Maintenance guy is super friendly, sweet and helpful. He is the least appreciated person by the owner of the property. 3. Relatively safe, although I have heard gun shots followed by police cars before. 4. Neighbors keep to themselves. 5. Water cost is included for now. 6. Comes with adorable stray cats, most neighbors feed them, while the landlord expressed hatred toward these defenseless souls. Con: 1. House feels weathered. I had leaky window and faucet when I first moved in. The walls are thin, there is little privacy even though this is a town house. The floor was so dirty that after 6 months of living here and moping the floor everyday, the water still comes out black. The carpet is old with stains everywhere. 2. No pet policy, nothing at all, not even if you want to look after your friend's hamster for a few days. 3. Sketchy neighbors. The place asks everyone to pay $25 for background check, but I doubt they do the checks, because even the rats living in my attic can tell some of them were drug dealers. 4. Condescending owner who is always on the defense when talking to you. She always assumes her tenants are either retarded or taking advantages of her. 5. I kept reporting water leakage in my apartment and the only time she sent someone to fix it was when they realized their water bill was off the roof. Property owner doesn't even bother to hire a professional when the water pipe broke, the poor maintenance guy had to fix it by himself. Or they stopped the water on purpose to keep the water bill down, who knows, the owner is not that trust worthy. 6. No recycle bin, stray cats come feast in the dumpster all the time. Overall: It is decent place for a temporary stay if you want to save money. Semi-family friendly, not pets friendly (not sure if I trust people who cannot love animals), not environmental friendly. You are stuck with rats as pets when you move in and free alarm clocks when neighbors wake up at 4 or 5 AM for work, and you'll never be late for work. It is very hard to find apartment in this area. I suggest you look at Hickory. I have also noticed it is almost impossible to get a good deal on Internet in Lenoir. If you work in Lenoir, the drive from Hickory is still totally worth it.

It appears that those other folks were working with their listing agent from another firm and never dealt directly with Holly. She is far nicer than we would be if someone disparaged our reputation without full knowledge of all the facts, we would bring a defamation lawsuit.

Many parts of the sell/buy process went as you'd expect. There were two specific aspects that were just not right. The first was when she allowed her clients to schedule an inspection (and insisted because they were going out of town they it be honored) before the due diligence money was received. The large DD commitment was the sole reason her client's offer was accepted. It became a complete cluster for our agent to finally secure a check from the buyers literally as the inspection was taking place. That's contractually wrong! The second was upon closing. Her clients were moving into the property before the deed was recorded with Avery County, who can be notoriously slow. When she gave them the keys, presumably at signing, she either didn't inform them to wait until confirmation of the deed being recorded (incompetence), gave them keys and said, "congratulations" without advising them to wait until recording (incompetence or lazy) or possibly gave them the keys with a wink advising the deed would surely be recorded on signing day (not always the case in Avery - corrupt/legally wrong). Our agent had to contact her to get her clients out of the property until the deed is recorded. Until that time, we continued to be liable for anything that might happen on or to the property. Along the way of the deal, they were given the opportunity to have a buyer possession before closing addendum. They declined. From my experience on the opposite side of the table from her, I would never want to be involved in a transaction with her again. She did not ensure her clients comported to their contractual/legal obligations and we were made to feel bad because she and her clients didn't want to abide by the contract and the law. Very bad experience.

Today is our last full day at 1353 unit 203 seven devils road. It is a 2nd story 2/2 condo unit…read morethat is entry level. It is tastefully decorated. There are cute cabin themed decorations throughout. The view from the patio of this condo is amazing! Full view of Grandfather mountain and surrounding mountains. We got lucky and hit peak fall foliage. The colors are spectacular. They have a cute patio table that we had coffee and breakfast while braving the chilly temperatures to enjoy the fresh mountain air and beautiful views. They have a gas fireplace that is perfect to warm up after sitting outside on the patio . If you love to cook or bake, the kitchen is fully stocked with new or newer appliances like waffle maker, air fryer, slow cooker, nice sets of pots and pans. There are so many nice glasses for any kind of wine you may enjoy. The dishes are in full sets and definitely not mix match like many other rentals. Everything you need so no need to bring from home. Less than a mile away, there is a small waterfall and park called Otter Falls if you are a hiker. The waterfall is the kind you can sit on rocks and put your feet in. About 2 miles away Hawks Nest has snow tubing in the winter and zip lining any other times of the year. If you like to ski, Sugar and Beech mountains are not far away. There is plenty of parking too so no need to worry about parking. We wish we were staying longer!!

Though we were concerned about traveling while cases were still occurring in North Carolina, we felt reassured with our past experiences with Foscoe Rentals as well as the assurances on their website that they were following proper health protocols. I was happy that the unit I previously stayed in - CB-2 in Chalakee -- was available. Upon arrival at 6 p.m. on Friday evening, we encountered a nightmarish scene in the era of COVID -- a room that had not been serviced, with dirty sheets, items left unattended in the kitchen, and, because this is a new world -- no toilet paper. I immediately called the after-hours number and waited 45 minutes with no response. When I called the service again, I was placed on hold and connected to a staff member, Heather, who took ownership of the situation, which was eventually remedied. That said, this was an unforgivable lapse given the times in which we unfortunately live. I would have expected a reputable company like Foscoe would absolutely ensure housekeeping was done between rentals, and was disappointed with the self-advocacy that I found myself in, after hours, on a Friday. At this writing, I have not received any further follow-up. My advice -- insist upon confirmation of the unit's cleanliness before arrival, especially since they are following "contactless check-in" protocol and you will not be speaking with personnel prior to getting your key. UPDATE: Upon sharing my dissatisfaction with the management company, I received a refund of the housekeeping portion of my rental. This is satisfactory given the situation.

He weeded, removed old plants with large root balls, planted new plants and mulched. The work was challenging due to the grade of the slope and the ground was hard with roots and rocks. I was impressed that despite this, Andy took care to dig deep enough holes for the plant material, used fertilizer and soil to ensure their best success. He was patient with changes we made to the original scope of work and was professional, knowledgeable, polite and wonderful to work with. From the time we first spoke on the phone, Andy communicated with me regularly, stood by the timeframe he commited to, started early every morning and worked very hard. It is rare to find someone with Andy's knowledge and work ethic and I recommend him highly.

We had some rotted boards they replaced and then we realized our deck was warping and luckily they realized our 2 main 6"x6" posts had rotted. They replaced those beams with 8"x8" beams which leveled out our deck before anything catastrophic happened. Perfect job. Then we had them finish 3 unfinished rooms in our cellar. They sheet rocked the walls and ceiling and painted and put up mouldings and installed flooring. This looks beautiful and has really added value to our home. Alex and Jacob worked long and hard on all these projects over a few months. They really know what they were doing. We would HIGHLY recommend Appalachian Construction and Handyman.
