! My two year old loved seeing all of the cows, the donkey, sheep (baby ones too), chickens etc. Even more he loved seeing the different tractors parked around the farm. Little boys and their tractors. Next week they are doing 'Cantaloupe Bowling' for the kiddos! For me, I really enjoyed the market. I only shopped for vegetables but I met a really nice man named Steve. Pretty sure he is running the show. Everyone who works the farm is incredibly kind and welcoming. I got a TON of multi-colored carrots, beets, squash, unique tomatoes, organic peaches, organic apples, celery.... all for less than $30. All in all, the experience combined with the great local veggies will keep me coming back each week. read more

Super Farm Market is as good as it gets for East Valley farmers markets, if not the entire valley. Every Thursday evening from 4:30-7:30 pm all year round, the market is on. There's fresh, local produce, artisan breads and pastas, candies, cookies, cakes, salas, jams, honey, dog treats, vegan snacks, grass fed beef, and more. Not to mention the farm sells farm fresh, artisan cheeses, butters, milk, ice cream, yogurt, and eggs. And Udder Delights is there with desserts and ice cream. It's by far the most convenient farmer's market as it's indoor year round. And you go to each vendor and your charges are written on a ticket, so you pay once at the end (like a grocery) with cash or credit. You can also visit Mooster's Mootique, the farm's gift shop, for all sorts of cute things for kids and adults alike. The market also has a free petting zoo with sheep, goats and baby calves to keep the little ones entertained. They usually do horse rides and hay rides during the market as well, so it's a great chance to see the farm if you haven't already. As good as it gets!! I found this little gem by purchasing a Groupon for some of their farm fresh products. I have come back numerous times now and I refuse to buy dairy or eggs anywhere else. The eggs are fabulous. The yolk is a beautiful bright orange with a flavor that those mass produced grocery store eggs could not even come close to matching. The farmers cheese is made fresh and comes in great flavors. The garlic & pepper and chipotle are my favorites. The salsa and hummus are also quite tasty. I buy whey for my dogs it is so good for them, it is only $1.00 and they love it! There is a little area behind the store where you can pet the animals. Support this farm and provide your family with farm fresh food and the education about where food actually should come from... read more

This was the highlight of my Phoenix trip!! About $9 each for a tour. They have tours 10am, 12pm and 2pm. We took the 10am one and only saw another family on the tour. Good customer service. We were on the hay tractor ride around the farm for about 25 minutes. It was so cool to see so many cows and learn more about the milking process. I'm glad the farm treats the cows in a humane way. We also got to feed the goats and drank a fresh cup of milk. We climbed on the tractors and took so many pictures of barn scenery. There's a cute desert garden too. I went with my husband (no kids) and it was a great experience! Get yourself to this farm! read more

This place is just a lot of fun. I had a Groupon for a tour and two food pickups, and Jason was very accommodating about my schedule, their schedule, and the Groupon expiry all being misaligned. The tour was a hayride through the dairy farm where we learned a lot about their practices and how they care for the cows. Afterward, we fed some animals in the petting zoo, held a chicken, and visited the Milk Bar. Everybody there was super friendly and knowledgeable. The food pickup consisted of milk, butter, ice cream and a surprise item (chicken salad the first time, a sorbet the second time). It's all very delicious and I like knowing I'm spending my money on a local business. The farm is pretty far from me, so I don't know if I'll make it back regularly. But whenever I am in that area I'll definitely stop by for some ice cream and to pet a goat. read more

If only every dairy farm in the world could be as wonderful, clean, and humane as the Super Farm. As soon as we pulled up, I knew this was a different kind of dairy farm. The grounds were exceptionally clean for a farm, and it smelled, but not in that "omg this is so offensive I need a gas mask" type of way. We actually came here twice. The first time was on a Monday because we were under the assumption that they were open, and they weren't. I tweeted my disappointment and was immediately offered an apology along with a free tour. I was really impressed with the intense desire to please everyone that they clearly have here. We came back later in the week, but we did pay for our tour. I don't mind supporting wonderful places like this with my hard earned dollars. The tour lasted about an hour and consisted of a introduction to the farm along with lots of great information about their animals and the way they are taken care of. Next we visited the "petting zoo" type animals, goats, donkey, horse, goose, rabbit, lamb. the good stuff. The animals were all clean and seemed very happy. After that we got to go on a hayride around the facilities where we learned what each enclosure was for. After the tour we stopped in their cute little boutique that is filled with all sorts of great things from novelties, to clothing, to yummy sodas and homemade dairy products. I was also very impressed with how well our tour guide handled the hordes of children and their pushy parents. I was Super Impressed with Super Farm and hope that everyone gets a chance to tour sometime. read more

I honestly just got home from visiting Super Farm! I headed out their way because I wanted to try their milk - we are trying to spend our $$ on local businesses. It was great to actually speak to the people who raise the cows and see the cows with my own eyes! We ended up staying for about two hours! Everyone was so friendly. We bought our gallon of milk ($3.49) and some butter ($4.99) and then stayed for lunch. Chef Matt - I hope I didn't forget his name!- introduced himself while we were buying milk and we decided to stay for lunch . The kids split a kid's cheeseburger and I had the chicken salad - sandwich. It was fantastic!! After lunch we visited the baby cows, the goats, and then stopped and had a big glass of flavored milk ($1 each - grape for my 2 yr old daughter and chocolate for my 4 yr old son). Everyone is so nice here - my children LOVED it and did not want to leave. Worth the 40-ish minute drive out there. (We live in South Phoenix) read more

We arrived at the Superstition Farm for our field trip. Casey, the owner, motioned for my son to take a closer look at the free range animals taking their siesta around noon. The goose, almost as big as my son, was staring him down. I warned him that geese can be mean. I shared a story when I was once chased by an African goose while jogging. He then focused on the ducklings and chicks instead, smart boy. Our group of mommies and kiddos were finally complete to take the farm hay ride tour. Then, car loads of Red Hat Women started pouring into the little farm store. We all looked at each other and wondered if they were part of our tour, too. My cutie pie overheard our conversation and yelled out "the Red 'Hot' Women"! I'm sure the old ladies must have been "hot" at one time, but they sure were cute! Casey talked about the multi-generational farm and how they still run it as a family. We now know more about dairy cows than we know what to do with. There is also a petting zoo. The crazy ass donkey startled us with its braying. I want one of those little angora sweater bunny. I don't know what you call it, but it's soft and furry just like my angora sweater. Finally, it was fun to shop for farm honey butter, herbed ricotta cheese and a couple of cups of home made ice cream! Little cutie pie went nuts over the novelty items inside the farm store. I hate to give less than excellent reviews and the Super Farm Market deserves 5 stars for their fresh produce at fair prices. Love it! On the flip side, some of the vendors are most definitely price gouging. Especially the honey vendor. Tonight a woman brought $20 for what she usually buys from him and learned tonight that he raised his prices. His price for a jar of Peach Butter is $8.50 and tonight apparently some of his $8.50 products went up to $10. I offered to pay the difference for her as he obviously wasn't going to back down for her even though she was a loyal customer. I don't know if the prices are a reflection of being located in Gilbert where it is assumed people are well off or not but I can't go back to any farmers market in Gilbert until the price gouging ends. Can I afford it? Maybe - but I won't pay someone for their lack of integrity. read more

My kids and I took advantage of the $5 special today. We got a hayride, feeding the rescue animals at the petting zoo and some of the awesome ice cream. It was great to check out a local business and keep the kiddies occupied for a little over an hour. My kids were in awe of the cows and really enjoyed the time spent there. Farmer Jason was funny on the hayride and my kids loved that. I've been thinking about doing their dairy food csa, and I think this solidified the deal for me. Great place! read more

I have lived in 4 different states and have been to a million different farmer's market. This is not only the best in the valley but, my absolute favorite of all! Amazingly it is indoors and has air conditioning. It is large enough where I can get a weeks plus worth of food without being overwhelming. SFM had the genius idea to have each vendor mark your shopping list and you pay at the end in the store. So convenient to use a CC and not have cash. The choice of vendors is superb. It is about food and not weighted down with tons of crafts and what not. My family and I make a family night out of SFM. My 2 yo son loves all the attention he gets from the staff and vendors, is delighted by farm and always devours his meal from SuperTruck. Can't forget dessert from Udder Delights! What a great day! We started out in the classroom (have you ever seen a size of a cow's aspirin?!) and moved on to the milk bar. The milk was great and there were lots to choose from. We tried strawberry, raspberry and chocolate - yum! The hay ride was informative and we got to see over 1000 cows and one of them was even giving birth! Yeeck, hope she is ok now. After feeding the animals at the Petting Zoo we got to try ice cream and check out the store. The people at the register were nice and the farm is well organized. My 2.5 year old son and i signed up for a mommy and me class in october. It was really great, the group size was small enough to hear/see everything. He really liked feeding the animals in the petting zoo area. I'll admit, I had a good time catching chickens. They are really hands on at the farm and it's nice to see such transparency with regard to local food production. The employees were all great and helpful. Prices from most vendors were reasonable. There were a few things that were pricey, but that just means I didn't buy it. The actual staff (and not the vendors) didn't see to mind that I asked so many questions since it was my first time visiting. Their system for buying things was very efficient, especially if you use a card. I loved the sales some of the vendors had going on! I only had a few gripes. Their burgers from their truck were $8, not saying it was not delicious or anything, but I wish it was priced a little lower so I could order other food. I ended up sharing it with my friend that I took with so we didn't have to spend almost $20 on two burgers. I also bought some ice cream out of the freezer. I had a hard time choosing which one because of the flavor options, and because some of it looked freezer burned. The one that I picked was the "Superstition Farm," which the employee said was the best one. It tasted like it had thawed and been refrozen a few times. This family is truly amazing. What their dairy does for community is truly a gift. The tours, teaching, petty animals, feeding them, hayrides, School field trips and so much more. Now with covid it is much harder for farmers and we need them. Milk, butter, cheese, so much. There here to help us get these items to our homes. Don't forget them. They need us as much as we need them. If you even get the chance to meet this amazing family of Farmers, it will be a blessing. They own an amazing Ice Cream store in Gilbert too, Udder Delights. I took the kids here one random weekday for their petting zoo and had a blast! They're a dairy farm (be prepared to be breathing in that fresh country air!) and do tours at 10am and 12noon which would be cool to check the place out but maybe another day...they had a good selection of animals-(all baby animals) horses, cows, sheep, goats, chickens, bunnies, and they actually took the small ones out of their cages so the kids could actually hold and pet them. Perks... They have horseback riding lessons for kids (there was a class going on while we were there so we were able to watch a little). They have AMAZING, fresh cheese curds (I'm from WI so this is HUGE!!) which I snagged a couple different flavors-the jalepeno is amazing and barely lasted the car ride home! They make their own ice cream from their own milk and have a freezer full of different AMAZING flavors!!! We tried three different kinds and all were delicious! The animals were surprisingly clean and appeared to be well taken care of. They were filming a Chick-fil-a commercial the day we went so we got pictures with the Chick-fil-a cow mascot! Some downsides... They're kind of a far drive even from Chandler (they're east of Sossoman and Elliot) but after going, I'd say it's worth it! Petting Zoo hours are a little weird given that naptime usually falls right in the middle of the day... Tuesday-Friday-12:00-3:00pm, Saturdays-1:00pm-3:00pm, Sundays- 10:00am-3:00pm... ~~~~~ I just checked out their website and they're doing a MOO-ey Christmas three Friday nights in December from 5-10pm (Santa's gonna be there!!) for $5 which includes face painting, petting zoo, night time hayride, and s'mores!! We went to their Mooey Christmas and this is our review: - The price of admission in my mind is steep. It is $8 and that gets you access to the petting zoo and a hay ride, other than that you have to pay extra for everything. There is also no children's price vs. adult price. If it were cheaper to get in I probably would have given it 5 stars. - Petting zoo is a bit of a let down as the goats are all in a pen and you can feed them only, you can't really pet them. They did have a bunny and a chicken to pet. - The food was excellent, we had the desserts and made s'mores and they were all fantastic! The hot chocolate was also amazing!! - I also wish it opened before 5, as it gets dark quickly and it would have been nice to see more of the scenery in the daylight. - My daughter loved it and we had fun overall! read more

I loved visiting this quaint farm today. I met two of my friend and their little tots here. While I was waiting for them in the store, I was warmly greeted. She even was kind enough to answer all my questions about the services offered and the bunnies on the store. When my friends came, we had a great time feeding the goats, donkey, and the sheep. Throughout our stay, the staff would come and check on us, telling us about the animals and answered questions. The kids loved it there. I loved it there, being a big animal fan myself. These people go out of their way to be friendly. They clearly enjoy their work. read more

The first time I went to Superstition Farm was with a local meetup group. We did the tour and had a lot of fun holding the chickens and feeding the animals. I also got a punch card for a free scoop of ice cream every week of my pregnancy (I was 14 weeks pregnant) from Udder Delights (DELICIOUS!). It was a great experience, so I recommended it to a meetup group that I'm in from north phoenix. The ladies all drove down here when it was cooler (about 4 days after I had my youngest daughter) and we went again! I was just there yesterday for the Grand Opening of the farmers market, and I have to say... It's about a 25 minute drive, but I'm willing to make it a few Thursdays per month, because it was great. My daughter bought a bottle to feed the calfs, we fed the animals at the petting farm, ran around the bales of hay and had a blast playing with all the trinkets in the store. I hope a lot of the vendors stay consistently, because it was just awesome. read more

I took my daughters (4 and almost 2) here over spring break. We had a great time! They were able to feed/pet goats, a donkey, a sheep, baby ducks, bunnies and cows! We went on the hayride tour, which was a perfect amount of time for the kids. My girls each got an ice cream at the end. I was excited to try some local raw milk. I drove up when no one was around and they were closed. That's not my issue. My issue was watching two of the farm hands taking a couple calves, ripping them through the fence and literally throwing them in the back of their cart and then they very aggressively drove off and I watched the poor calves stumble and fall all over the place. Will not be giving this place my money and you shouldn't either. read more

Worst place ever! Would never go back. After a tour with our preschool the other week. I was disappointed. Animals seemed unclean, completly overweight, unkept. The donkey "picante" was unable to stand up has over grown hooves and seemed very extremely over weight for a"30"year old donkey. The manager forcefully grabbed and pulled back the goats who were eating from the kids hands and as well as parents in the tour. Next in tour included a hay tour which was informative and decent. We were happy to see the cows and how they live about there lives on the farm. The supposed manager giving us the tour seemed to lack enthusiasm as well as information. I asked a question about the baby cows where they go, cause there seemed to be none with their mothers and I got an answer about how much they are feed. As soon as we got off the haytour. We were guided to the milk bar. Many flavors to choose from but it was all jell-o mixes. Something I could of bought at the store and done myself. This is fraud. The manager "Michelle" did not wash or sanitize her hand before serving milk to my children. I'm not a germaphobe but after petting animals and riding the hay tour I would of expected at least a wet wipe to the hands. I had to use the restroom but after a first glimpse I decided to hold it in. Toilet paper thrown everywhere, soap dispensers empty, paper towels also all over the place. Overall tour was not worth the money and quite pricey for what was expected. read more

I'm sorry to only leave 3 stars, but the tour was less than informational and it was $43 for a family of 4. I have lived in the Valley for almost 30 years. I have seen many, many dairy farms move away from the developing suburbs. Truthfully, it is sad. Yes, I wouldn't want to live across the street from one, but it brings a sense of rural-ness to the ever growing Valley of the Sun. But I digress, we have taken this same tour 8 years ago and it has changed, not for the better. Our "tour guide" couldn't answer basic questions and didn't really seem to be knowledgeable about the workings of the farm. At one point, she was telling the group about colostrum from the female cows, but wasn't able to provide answers to follow up questions. Then, I wasn't even sure she knew what colostrum is. Anyway, my oldest didn't get much from the tour and my youngest was only interested in petting and feeding the animals. The milk bar was ok. The milk was cold, but they mix flavors of jell-o or pudding into the milk. I can do that at home. My milk was actually more of a pudding consistency. The ice cream was fine. It was ice cream. It is made off property. Overall, our kids enjoyed it, but for $43 for about 60 minutes, I was disappointed. Plus, the last time we went they had a Moo-niversity class that was more informational. Maybe this was during a field trip? Or they have stopped this part of the tour. Again, I'm sorry to leave 3 stars, but it wasn't worth it. read more

I've never been to a dairy farm, and saw SuperFarm listed as one of the best things to do in Mesa on Tripadvisor, so my friend and I ventured here to check it out. The cows here seemed pretty well taken care of, and were fed a mixture of hay and corn, as opposed to the brown grain/feed you usually see cows eat on TV. The petting zoo had lots of adorable animals, such as an inquisitive spotted goat, 2 calves, a long haired fuzzy bunny, various chickens, laid back sheep, and a slightly grumpy donkey (I don't know its real name, but I dubbed it Eeyore). The store here has various dairy products such as ice cream, flavored and unflavored butters, buttermilk, flavored cheese, as well as eggs, and desserts such as chocolate dipped macaroons. They have a very cute, albeit dusty, selection of kid's toys and various T shirts with a farm theme. They have a farmer's market here on Thursdays, which is a good option for those looking for local produce that live in Mesa. Definitely a cool place to go if you're looking for a nice outdoors activity, but don't want to drive too far from the Phoenix area. read more
