Today is our last full day at 1353 unit 203 seven devils road. It is a 2nd story 2/2 condo unit that is entry level. It is tastefully decorated. There are cute cabin themed decorations throughout. The view from the patio of this condo is amazing! Full view of Grandfather mountain and surrounding mountains. We got lucky and hit peak fall foliage. The colors are spectacular. They have a cute patio table that we had coffee and breakfast while braving the chilly temperatures to enjoy the fresh mountain air and beautiful views. They have a gas fireplace that is perfect to warm up after sitting outside on the patio . If you love to cook or bake, the kitchen is fully stocked with new or newer appliances like waffle maker, air fryer, slow cooker, nice sets of pots and pans. There are so many nice glasses for any kind of wine you may enjoy. The dishes are in full sets and definitely not mix match like many other rentals. Everything you need so no need to bring from home. Less than a mile away, there is a small waterfall and park called Otter Falls if you are a hiker. The waterfall is the kind you can sit on rocks and put your feet in. About 2 miles away Hawks Nest has snow tubing in the winter and zip lining any other times of the year. If you like to ski, Sugar and Beech mountains are not far away. There is plenty of parking too so no need to worry about parking. We wish we were staying longer!! read more

I had the occasion to return to Echota on the weekend of May 29-31, 2020, since short-term rentals had again been permitted in the state after the onset of COVID-19. Though we were concerned about traveling while cases were still occurring in North Carolina, we felt reassured with our past experiences with Foscoe Rentals as well as the assurances on their website that they were following proper health protocols. I was happy that the unit I previously stayed in - CB-2 in Chalakee -- was available. Upon arrival at 6 p.m. on Friday evening, we encountered a nightmarish scene in the era of COVID -- a room that had not been serviced, with dirty sheets, items left unattended in the kitchen, and, because this is a new world -- no toilet paper. I immediately called the after-hours number and waited 45 minutes with no response. When I called the service again, I was placed on hold and connected to a staff member, Heather, who took ownership of the situation, which was eventually remedied. That said, this was an unforgivable lapse given the times in which we unfortunately live. I would have expected a reputable company like Foscoe would absolutely ensure housekeeping was done between rentals, and was disappointed with the self-advocacy that I found myself in, after hours, on a Friday. At this writing, I have not received any further follow-up. My advice -- insist upon confirmation of the unit's cleanliness before arrival, especially since they are following "contactless check-in" protocol and you will not be speaking with personnel prior to getting your key. UPDATE: Upon sharing my dissatisfaction with the management company, I received a refund of the housekeeping portion of my rental. This is satisfactory given the situation. read more

The unit itself is sturdy and has gorgeous mountain views. Grand Oaks RW 4. 3 bedrooms, 2nd floor unit in a quiet location on Whispering Woods Drive. The interior is tired tho, very drab. Needs an overhaul in everyway. Paint, rugs, towels, kitchen utensils, bedding, televisions, coffee makers and toaster...all need to be refreshed!!!! There ARE NO LAMPS IN THE MAIN LIVING ROOM, NOT ONE... At 1500.00 to 3000.00$$ weekly depending on the season, and in a unit that has heavy bookings ( you can see yourself) as u check dates for availability, the owners are clearly NOT putting any updates or refresh into the unit. Will not stay again. There are so many choices with Foscoe and the area so beautiful we will move forward in 2022. read more

If you are planning a trip to the Carolinas. Check them out for your cabin accommodations. They offer accurate detailed photos of each property available, nothing misleading. The reservationist is familiar with the properties and will try and match you with the cabin of your dreams or needs. We were travelling with our elderly mom and were afraid of a steep driveway or steps. Our "Kingfisher Cabin" was perfect. The neighborhood offered plenty of wildlife and a catch and release pond. We saw a family of deer upon our arrival. This cabin is conveniently located by all the attractions such as Beech Mtn, Grandfather's Mtn, Boone, yet off the main road. We absolutely love it and are planning our next stay. read more

Worst rental company ever there first concern is there profit not customer service. Rented a house that had basically no water checked in on Wednesday servyman came on Friday they said they couldn't reach him. Water filler changed 3 times well either collapsed or bad pump they offered a much smaller cabin which would have had a lot of us sleeping on the floor or 2nd go home. We paid a year in advance Foscoe having nothing else for us and not being able to get there employee on a holiday is there problem. Who would like to be told go home for a refund or sleep on the floor? My advice try Air B&B saves me hundreds for next year read more

Made reservation through Fuscoe and found on our credit card bill a charge from Home Away. When the reservation was made, contact was with owner who put us over to the rental co,--Fuscoe. Nowhere on the Fuscoe rental agreement was there any mention of Home Away. Hidden charges are unacceptable and will never use this deceptive company again. Review of rental unit R21A Echota On The Ridge July 29 -- September 8, 2018 Attention: Foscoe Rental Agency & Owner of property. Pros -- Rental Agency very responsive to our needs. They replaced a grill that was in the original photo but absent when we arrived. Also replaced a non-working coffee pot with a new one (but very poor quality). We were having trouble with the dryer and that was immediately fixed. They also replaced a shower curtain liner that was found to be covered with mildew. Nice view from decks. Well stocked kitchen, pottery, flatware, glasses, pots & pans Cooking extras necessary for long term rental not so good. (no mixer). All appliances in good working order except for the ice dispenser in the refrigerator. Very nice pool area and amenities . Centrally located for seeing the High Country. Cons -- Located on a very noisy traffic street (only ingress and egress for development of 275 housing units). Unit is in very poor condition -- needs a THROUGH cleaning. All Carpets are BADLY stained - not sure cleaning would help - probably needs to be replaced. Wood blinds are dusty - as are window sills. The furniture had been dusted before we moved in - and the floors cleaned. Bed linens are in deplorable condition, especially in the main floor master bedroom. The mattress in that room is beyond old and uncomfortable - especially if you are going to be there for 5 weeks. The sheets are thin - fitted sheets so stretched they don't stay on the mattress, and the decorative covers and pillows are so bad I can't even describe. Certainly you would find better in the cheapest motel. NOT in an expensive Echota on the Ridge condo unit. read more

We are now at the last day of our two week rental of unit R1011 in Echota on the Ridge. We couldn't be more pleased with the layout of this two bedroom condo although the living room space could be a little tight if 4 people wanted to watch TV. The kitchen appliances were more than adequate for the few meals we cooked in. There isn't any grill for outdoor cooking. The community pool-clubhouse is a very pleasant place to relax & remove yourself from daily stress. Nice landscaping throughout the community. Plenty of parking near your rental. Quiet. A great view from this unit. In fact I don't think you would be disappointed with the view from any of these units. Since we were unable to arrive before Foscoe's office closed they left our keys in a designated area & allowed us to check in & clear our bill the next day. This is a perfect location for touring the High Country of NC (Grandfather Mountain, Linville Falls, Banner Elk, Boone, Blowing Rock). So many great restaurants in the area made it unnecessary to mess up the kitchen!! read more

Spent 2 days sweltering in a condo that had defective air conditioning. Made 3 calls to Foscoe Rentals and received promises to send repair person. No one ever showed up, and, when we checked out, we received only a "We're so sorry"...no offer of a partial refund. Will never use their services again and will report to BBB. read more

Rented the Valley Creek cabin. Fantastic accommodation with beautiful creek view. Great week in relaxing setting. Very well appointed.
